This video resonates so much to some of the tenants living in my apartment complex. I've just finished discussing with the property manager to make sure they can cope living in a small tiny confined space before signing the contract. Charles one up you again
Watching these NYC apartments for rent has taught me something sad. You can turn a closet into an apartment and charge people whatever you want. These landlords need controlled somehow.
Liked that you had a real person who was looking for an apartment. I hope she rented it although it was small for 2850. But as I've learned every apartment is small unless you want to pay big bucks. Charles was in a good mood riding on the sidewalk with no cares. See ya
If I was looking to rent a place in NYC, the second of Charles' apartments was a home run! The last place would be okay for someone with kids. That in-between area could be the kids' play and homework area, and the smaller bedroom could hold bunk beds and enough clothes storage for two.
A big plus for me is having a separate kitchen, even if small with appliances that just fit the space. A lot of apartments have appliances lined up in the living room or a hallway which are not really kitchens though that's what they are called.
I definitely would a alarm system by Simpli Safe to put on fire escape window and any other street level ones. It's connected to your phone, fire dept. , or police and you can set it up yourself. The channel by Trent and Allie use it in their home and the van they used to travel in.
Believe me, anybody determined enough to break in will find a way, with or without obvious accessibility. ALWAYS keep windows locked on every floor when you're not in the room, using them in the moment. One of my pet sitting clients had their home broken into through upstairs windows left open.

Cash's apartments had glitzier finishes, but they were small! Charles' apartments were more conservative, but they were much larger and a much better value. No contest here!
I don't understand why the video is titled "Last Tenant Went Crazy Because Apt. So Small" not one of these units that he featured was described as "small." And there are other videos that have absolutely nothing to do with the mildly sensationalistic titles. So...why?... He must be creating these titles to snag people into watching. Why resort to this? I enjoy watching them and part of the appeal is the fact that he seems like a pretty straightforward person but I have to say, that these tactics (while you can say that's it's not a big deal), to me, somehow it undermines his whole effort.
This makes me so thankful that we have a 4 bedroom 2 ba house and only pay around 1/4 of what these apartments are renting for. We also have an open field across from our house where the dogs can run and have fun!!

I actually think all the apartments were decent. I love the staircases in the 1st 2 places & the 1st even had an elevator!! That's a definite +. The 1st place was quirky. Not for everyone, especially with that super tight kitchen. But that 2nd, for a studio it was surprisingly large. You know I loved all of Charles's, even the 1 on the 1st floor. Super nice room sizes. I just can't figure out why there's different styles of wood floors in some of them. Charles is definitely starting to match Cash's comedic style!
I was born and raised in N.Y.C, but have been in Los Angeles since 1974. Currently me and my sister are renting a 2 bedroom 1 bath apartment for 2,100 and believe me it is the least expensive I found over 1 year ago. So obviously now I couldn't even find a studio or 1 bedroom in N.Y.C for $1,200 which is all I could afford alone.
At least it has an elevator at $3500/month. Imagine cutting the tile and flooring for that 1st apartment? The $2900/month 3rd floor studio wasn't bad but depending upon one's health--stairs are still stairs. But our Charles SAVES the day once again! That 2 bedroom at $3900.month is an opportunity even if it's at ground level. That unit is huge! I could even work with that second unit that is going for the same price. I might even like that one a bit better simply because it has the step landing.
Totally agree, I think when it comes to the "window to nowhere" places (or fire escapes) that's perfect for the new york city crowd that loves to watch movies and play video games, so their focus is elsewhere. Shout-out to any of the NYC "shut-ins", y'all my friends! 😁♥️
Really reminds me my dorm at university. It was smaller as i only had a room and a shared toilet and shared living room. The fact that my only window is facing a close brick wall hasn’t help at all and I feel enclosed...after one session, I rather do the 2hrs daily transit than staying in that dorm.
I can’t fathom i the price… but my $ 80000 three bedroom , two bathroom brick home in nowheresville Kentucky is paid for as of 6 months ago!🥳🥳. I’m used to small town living now and couldn’t do the city scene.
So weird, like everything in those rooms.. Air conditioning/fridge/washer/dryer/doors/etc cost about as much as a month's rent. Like.. high rent should be a crime
It's worth maybe 800/mnth.. but where would i put my 8 cats and 2 doggos? I actually really like this one lol I love little holes in the wall.. i think that shows my ancestry! People, you have the power to make this society a better place.. an AFFORDABLE place. You just gotta admit that everyone deserves a place to live. And then work for that end.
Getting a stranger to view the studio apartment that is apartment shopping. The fridge doors you can just remove and relocate them on the other side to make it easier to use it. The third floor is hard to move in & out plus your groceries.
So I live in Southern California which is so very different from New York City obviously, but I live on a first floor apartment on the street, like a walkup. I think technically the building I'm in is a 16-plex in a small apartment community (47 units). I live in the suburbs but it feels more like I'm living in a city when I don't open my front door to a hallway. Can't stand dealing with elevators and stairs all the time. Broke my leg last year and had trouble with the two steps I have to navigate here. I know all my neighbors and we foster community, know each other's pets, cars, etcetera. I'd like to imagine that's the appeal of a first-floor apartment, but I've never done it in a big big city. Had a studio in Northeast Los Angeles that was maybe a 28-plex and that was a quirky unit. I lived on the first floor but the building had a semi-basement so you'd still have to walk up about 12 steps to the hallway. We'd get possums in the yard, even smack dab in the middle of Silverlake. It's so cool seeing how people live in other places, these videos provide such a great insight into what people value for the life they want to live. How we prioritize amenities differently based on our own personal needs.
As a current new yorker, it is. I lived in NYC My whole life. $3,500 is way too expensive for an apartment where you can barely turn around. Especially since most salaries are not keeping up with the cost of living in NYC.
Hi Cash and your friend this tiny apartment is very unique. However, the kitchen is a bit narrow. I like the laundry and elevator. Stay well and safe 👍
I rented a hotel in the Bronx 2005 and it was the smallest hotel room I've ever been in for $310 a night.. crazy how much it is to live in the ghettos of NYC I pay 3800 a year on my 1500 sf 3 bedroom 2 bath with a fenced-in yard and that 3800 also includes all my utilities. @@Balletcalvero Likely somewhere with a low population, like Wyoming or South Dakota…I live in Montana and pay $700 for a 3 bedroom house, but I get help with property taxes. Montana is cheap compared to nyc though.
@@melissaburris7606 I live in RI. My very small one bedroom is $865. It's not more than that because I got into a fist fight with my new landlord after he tried to hike up my rent when he found out I'd been here for 4 years.
Well done, Cash and Charles. Don't know how you are finding the energy right now, Cash, but you have your growing family to provide for. And you do it with talent and adorableness.
Charles you're not bad yourself.
What they consider a walk-in closet in NYC is amazing 😂 just because you can fit in it while it’s empty, doesn’t make it a walk-in.
🤣 I know my walk in closet in Miami 5 x bigger than that I should change the name apparently 😅
@@amparovazquez3814 i have 2 walk in closets in my house that are the size of some of these bedrooms 😂 it’s just so funny cause he will be standing in them and be like “it a nice walk in!” like no….a walk in closet is where you can have all your stuff and have room to walk around. i can walk into my hallway closet, but it’s not a “walk-in” 😂😂
You are so right about that. It's not a damn walk-in !
i find it hard to understand that people have that amount of money to rent an apt.....i am used to Midwest prices with a ton of space......great job CASH.
I like the format of having a renter come along with you for the tour, makes it twice as fun to watch!
I used to work for the company that produced those air conditioners. It’s based in San Antonio, TX. Pronounced “Fred-Rick’ . New York has the biggest customer base😊
They're good they've been around for decades.
The "name sounds French" makes me laugh as it is So Germanic
It saves window shape. I have two. Great ACs
Im in Houston and I have one in my studio.
Interesting. I'm from San Antonio
This video resonates so much to some of the tenants living in my apartment complex. I've just finished discussing with the property manager to make sure they can cope living in a small tiny confined space before signing the contract. Charles one up you again
I like how you find possibilities in even crappy apartments
Watching these NYC apartments for rent has taught me something sad. You can turn a closet into an apartment and charge people whatever you want. These landlords need controlled somehow.
The landlords also have to pay thousands in taxes. NY is just insanely expensive. I would never live there.
Hmm. Controlling landlords. I'm not really sure how that would help anything.
@@barbarat5729simp
@@1faithchick7 it’s not because the tax lmaoooo because the corporations buying up all the housing units and not renting
Charles always has the best apartments
A big plus for me is having a separate kitchen, even if small with appliances that just fit the space. A lot of apartments have appliances lined up in the living room or a hallway which are not really kitchens though that's what they are called.
Don't like the fire escape outside the bedroom window, someone could come down from above or up from below and break in.
Wow!!!! This is very small. We love watching tiny houses / apartments. We are living in a motorhome right now so we feel the stress of tiny spaces. Love watching these. Chelsea and Mike
My son bought a house recently in a Seattle suburb built in the 2000s, 4 bedroom, 2 1/2 baths, 4 car garage, mountain views, gated community, 5 acres, monthy payment with hoa fee just over 4 thousand. NY prices are cRaZy
Don't tell Seattle about New York rents..they'll be trying to compete..😢
@@janeysiegrist5061 that's not rent it's mortgage. I know my son paid under $2,500 for a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apt he rented before he bought a house but I don't think he had an in unit washer and dryer in his apt. Watching the places Cash shows makes me feel rich in my 3 bedroom 2 bath townhouse, it's super spacious by NY standards. Garage, deck big sinks, laundry room, storage room, walk in closet. I'm living large and didn't know it. lol
See, I wouldn't live in Seattle, either, because it's a liberal 💩🕳️. Sorry.
Dang Charles you got people honking at you lol…..you’re like forget them lol 😆 I love it!!! Always great to see Cash & Charles together!!! ❤❤❤
❤️👍🏿
I was waiting to see the hilarious shenanigans from the short you & Charles made in that one apartment. It was truly comedy gold! 🏆😅😅😅
I watch everyday, and this one was especially good, Cash. I liked the interactions with the "potential renter" lady on the street and seeing the neighbors' place in the adjacent apartment. It was nice and It helped us to see how a similar unit could be set-up. Keep up the good work.
The fact that we take a sink sprayer and good water pressure for granted here in Alabama.. big ups to the peeps who live in NYC.
If you live in Lowndes county you can't even count on having a sewer connection.
No way in hell I would ever pay those prices. My 4-bedroom 2 1/2 bath, 2 car garage house costs $1100 a month to own NOT rent.
Interesting flex bringing a potential renter on board. I like it.
Love the new segment. Stranger off the street opinion on the studio. Nice studio and last 2 were good. Reasonable
These apts. were surprisingly good ! Pulling a random New Yorker off the street was great and asking a next door neighbor for a tour was even better.
Charles , as always , put in an Oscar - -worthy performance ---- love him ! Wish him a very Merry Christmas from me.
Much love to you , Cash , and your precious family.Merry Christmas 2022 and a very Happy and Prosperous New Year 2023 ! ---- from South Florida but a lover of NYC.(PS : I couldn't correct those lines ---- dying phone.)
You’re the best Cash, your energy is contagious, and when you’re with Charles, it’s a blast, he can sell a air conditioner to someone who lives in the North Pole.
Cash and Charles pushin all the buttons. 😂
The energy, music and the bantering was awesome in this episode. Cash, I'm not looking to rent but I was very entertained. Thank you.
Merry Christmas to you and your family..I'll be in NYC next week. Hopefully my daughter and I will see you roaming around the city!
I guess living in the midwest have truly spoiled me. No way in hell I'm ever going to pay 3, 4 thousand a month for cracker Jack spot apartments in New York. Too small for me, I need to spread out and relax. 🤔🤔
Same and I thought Chicago was high ASF lol 😂
Merry Christmas and Happy New York to the entire Jordan family. May 23 be the best and most prosperous year ever. Looking forward to all the great videos coming up in the months ahead. And maybe another journey to the far east? Having been to Tokyo, I really appreciate those trips. Thanks again, Cash. And Charles the Great.
Yeah, Friedrich sounds French. 😵💫
If that first floor is in a walk-up building I would consider that a big plus, especially bringing home groceries.
I'd say for once I actually think all aren't bad. Surprising, right?
Totally agree, I think when it comes to the "window to nowhere" places (or fire escapes) that's perfect for the new york city crowd that loves to watch movies and play video games, so their focus is elsewhere.
Shout-out to any of the NYC "shut-ins", y'all my friends! 😁♥️
I liked the ground level one more
This is nuts!!! Never, would I rent something that small for that amount of money!!!
Hats off to Charles, a Navy veteran.
It is nice to see ones where someone is living in there and you can see how they have it set up.
I'm currently doing laundry in my 1 bedroom, $1000 per month, in unit laundry, Colorado Springs, Co downtown loft apartment. Newly remodeled.
Good for you?
Great take on NYC -- from both of you!! So much fun to watch!
For the second, studio, apartment. Install a Murphy bed with side cabinets. Lancaster Handcraft is where I got mine.
I pay less than $1100 a month for a 2 story 3200 sq ft house with a 2 car garage and my own yard. These prices are insane!!
I really like your upbeat videos!! You cover all the bases!! You show us everything a renter would need to know!!
I payed 800 for 3x that space for my last apartment 3 years ago. And it overlooked a pond. It is insane how expensive this closet is.
I live in a building with No elevator, Double Flights (12 flights) to the 6th floor (my apartment), 1 Bedroom, 1.5 bathrooms, 1 small Closet Space. Very small apartment for $2772 Monthly…. its rough. Im about to move tf out. I been staying here for a YEAR. You have to come to the hood (Harlem, Brooklyn, The Bronx, Queens, staten island) for prices below $4k. The best place to live for a VERY cheap price is staten island due to it being so close to new jersey and is isolated from the other 4 boroughs
Great video and love every apartment you show!!
I have yet to see one single place you have looked at that I would even think for a moment that "yea... thats a nice place... I could give that a shot" no its all "HALL NO" New Yorkers are Insane, Truley.
I love when you and Charles collaborate together on videos.
Hi, thanks for the video and greetings from Finland! 👋🇫🇮 Really interesting to see small apartments in New York. The rent of the small flats are terrible though, I can't imagine how people can afford living in there. 😳
Cash and Charles you two have best and unique apartments to show.
I know it's been years but the rents I started our with were 250 and ended with 800...I can't believe the prices
Wow look at that parquetry flooring on the second apartment floor , simply beautiful.
Love your channel , but 3800 for one of the 1beds is just crazy.
More average people looking to rent joining you on your tours pls! I first found you during 2020-2021 off videos where you were helping others apartment-hunt, and don't think I've seen you include that in videos in a long while lol. The apartments also looked pretty good given the prices and the areas (probably good potential for any couples), though I could swear that last one with the step landing we'd seen before... (or did Charles tour it on his channel?) Also enjoyed the chill vibes this had for a Sunday video.
You two would be fun to hang with, I love the video's you do together! And I liked the potential renter too!
I love watching your channel! I have my daughter and husband watching you also
It was hard to breathe during the first tour.. it feels so claustrophobic.. how could anyone want to live in NY THIS bad .. I don’t even like visiting if I’m being honest 🥴 .. over $3000 for a one bedroom is insane
I enjoy getting to peek into one that is furnished.
Those prices are RIDICULOUS
Both agreed the oven comes with a “tray” aka a roasting pan.
All good apartments but #3 is by far the best. Cash picking up a 'random' girl on the street was hilarious! Oops! BTW Cash, what have you done with your bike?
$3,500 is way too expensive for an apartment where you can barely turn around. Especially since most salaries are not keeping up with the cost of living in NYC.
Bro be flirting when bro doesn't even know he's accidentally flirting. 😂 My man Cash!
Hi Cash and your friend this tiny apartment is very unique. However, the kitchen is a bit narrow. I like the laundry and elevator. Stay well and safe 👍
I can't get over what people pay to live in the city!!! My mortgage payment for a 2k sqft home on 7.2 acres is only $850!
I can't imagine living in NYC ever in my life at those prices.
⭐⭐⭐⭐ Dude the first apartment is so small, one has to go outside to makeup their mind. But it is what it is, and the NYC rent keeps going up like the foam of a beer. However, good video as usual.
Boy I’m so glad I live in Northern Ky 10 miles south of Cincinnati, Ohio
My 3100 sq ft 2 car garage house for $1356 a mo is a blessing… the 1/2 acre is wonderful not to mention the 16x20 deck on a cul de sac…
Why do I live in Brazil and can't stop watching videos about apartments in New York?
I believe the name Friedrich is German but the guy, Ed Friedrich, was from Texas. Friedrich a/c's are some of the best. American made!

$4000 grand for these........ That's WAY more than I would pay for a mortgage. Much less rent. 😅. Honestly the only thing that I have a problem with these is the price.
I can’t believe she said “this is huge” imagine how small are all the others she has seen! This is just sad..
I always wait for the tour where Cash breaks something when he drops, slams shut, pulls drawer open aggressively, bangs doors etc. 😂🤣😂🤣

I know, he seems to love slamming doors, lol.
crash! bang! boom! o wait... its just Cash 🙂
