The song is sooo good. And the whole video, too. I‘m an artist from germany and i struggle a lot with perfectionism and depression. What you said in the video resonated a lot with me, because the best things i‘ve done, i think, happened when i didn‘t try and just played around or fucked something up. Very human experiences are hard to come by on the internet, and you always deliver the most raw, devastatingly beautiful content. You should be so proud of yourself. I feel a huge sense of gratitude to be able to see these glimpses into who you are and for your willingness and determination to share it

I'm edging 40 and have been working in the creative industry for most of my adult life and for the last few years started to feel like I just cannot find the motivation to keep going in this field. As a lifelong chaser of Astral Yeehaw this doc has now somehow made me appreciate art and the process even more!? Thank you for sharing your thoughts and ideas with the world! Th earnestness of this REALLY hits me!
There was one quote i still remember from your previous videos that i watched and it was like DONE IS BETTER THAN PERFECT it was on context of goat simulator and yeah like SAME THING APPLIES HERE your “Astral Yihawww” was basically a pursuit of perfection and sublime in a song And that was stopping you from producing song appearently… i think the other song that you guys sang was also very good one the one with mouth organ and guitar but maybe it didnt become a complete song ready to be published because you were chasing your Astral Yihaw And often times we humans do same things in our every single ambitious goals that we want to continue doing but we feel like WHAT IF IT DOESNT HIT THE MARK ? What if it’s not good enough or LIKE THAT THE ONE AMAZING SONG but we forget that chase of perfect or sublime is often futile.
I can't express what a big of a smile you made on my face with every second of this video. I'm so impressed. Not only did you use various soo nice (and never or rarely seen) animations, concepts, designs and so on. But you did your goal made come true. And to see the process of it, was really enjoying and even enlightening. My time never feels wasted watching your videos. Thanks cam :)
Not a country fan as a general rule, but I LOVE THIS SONG!!! And I love even more the story behind it - yours personally, Cam, and the group of you together. ALL THE BEST to you guys!!! 💜
This was so good and inspiring I had to show my coworker bits and pieces and of course the song today! I haven't seen UA-cam content that was so inspiring and purposeful and it does it even without it trying to be the main point. You have found some happiness, my friend. You found a way to chase your dreams, use all of the skills that you developed and love, and make it into an enjoyable experience that inspires others to do so. My coworker said 'After all that, I kind of wish I was him.' I told her 'You don't wish you were him. He's searching for the best version of himself and you can feel the call of that inspiration. You wish you were yourself, the best version of yourself.' Thank you for putting a name to the face of Astral Yeehaws and inspiring those of us who obsess over them and their creation to remember to keep on doing it when it is so easy neglect these days!
Hey Cam, I really need all those songs on Spoti asap! I'm really proud of you, this video gave me chills. It's wonderful. I finished it with this feeling of wanting to eat the world in one bite, wanting to love with all my heart, and enjoying my parents as long as I have them on earth with me. I could feel everything with this video, is truly amazing. Thank you so much for this. I'm in love with life all over again.
This is so good, I had to watch it twice! You're chasing the whole human experience and tempting me to do it too. 27 minutes and 18 seconds later I feel so much better, Cam! Thank you, this is a piece of art 💜
This video made me do the big cry. So much has been happening over the last nine months by way of struggle (growth) that it feels so amazing to see that there can be more, not just on the other side, but during the process itself. During your exchange when you were debating being a “successful artist,” it’s arguably an acceptable outcome to be content and happy and alive while making music with the people you love. Your story has already touched the hearts and lives of countless people, myself included, so attaining that tier level of life could be viewed without. Then again, you’ve got the creative knack and a clear vision so it’s no wonder that you pushed yourself in the glorious way that you did. So happy and grateful for you!
Country music is near and dear to my heart because of my Western Canadian roots and being Metis (a recognized indigenous nation for those not from Canada). My uncle is actually part of a band that plays country music so it is soo cool to have one of my favourite UA-camrs document his process of making country music!
this video was absolutely incredible! my fiancé has been a professional metal musician since his late teens, but he's obsessed w country music + i'm a giant johnny cash fan- very cool to see another punk/ alt music appreciator with country roots! it was beautiful getting such an intimate sneak peek into your personal creative process + seeing how you collaborate with other talented musicians! 10/10 documentary! can you maybe please consider also uploading that music video on it's own as well? it's too good + i want to send the song to some of my friends/ put it onto a playlist
hi struthless! thankyou so much for making videos, art and now music (that i hope will make it's way onto spotify because it's so freaking good!!) this entire video really hit hard for me, not only as a creative perfectionist but also as a homesick aussie abroad, absolute astral yeehaw experience
Mind officially blown.. I am a huge fan of Ruby Fields for a few years now and love the vibe she captures with her music. At the same time, your content has helped me a lot in starting to change my life and I am deeply grateful. Now I see you two are actual friends. This feels so randomly out of the blue, but somehow connected. Goosebumps. Thank you, you two wonderful individuals!❤
Oh man this doco makes me want to uproot my life and move outback to create art, such a banger once again, and the song SLAPS! I also love how creative, supporting and loving the people in your life are, the kind of friends and family that everyone should have
I am an Eritrean refugee who just escaped the turmoil in Sudan by a few day. I was listening to this video late at night and it made me cry for no reason...and i am the kind of girl who thinks she is as tough as steel. Thank you for your videos.
I actually treat your channel like a TV series, I genuinely can't wait for what's next. This channel makes me feel good more than any other. For me this video is the most powerful I've seen to date. Thank you so much for the work you do. It's so needed. Please please please keep going!!!
Holy sweet heck, out of ALL the videos I've ever watched from you especially during my depressive rut phase about a year ago, THIS docco really came into my head and made me sit up from my bed voicing out curses cause I GENUINELY understood the assignment like a big OOF moment! I've felt the massive weight of failure in not reaching a goal I'd initially wanted to before, I felt the moment I had to stop for a while, and I FEEL the joy I get from trying again thru small efforts until I got to where I am now. Thank you so much for this Cam! Hella appreciate ya for making this one, dawg!
This video gave me chills!!! I always have been a perfectionist with an anxiety disorder and this has started to cost me soooo much in terms of fun, connection and generally my well being. I really needed this video, seeing you all enjoy yourselves while making mistakes was just cathartic❤❤ Thank you, you never miss at making me feel better
Anyone else smiling a big, goofy grin when listening to their song? Brought me back to my college days. Well done, and amazing video. Cheers from the US!
I'm Working, I'm Drunk or Hungover!!! FK YEAH, I love it!!! Talk about the beauty of creating from ones failures. I loved hearing that throughout the documentary. Failure are the building blocks to step on and move forward. Your videos just keep getting better and better. Congrats on your music chapter! Cheers!
I draw my hat for you, sir. You always remind me of being grateful and just do it. Things we forget on our journeys way too often, to just be humans and make mistakes. Thank you.
as someone born and raised in West Virginia, in the heart of the appalachian mountains, with a family that's been here for many generations, obviously country music runs super deep in the history and culture here. i've got a big appreciation for it, and definitely a whole lot of respect for you for perusing this kind of thing ❤ it's always been pretty disheartening to hear people say they hate it over and over. this is some incredibly well made content, dude. cant wait to see what you do next
DAMN DUDE! Best story I've heard in a hot minute. Super stoked on where your content's heading, and I'm equally stoked on how much fun you seem to be having making shit happen. Well done
I have no idea how I stumbled on your channel but you quickly went from "random video that came up in recommended" to one of the channels I closely watch for new posts. Good shit
There are so many ways in which this doco is good, I’d have to make my own doco just to cover it all. The country song is epic. The lessons and meanings you drew from this experience are profound. And there is also something distinctly Aussie about this whole doco that I really enjoyed. Thank you Cam, your a straight up legend
I’ve loved country music all my life - I connect with it and it makes me truly happy - like it’s okay to have a bad day here and there. I’ve never been confident to share it with anyone. but I think a combination of this video, a country bar opening where my parents live and seeing an Aurora last night has completely changed me. New strings that have been sat for months are now on the guitar and I’m picking some songs to play at the open mic when I visit my folks. Thanks Man
Woaaah I almost cried man. This is so pure and it resets my super confused insecure mind and now I want to explode my dreams into the reality and just embrace the f*cking mistakes. We were ment to make mistakes and those who listen to them will thrive. Mistakes are magical even if they feel absolutely shitty shit! Woohooo where can I listen to the other songs?!! Thanks for this video!!
It makes me tear up, and i dont know why. All of you together, singing, it is just so heartwarming. It feels so good even though we arent there with all of you. It just feels like we are a part of it
Your new content is something else, Cam. So inspiring to watch, the storytelling is unreal and the production and editing are on a another level. Love it 😍
Your pursuit of different ways of expressing your creativity and your thoughts is honestly so inspiring! I was smiling the whole time, it seems like you had so much fun during the whole process and it shows in the song, which I fucken LOVE.
You are seriously the most inspirational UA-camr, and you give me so much hope as an artist! This bucket list series has been giving me Astral Yeehaws with each video. Thank you for living your dream, brother 💙
DUUUDDDEEEE The videos just keep getting deeper and better 😍🤣 It seems that everytime you put out a video you bring us to these realisations at exactly the times we need to hear it. I was so low this morning and this is EXACTLY what I needed to hear. Talk about an astral yeehawwwwww
You know cam, you made me realise that our human existence is more then performance. It's the way we take that makes us who we become and most important, it's of no importance which way we choose to go. You are so many roles and aspects in these videos, you are a writer, an artist, a county song writer, a dad, a husband, a friend, a struggling being, and you never lost your way because - as your content taught me - there is no part to lose. Watching your team and you making your hiccups becoming the art is a experience that helped me appreciating my own shortcomings and embrace the way I am. Imperfect and fun and alive.
The lesson here is so amazing plus the editing and storytelling! Incredible and so refreshing compared to other self improv channels! I can't even describe how important each one of your videos are to everyone of us watching! Thank you ❤
I'm early, so in case you're looking at the comments right now: thank you for sharing your creativity with the world! Your storytelling, as well as your editing skills, as well as the wide range of interesting topics you cover in your videos: it's all so good! I loooooove it! Also, I wanted to let you know that a few months ago, i was surprised to see your face in a Dutch newspaper!! (It was an article/recommendation about your "fond video") OK, that's it, I'm gonna watch the rest of this video now 😉 Cheers from the Netherlands and have a nice day!
I am loving these little mini docus or video essays you’ve been putting out. you’re an excellent story teller and visual artist. I’ve always loved reading essay collections but you’re the first I’ve seen out that format into video and it’s wonderful, thank you!
I really love these new documentary style videos, they have giving me so much motivation and inspiration. Both running a marathon and writing a song have been on my bucket list since last year!!
I dont think i could sucessfully explain how much i adored this video and how ill go back to it 1 million times to make sure it imprints on my brain im at a time right now that ive been so afraid of hiccups im in a gray area of no feeling i really needed this thank you for this piece of art💫
CAM!! I loved this doc :) First of all, I'm appreciative anytime someone talks about the origins of the banjo, the intricacies of country music AND Shania Twain was the cherry on top. I am so happy to watch you check things off of your bucket list and I swear to Christ, if we don't get an album or more songs I'm gonna be pissed cause you've got something for sure. As soon as you explained Astral Yeehaw, it felt like something that needed to be more. Your music feels like skateboarding on Saturday mornings in my teens. Very specific and lovely, gritty and sweet. Your last two videos have fueled me and stuck with me. I love what you do and am excited for you and whatever you go after next
This whole video (and the rest of them) are an infinite astral yeehaws! You have been looking for it, but actually, you're mastering it! I personally don't know if I'm far or close to reach what I wished or wanted to be, but I feel more in peace with my mistakes and moving towards something. Thank you for teaching me to move forward! I hope to do grand things as you someday.
This new video/doco of yours is by far one of the best examples of how human created content, with real human-ness in it, will ALWAYS be better art than Ai will ever be able to produce. On another note, I have had the idea of producing new videos and a new channel, utilizing hand written notes and drawings, just like you did here. Thank you for showing me that the idea is not only a good one, it is a fantastic one. I appreciate the inspiration. Thank you for making this doco! You are leveling up, baby, and it makes me want to fallow you. Thank you.
dude I love this so much! you gotta do more music man!!!! I am definitely gonna be covering working drunk or hungover ....reminiscent of ramshackle glory or days n' daze
LOVED the documentary bro 😊 thanks for the reminder that it's all about the hiccups. I've been wrestling with a TV pilot script for 3 years and trying to finish it now. Needed this smile.
My country music Astral Yeehaw song was the first time i eber heard Fishing In The Dark by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. Made me an instant country fan (especially classic country) and never turned back.
Blown away by this video man. Legit some of your best work and you have a pretty high standard. You perfectly captured what it means to create great art whilst perfectly describing what great art is. This one is going straight in the favourites to rewatch over and over again when I need to hear this message
This is insane, as a bloke who loves country and who had an astral yeehaw at one of Adam’s concerts at wombarra bowlo can’t do anything else but thank you guys, cheers 🍻🍻
i'm so glad i found this channel, i've watched like 15 videos and this one was genuinely like sunshine blasting out of my screen. you're such an inspiring person, i'm so glad you exist and put this stuff out there, genuinely kudos for being so awesome
I can concretely say no creator on earth has impacted me as often or as deeply as you. You're such an incredible source of inspiration, and so are the other folks who worked on this doc. You're an infinite source of astral yeehaws, thank you dude.
The video ended 10 minutes ago, and I'm still crying. Someday maybe I'll have some successes, but I've been having only failures for years. If your life came together eventually, maybe mine will too. The song was a top-notch astral yeehaw, thank you!
I absolutely love the new videos you are making. You can just feel how much you enjoyed making them and the production quality is off the charts!!! Fantastic job!
Trying to write down the lyrics, but missing some since it's not my first language. I'll edit if you guys can help out. ------- Jesus, why don't you come over? We'll fill that fucker up! We'll make Noah's ark look like a tinny! We'll bitch about our dads, every job we've ever had, we'll take two of every drink and get silly! For 40 days and 40 nights we'll drink Jack (???) ale and ice We'll get jobs that don't care if you boil over If you teach me how to pray, I'll write your resume! We'll be working or drunk or hungover! (Piano intermission) Your dad gave you magic and mine gave me bipolar. He sent you here to die but at least you got some closure. So join me for some spritzers take it easy on your guilt trips we'll be working or DRUNK or hungooover!
Ive been putting so much pressure on myself, trying to figure out what direction to take creatively. Ive taken all the fun out of it and Ive turned into a total brick, unable to work on anything because it's never good enough. I expect everything I make to be an astral yeehaw. Its gotten to a point where I don't take action because it makes me so anxious. Thank you for this video. I need more of this "Australian Country Music" it's like a new flavor of music
Listen to bluegrass it’s a music genre
Aussie punk is really great, too. GEE TEE is one of my favorites! (Check out "Livin' In The Future" and "Cops N Robbers" if you're so inclined.)
Check out 'pat the bunny' - I reckon it was a heavy inspiration for the music in this video

Your channel is a huge part in re-finding the passion to grow and learning new skills. You're doing great work! Thanks for that.
As a lifelong chaser of Astral Yeehaw this doc has now somehow made me appreciate art and the process even more!? Thank you for sharing your thoughts and ideas with the world! Th earnestness of this REALLY hits me!
Holy shit dude, your docs just keep getting better and better. Thanks for being a good role model✨
I absolutely need to loosen up and make room for more hickups in my own work. Thanks for this entertaining and heartfelt reminder of that.
My coworker said 'After all that, I kind of wish I was him.'
I told her 'You don't wish you were him. He's searching for the best version of himself and you can feel the call of that inspiration. You wish you were yourself, the best version of yourself.'
Thank you for putting a name to the face of Astral Yeehaws and inspiring those of us who obsess over them and their creation to remember to keep on doing it when it is so easy neglect these days!
Thank you, this is a piece of art 💜
the best songs always come from people who are having fun with friends, and seeing everyone sing together at the studio literally made me cry ❤
watching this doc was an astral yeehaw experience. beautiful work, many thanks for sharing with the world!
I've been feeling super stuck in my creative career and your documentaries are helping to heal that. Thanks a ton
Love your stuff, man. Your videos are a mess of chaotic creativity that's a joy to watch. And I love that song you came up with! Super catchy.
I actually treat your channel like a TV series, I genuinely can't wait for what's next. This channel makes me feel good more than any other. For me this video is the most powerful I've seen to date. Thank you so much for the work you do. It's so needed. Please please please keep going!!!
I love this, for all of it but mostly the friendships you have, it’s lovely to see you just hanging out with your mates xx
I really needed this video, seeing you all enjoy yourselves while making mistakes was just cathartic❤❤
Thank you, you never miss at making me feel better
Thank you.
Seriously loving the documentary vibes you do on this channel. I love seeing you constantly trying new things out. Love the song. Thanks for existing.
as someone born and raised in West Virginia, in the heart of the appalachian mountains, with a family that's been here for many generations, obviously country music runs super deep in the history and culture here.
i've got a big appreciation for it, and definitely a whole lot of respect for you for perusing this kind of thing ❤
it's always been pretty disheartening to hear people say they hate it over and over.
this is some incredibly well made content, dude. cant wait to see what you do next
OMG! I enjoyed this so much! It's profound wisdom in this time of writing my new year's resolutions...
thanks for keeping up teh great content and keeping our head up in times like these
I’ve loved country music all my life - I connect with it and it makes me truly happy - like it’s okay to have a bad day here and there.
Thank you for living your dream, brother 💙
thanks man! going thru a big hiccup right now. the thought that the hiccup isnt the enemy but the source of great art is helping a lot
That song you made, it gave me so many good vibes! I'd love to listen to it on repeat for hours :D great doc, as usual!!
Every single one of your videos has the astral yeehaw my dude. I've had goosebumps all day today!! I feel so inspired. Thank you
DUUUDDDEEEE The videos just keep getting deeper and better 😍🤣 It seems that everytime you put out a video you bring us to these realisations at exactly the times we need to hear it.
Thank you ❤
Struthless 2.0 was definitely a great move - this was a really nice documentary. You're going to have to think of a million subscriber challenge soon!
As a songwriter, this hits. Hit the nail on the head, Cam! And loving this new docco series.
this is the best account on the creative process that I have ever seen
I was really needing this, thank you
I need this to Spotify ASAP
Yessss
8:00 mins in so far and I bloody love this video. The production is 💯
I'm early, so in case you're looking at the comments right now: thank you for sharing your creativity with the world! Your storytelling, as well as your editing skills, as well as the wide range of interesting topics you cover in your videos: it's all so good! I loooooove it! Also, I wanted to let you know that a few months ago, i was surprised to see your face in a Dutch newspaper!! (It was an article/recommendation about your "fond video")
OK, that's it, I'm gonna watch the rest of this video now 😉 Cheers from the Netherlands and have a nice day!
I am loving these little mini docus or video essays you’ve been putting out. you’re an excellent story teller and visual artist. I’ve always loved reading essay collections but you’re the first I’ve seen out that format into video and it’s wonderful, thank you!
Besides working, getting drunk and hangover, you definitely inspire us a lot dude
The song's stuck in my head from just the first play, so I think you did a pretty damn good job.
The Astral Yeehaw just might be the antithesis of artificial intelligence. Brilliant video😊
I don't like country music!
Am i going to like it after watching this??
"More cocaine than cowboy" Got me hard 😂😂
This whole video (and the rest of them) are an infinite astral yeehaws! You have been looking for it, but actually, you're mastering it!
I personally don't know if I'm far or close to reach what I wished or wanted to be, but I feel more in peace with my mistakes and moving towards something. Thank you for teaching me to move forward! I hope to do grand things as you someday.
I’ve had this bloody song stuck in my head for an entire day now.
I’d be mad about it if it wasn’t so damn good.
💙
This new video/doco of yours is by far one of the best examples of how human created content, with real human-ness in it, will ALWAYS be better art than Ai will ever be able to produce.
On another note, I have had the idea of producing new videos and a new channel, utilizing hand written notes and drawings, just like you did here. Thank you for showing me that the idea is not only a good one, it is a fantastic one. I appreciate the inspiration.
Thank you for making this doco!
You are leveling up, baby, and it makes me want to fallow you.
Thank you.
I was crying throughout the song, definitely felt the Astral yeehaw :)
dude I love this so much! you gotta do more music man!!!! I am definitely gonna be covering working drunk or hungover ....reminiscent of ramshackle glory or days n' daze
This gives me an early 2010s vibe I really love and missed.
23:59 Replay button for myself untill this gets released on spotify
I'm a Texan and I'm totally fascinated that you know who Charlie Pride was.
Charlie Pride was huge in Australia and not just for country music fans...
@@HalfPastSleep That makes me so happy! He was a genuinely good person and a fine musician.
This documentary gave me a really warm feeling. I think I learned something new about myself and I really enjoyed watching this. Thank you!!
Thank you for this video. From time to time, I do feel like a failure. It's a tough cycle to deal with.
thats great sophia
Saw you with a banjo and instantly clicked...I've been wanting to get a banjo and learn it for a while now 💞
You're a great singer and player!!
Trying to write down the lyrics, but missing some since it's not my first language. I'll edit if you guys can help out.

Jesus, why don't you come over?
It's a Tuesday night and I'm so far from sober
I blame your blood again! I got work at 9 am
I'm working, I'm drunk or hungover
Life was meant to be a little more than this
You turned water into wine
I turned wine into piss
I've been tryin' to save my money but I got
nothing to show for
I'm working, I'm drunk or hungover
Jesus, why don't you come over?
It's a Tuesday night and I'm so far from sober
I blame your blood again! I got work at 9 am!
I'm working, I'm drunk or hungover
Your dad gave you magic
and mine gave me bipolar.
He sent you here to die
but at least you got some closure.
So join me for some spritzers
take it easy on your guilt trips
we'll be working or drunk or hungover
So come and bring your cup!
We'll fill that fucker up!
We'll make Noah's ark
look like a tinny!
We'll bitch about our dads,
every job we've ever had,
we'll take two of every drink
and get silly!
For 40 days and 40 nights
we'll drink Jack (???) ale and ice
We'll get jobs that don't care
if you boil over
If you teach me how to pray,
I'll write your resume!
We'll be working or drunk or hungover!
(Piano intermission)
Your dad gave you magic
and mine gave me bipolar.
He sent you here to die
but at least you got some closure.
So join me for some spritzers
take it easy on your guilt trips
we'll be working or
DRUNK
or hungooover!
Possibly my favourite UA-cam video I’ve watched (not just of yours, and I’ve been following you for years, but EVER). So so good.
Im not american but I love the vibe of American country music especially cash
Ive been putting so much pressure on myself, trying to figure out what direction to take creatively. Ive taken all the fun out of it and Ive turned into a total brick, unable to work on anything because it's never good enough. I expect everything I make to be an astral yeehaw. Its gotten to a point where I don't take action because it makes me so anxious. Thank you for this video. Thank you for doing what you do, because this inspired me so much to just mess around and have fun again.
