Dude, you add something to your reactions that nobody else does. I don't know whether it's your style, knowledge, musical empathy or whatever but I am down for watching every reaction you do of Ren, Chinchilla (once you've done a Ren X Chinchilla song) and more of the Big Push. Cheers my Dude for what was another excellent reaction.
Given his reaction to harmonies, I'd absolutely love to see him do How to Be Me (live) with Chinchilla... also some of the live acoustics both solo and with The Big Push. Great Reaction!
My daughter was in school with Ren so I’m fully aware about his back story. To see your excitement and appreciation of him as an artist and his co band members in the big push. Thank for giving us your professional perspective of what’s going on, I’m no musician but I do love many genres of music.
So glad i found your reactions! Your excitement and joy about this music are coming right trough the screen into my room. Makes me smile the whole time😊.
I’m psyched! This is my favorite by them, but I’m an 80s girl who bought this original album on vinyl on release day in 1988. 😂 Such an excellent cover. Can’t wait to see what you think. ❤
and on the third day (hers, not yours), she got up before birding and immediately watched this reaction from a time zone three hours ahead of the reactor, and she was pleased. you know what? i cannot wait to see you see ren play bass. that was the second instrument i learned he could play. that was also the first big push video i watched (wade in the water/trouble so hard/nina simone). i think i lost my mind that day. turns out that in the big push, all three of the guys you see here (gorran on bass, ren, and romain on acoustic) can play both guitar and bass. i don't know if the drummer glenn (not in this video) plays other instruments or not, but i would not be surprised. you will come to learn during your travels down the big push tunnel of the rabbit hole that these guys are extremely good together. nobody is carrying the others in this band - they're all so, so good at what they do. but yes. i can't wait til you see ren play bass. there's a lot of things i can't wait for, actually. but i shall, because you have a life to live. it's not your fault that i am 3 months into the ren era of my life, and you're like a week. (warning - this is now an era of your life. like high school, or vegetarianism, or the three years you dated so-and-so. this is the ren era. i'm beginning to suspect, though, that this one doesn't end.) oh. did i mention? i really enjoyed your reaction.
I think you'll find most of us guitarists are at bare minimum better than novice bass players. A lot of us just pick up any stringed instrument and apply similar concepts but adjust fingering accordingly. I'll say though, the musical virtuosity that I've identified in these guys thus far tells me that they're all likely multifaceted
I bought the Sting compilation and always skipped this song. The Big Push completely reinvented the song for me. They increased the tempo, added harmonies, kept a strong reggae and acoustic unplugged feel etc SOLD. I was a huge fan as a teen of the early Police albums when they came out. Zenyatta Mondatta was one of my earliest and proudest buys on vinyl. I’m so stoked now that I (as a middle aged mum) broke my no social media, or Spotify rule and downloaded Spotify just for Ren and The Big Push and liked all the songs and added to my library all the one’s I like. Believe me it was a painful decision and may only be temporary but it was important for me to show support to these artists who have reignited my faith that there is actually organic original talent unsullied out there. Thanks for the great reaction mate! Cheers from downunder ✌🏼
The interesting thing about all the musicians in The Big Push is that they often switch up instruments. Romain Axisa is playing the acoustic here which is often the instrument of Gorran Kendall (bass in this one), and Ren often plays bass with Romain as lead guitar. So they're not just extremely talented on one instrument, but switch it up. Ren used to play drums for the Push (he says he wasn't very good) until Glen joined them (not in this one). Ren also plays piano. I think you'll love their cover of Praise You which is really clean and simple, and also their own song It's Alright (live). You're officially a RENegade! Welcome to the rabbit hole. It's lots of fun.
Really enjoying your Ren reactions and looking forward to many many more as you dive deeper down the rabbit hole. I've spent the last couple of months addicted to his content and watching reactions and yours are top notch. ✌️
My fave reactors are those who are musically knowledgeable, articulate, and enthusiastic. You check the box on all these. This and REN’s Walking on the Moon with Sam T are first reaction I have seen if yours. Happy to have found your channel today!
When listening to Ren the last Ren track you listened to is automatically your favourite! Even if you’ve listened to it before! At least that’s how it works for me lol. Loving your reactions, man. Ren is a phenomenon!
This is my 2nd favourite from the original 😁 Ren, Romain Axisa and Gorran Kendall have there own UA-cam channels and so much talent. They play and sing so well together. Swan Song is beautiful and simple. Praise You also their voices brilliant. Bongo Bong is 👍👍👍 and more 😁👍
I REALY love this band! ❤You have GOT to listen to Chalk Outlines with Chinchilla. She has the voice of an ANGEL! 🤷♀️✌️🫶🫂🔥🎶 again, ANYTHING REN will do!💃💃✌️🤷♀️. Have you heard of NF? ANOTHER good one! J/S
You're going to love The Big Push Bongo Bong, Sweet Little Lady live acoustic, Wade in the Water, then I shot the Sheriff which was immediately followed by War Pigs live.... "who wants to get kicked in the face" - everyone watching said yes!!!!
@@walterooski I'd love you to see some of the older stuff, when Ren was misdiagnosed & struggling & then the journey into him finally getting it & learning how to dance with his self through his journey...
I can’t tell you how wonderful a compliment like this is. To date, I haven’t watch other reactors. I don’t want to get in my head that this thing I enjoy is a competition (which my brain WILL do whether I want it to or not) and I don’t want to accidentally absorb a style of reacting that’s anything but my own. Perhaps once I get far enough in the Ren journey that’ll change, but for the time being, I don’t want to fix something that isn’t broken and I don’t want to find out anything more than my journey will open. I love that my knowledge of Ren comes now from 6 songs and the comments section. To me, that’s part of the most fun element of doing this thing. It genuinely feels like a journey you’re observing and supporting me through, and in its own way, that feels sacred. The collection of kindred spirits that seem to have amassed here over the beauty of this artistry through music is astounding and getting to be the one that provides that forum feels magical. That you feel this way means the world, my friend!
@@walterooski I whole heartedly agree, your reaction are so organic unlike some of the others I've seen, keep doing you my friend it's an absolute pleasure to watch 👌💪
Love this song. This version is great, listen to it often. Just listed to The Big Push's version of "What Kind of Woman is This" which I really like also, and would love to hear a reaction.
Dude McDuderson, I am friggin' honored. Thank you for going out of your way to make me feel good about myself, it genuinely means the world. Welcome to the Rooskis, my friend!
the big push really is a great team, they are all so good, and so fabulous together. they've gone their separate ways while he is in Canada. Gotta keep making there ££. But I hope they pick each other up again when he gets back.
I’ve noticed that, in the videos I’ve reacted to that he plays that guitar, it seems like he’s always cruising on the bridge pickup. I don’t even see the pickup switch on the guitar so it might just be stuck there 😂 I’m sure he could change it if he wanted to, but I think a lot of guitar players fight tooth and nail to find the sound they want to be “theirs” and perhaps this was his. Not sure.
I don't believe Ren is tone chasing during a song.I think he sets up the pick up tone and that is it for the duration. He plays so much on the classical and acoustic too . There is a youtbe clip of Ren and Sam Tomkins playing It's a Mans world where he uses an RC-30 looper and distortion pedal
I truly believe that I prefer this version of the song to the original. For reference, Ren’s tele is a Japanese standard. Much love from Scotland 🏴
I read your comments and hear a brogue accent in my head and I think that’s bad ass. My favorite musician ever, Scott Hutchison (lead singer of Frightened Rabbit) was from Selkirk and I’ve always felt like I was born in the wrong country 😂 Thanks for being here and caring enough to say so, bro! I’m honored to have you by!
Repositioning your screen so you don’t obscure the main picture would be real bonus. By making the band video slightly smaller but complete, you retain the original integrity of the composition.
M’kay, I’m trying to envision what you’re saying here. In an effort to understand your comment, would you explain to me what you mean by obscuring the main picture? Is it a loss of quality that is being experienced when seeing the video of the band, my camera frame overtop of the video, or something totally different altogether? Forgive me, I lack a sense of visualization that seems to come naturally to most. I’m an audible thinker
❤
Just want you guys to know you've made Walter's day/week/month/year even if he won't say it himself in public
Dude, you add something to your reactions that nobody else does. I don't know whether it's your style, knowledge, musical empathy or whatever but I am down for watching every reaction you do of Ren, Chinchilla (once you've done a Ren X Chinchilla song) and more of the Big Push.

There are no slouches in Ren’s musical world. They’re all pretty damn amazing all on their own.
Think you'll really like their "Bongo Bong" cover. Another live recording with these three. Nice reaction!

One of my favorites. So much more umph added to the way Sting did this. This gets my juices revved up and chair dance.
