I made the tumbler today. Although I'm happy with it, I have to say it looks much easier when you paint the red and blue without crossing them as much as I did haha That's the nice thing about a distressed cup though - it's hard to mess it up. I still have to put the brown on it so we shall see what happens. Thanks for your great videos; I really enjoy them.

Love your videos! Have you tried using your airbrush gun to move the colors around in epoxy opposed to the heat gun? Just wondering if you had good results. It seems like it would be more precise than the heat gun or blow dryer not sure if it would be too much air though...

I have a problem with my epoxy...it pulls from the bottom (feels thin) & also from the top. How many coats of epoxy is best?
usually 2 applications of epoxy. I have been doing one lately because they have been coming out so well. Typically you do one And then let it roll for 3 to 4 hours touch the bottom with the back of your knuckle to see if it is slightly tacky, not too tacky, then add another layer

I usually buy pre-prepped white, or powdercoated, but you can do the same with a sub cup too

Have you ever tried to use real vinyl stickers on an epoxy cup? I wonder if the sticker will get messed up under the epoxy.
I have done that - sometimes an edge will lift but most of the time it works well

I have tried making this tumbler and cannot get the alcohol inks off of the white areas without the blue fading onto the white. Any ideas??
I like using the eraser pencil I mention, there is a link to it in the vid description. But, why worry about the blue onto the white - it may add character to the "distressed" vibe🤷🏻♂️

I bought the eraser pencil you mentioned. It helped some. But it still has a blue tint to the white. You can’t really tell there is any brown at all. I ended up on the one tonight using another alcohol ink, a white that pushes the primary color to the middle. I have two more to finish tomorrow. I’m wondering it the amount of drying time on the blue paint makes a difference.
that could be possible. i just did 2 more the other day and i smeared some blue streaks into my white stars on purpose. i also used a scotchbrite pad to remove some of the blue areas

How many layers of epoxy did you do?
usually 2. 4 hours apart when the 1st layer is just tacky I go ahead and put the 2nd coat
HELP!! just finished a tumbler put my heart and soul into it washed it in cold water and it went dull no shine aaaahhhhhh! What went wrong pls? And what do you sand yours with and do you sand after first coat or second omg this is so hard 😩😫😲
when and why did you wash with cold water, and is this after you expoxied?

How could you do this without airbrush?
just use a brush and alcohol ink, then spritz with isopropyl alcohol from a spray bottle. The alcohol won't effect the spray paint

None of the stainless steel tumblers are able to go in thw dishwasher because of the double-walled vaccum insulation from what i understand.🤷🏻♂️
I don’t advice putting them in the dishwasher. I told my daughter not to and she still did. The epoxy got so warm it bubbled up!
