This is the period when she was living in Las Vegas as she explains in her book. I like the hairstyle. It reminds me a lot of Janet’s hair during the Velvet Rope era, especially in the I Get Lonely video. Latoya should have stuck with this look.

This is a very rare and interesting interview. Thanks for posting this. I’ve always been interested in the hair of La Toya’s hair. I like to think that this is mostly her natural hair. That hairline has me questioning that though. It looks too perfect. If you go and look at pictures of her from 1996 before her divorce she was very pale and still bleaching her skin. Clearly here she had taken a break from that. Look at her neck and hands, as well as her face. She does look identical to Janet here. Eerily so. This is one of the few interviews she did in the 1997-1998 in the USA. This one, the MadTV and the Howie Mandel Show are the few she did in the states. She was still doing appearances in South America and in European countries but very little in the states. She wrote of this in her second book. It’s just interesting that for five or six years she was basically MIA in the states. Zero music. Zero interviews. Zero tabloid press. That’s so crazy to me.
I think it might be a lacefront, especially since Rupaul's team styled her that day. Lacefronts back then, women wore textures , styles that were more realistic compared to now where you can tell from a mile away that it's one. But I think Latoya started lightening her hair right after this during her " Starting Over " era, There's a photo of her were she has a similar style during that comeback album and you can tell it was her hair.
