Real folks right there. I could sit and just listen to the stories until they run out of them. I cried hearing that story about Maggie giving that boy a soda and a candy bar. What an amazing family I'm so glad I found this channel. I'm going to watch everyone and then plan a trip to visit the stores and places I'll be able to get to. Thank you for sharing these with us. I look at these folks as if they were my own relatives. The stories they share tell of life's hardships but you can hear the love and joy in all of them.
My Mom passed in 21 and she had 4 boys and she had her hands full but to listen to these ladies talk about their Mom sure brought back a lot of memories of my Mom and I mis her so much
That peice Ralph said about telling it like it is cause they just qint no other way to tell it. Thats how come hes lived so long and was blessed with beautiful honest daughters. Love and respect to you and yours Mr. Ralph. 🇺🇸🙏🇺🇸
Watching the six sisters reminisce about the past was amazing. Reminds me of my sisters and mother too. I was blessed to have had 8 sisters. Have 6 sisters now and always enjoy getting together with them.
What a beautiful loving family! Thank you for telling their Mama's story and Mr Ralphs... what a blessing she must have been to her friends neighbors and family! Families just like this 1 are in my eyes the heart and soul of our country. World really... well done

Really enjoyed watching, real nice decent Americans and country folk. Not like the trashy Hollywood types and corrupt politicians we get to see on the television here from the US. Fan from Buckinghamshire England.
I have been watching Greasy Hollow Memories for the last week during my knee rehab. This is one of my favorites. What a wonderful tribute! I could just listen to those stories for hours. I live about an hour from Ralph in upper E. Tennessee, and I love exploring the hidden and forgotten places, but your series has made me realize it's the people that make this area special.
This is great! I met Ralph a long time ago when the general store was open. My mom is his cousin and her family is buried at the top of the hill. I wish she was alive to see this. She would have loved it.
The photo of Mr Ralph and his Wife what a stunning couple they were and to have all their, daughters. I would have loved a sister I got 5 brothers and I am the only girl plus I am the youngest too..
What an amazing American family! I would love to see a series of videos of Ralph's daughter just going through their days. They are an amazing, loving family that has been through so much. Nobody but nobody loves your videos as much as I! You did right buy unshackling yourself from the store, instead of going out to show America that most of us know nothing about. The historical aspect itself is priceless. You have an uncanny ability for interviewing and sensitivity for capturing the right things.
I am glad you found my Channel here on UA-cam. THANKS you so much for watching my videos and then making a comment. Comments help the video get recommended by UA-cam to other watchers and helps the channel grow. John Ward

You didn’t have to live in Appalachia to live this life. In rural Alabama we did everything thing this family did. Listen to the girls brought tears to my eyes. I remember my sweet mama working her fingers to the bone taking in laundry and cleaning other people’s houses to buy what we needed when school started back. We even had a Lisa that came along late and we watched her while my mom was working. It was amazing when they said their mama went to work at the shirt factory because believe it or not so did mine. I remember how thrilled everyone was when we found out that the shirt factory was coming to town because it meant jobs for the women in the county. Blessings to this family.
Such a great Family! Raloh always brings a good laugh, and lot's of smiles. His Girls are very lucky to still have their precious Daddy. Thanks for sharing them, John! Great Job, as always !! God Bless and keep All of You!

Wow, what lovely memories. The sisters are fantastic. I have 3 sisters and they remind me of all of us when we get together. I love the story when your Mother gave the kid the candy bar when he couldn’t afford it, that sums it up,for me what a kind and considerate woman she must have been. Thank you and the photos and video reels are precious. I love Appalachian history, being Irish it resonates with me somehow, maybe because of all the Irish immigration to these parts. Thanks for the comment and watching the video. It was a great honor for me to make almost 40 videos with Ralph Robertson that I filmed over a two year period. Since his passing in December they have been a surge in his video views here on UA-cam. The series was first posted a few years back on Facebook but at that time the UA-cam Channel only had about 2k subscribers.
