Rare -> Eren emerges from the titan "welcome to the real show!"
Have seen this once/twice -> The titan in the walls is revealed "now the plot actually starts!"
Never saw this -> Armor and Colossal reveal "the prologue is over!!"
Never saw this -> The government is outed/ousted "This is the start of the real story!"

@@drew_porter806 Totally agreed that if there's one spot it works best, it's here! Although even then I'm still kinda like, yall, it's a mystery show! You wouldn't watch a mystery film and call the whole thing "the prologue" and the reveal at the end "the actual plot." 😂

The commentary afterwards is a pleasure. Its clear you two dont just view-farm AoT to boost the channel, but that youre actually invested and pay attention. Reactors with actually functional marbles like you two are pretty rare.

@@DannyConceptsThe author worked on the anime and anything the manga readers didn't like he changed in the anime which is why aot is a near pear perfect story. He would look at all criticisms or wtv as feedback and make it better in the anime
@@DannyConcepts it’s a little more blatant in the anime tbh. The Eren reveal in Marley later on wasn’t even obvious in the manga, but in the anime you know immediately because of the voice actor and the coloring.
Keep in mind that manga readers also had to wait a month between each chapter coming out so the cliffhangers and speculations hit different in the community.
@ishtarrs that's one thing I've always appreciated. Isayama's involvement and the anime's inclusion of him in production. Too many shows and movies lack the care that AoT had to deliver something worthwhile. I just can't think of another story that impacted me to the extent of AoT.

The subtle brilliance of this show... It's overwhelming. Grishas introduction of the world to us is one of the most amazing things I've ever witnessed in media. Of course over time we've figured some things out but the way he relays it in his own story and the voiceover filled with emotion and sorrow... It's just so perfect. And most skip over it but the ending song playing over the memories of us getting to where we are with our crew is sooooo emotional. And later on you'll find that this plays into a bigger theme of the show... Memories are very very important. They create us, make us who we are. And the abilities of titans to transcend those memories to others is a curse... A curse that eventually changes Eren forever. The true curse of the titan race isn't the power to destroy, it's the endurance of hatred by memory.

I mean, they are all soldiers how have to run around and fly with grapples all while carrying gas tanks and metal boxes with blades in them, you kinda HAVE to be very fit to do any of that for more than just a few minutes tbh

Honestly that scene at 6:10 always stuck with me. To me it really showed how Grisha really cared for Eren. He wanted Eren to make his own decisions and not be influenced by others. And what is truly important is family. Grisha is honestly my favorite character in the series. Usually whenever he shows up. My mind is always blown away. Can’t wait for you to get to season 4. My favorite show in all of media!
A lot of people are surprised that Armin is ripped but I just think everyone is ripped in the scouts because you kinda have to be to control the ODM gear they use lol

yeah idk why this is surprising people, he is a military aged male, on a restricted diet, who has been training and doing intense work and combat nearly every day for years. Of course he will be lean

@@kayden2119 Ironically you will generally look smaller when you’re ripped, compared to a higher bf. It’s not like armin has a ton of muscle or anything. Being ripped doesn’t rly equate to size.
From personal experience when i was at my leanest with a shirt on i looked fairly average, let alone a whole uniform.

I am so excited to see how the rest of the show turns out for you guys. Some people have criticisms going forward from here. I don't share those feelings personally. I started this show when it first came out and before knowing about the manga. I purposefuly only referenced the manga up to where the show was at the time. It was a long wait, and the ending aired the year following my mom passing away from cancer. This show is just so rich in subtext, so compelling in its plot and plot twists, so impactful with its character development. I just have never seen anything to this level of accomplishment in any form of media. If (when you finish) you really sit with it, digest it, disect it, revisit it, etc. It just has so much to give.
You both got the feels when they were walking to the basement, can you imagine how it felt to people like me, that waited years for this to finally happen. I couldn't breath and I couldn't believe they will finally reach it.

I love how watchers react to the reveal! The thoughts that run through the mind are crazy. The theories that came up when we had to wait a week for the next yep were insane.
I'd imagine abs being pretty common among scouts. They exercise A LOT and I imagine the 3D maneuver gear requires a lot of core strength.
Not to mention they aren't exactly the best fed. Armin is a soldier! He went through years of training and passed the tests! Ofc he gonna be in shape :D
i still remember when this episode came out. we all had our insane theories about what was in the basement ranging from titan cures to superweapons to time machines and more. no one could ever guess it would be something as simple as a photograph. (and books but thats for nerds)
From here on everything changes.

@Haylo & Kiss To better understand all this, I recommend exploring the topic of the Warsaw ghetto during the German occupation during World War II. The bands, walls and division of people will be clearer. You can find a lot of similarities there. Movie Pianist can be helpfull too(highly recommanded to watch)
100% recommend The Pianist, but I would be _EXTREMELY_ careful about drawing parallels between Jewish ghettos and those in AoT. Elements of the AoT story, if taken to fully parallel Jewish ghettos, also feed in to anti-Jewish conspiracies and propaganda.
Which may have been unintended. But I wouldn't be surprised if it was intentional given Isayama's respect for the horrific Japanese general that served as inspiration for Pyxis.
True, im fully respect jews, history etc. Just some semilaryties to better understand to what's going on on anime, but mostly to teach about real world history.
@@JustACrow107 that's totally fair!! Just wanted to point out that there has been some... Let's say "interesting" controversy regarding the parallels to Jewish history.
I don't know how true this is, but I read somewhere that AOT was heavily based on the German's in World War II. So, your statement about the camps was correct. I don't want to give too much away, but while it is heavily in reference to WW2, it ends completely differently than you would expect. Isayama (the creator of Attack on Titan) is a genius and does a great job of giving you small details throughout the show, even in the first episode, about the ending. When you finish the show, I recommend going back and watching it from the beginning just so you can notice the hints and little details you missed the first time around. it will genuinely blow your mind about how much the entire story was already told before season 4. Also can't wait for you to hear season 4 openings. Absolute bangers!
I love the symbolism of flight being such a strong metaphor in this show. The way they use birds and airships for hope. I can't wait to see you both get to the end of this. I think you both are killing it by the way Haylo & kiss. Keep doing your thing! ✊

I love that even though we (and also the characters) have already figured out there is some kind of more advanced human society outside the walls the little glimpses of that world still feel mind blowing. The photograph, the quick shot of the airship, even Grisha’s clothing and the architecture of the buildings are so effective at immediately telling the viewer exactly what kind of world is outside.
And having watched a couple of these reactions I love how everyone tries to figure out who is in the photo before doing a double take and realizing “wait of course they don’t know what photography is!” lol
