Thank you. This was the most detailed video I’ve found to install these. Just got mine in today and ready to attempt this without my husband 😂
Good luck! The hardest part was really just putting the seals on. Other than that, I don't think you'll have any problems.
@@RoadandReel well, it was a flop unfortunately. I got the seals on, and was quite proud of how well I got them on lol. Installed the bolts, and started on the first one. It wasn’t a good fit and the top wanted to putt away from the fender. Sending them back. No matter how much I adjusted them, and even drug hubby out to make sure it wasn’t me. Neither of us could get them to work. 🤦🏼♀️
@@signsoflove6605 ah, that's unfortunate. I wonder if they were just made wrong. I know a lot of these companies have been cranking these out with little to no quality control. Do you plan on ordering another set?
@@RoadandReel probably. I didn’t have the same brand as you, just the same style. But now that I stumbled across your video, I may be giving the ones you have a try!
Great video. You made it easy to understand!! I've decided I'm going to get these and give the 2010 a little makeover. Thanks for the share brother
Fender flares are nice but holy shit that's a clean ass truck man. Like a mirror 👌🏼👌🏼
Lol, I think this is my only video where it's clean!
Sorry bud, I tried watching this video but the advertisement every two minutes is really aggravating.
Good to know. I didn't know there was advertising every two minutes. UA-cam sets that automatically, but I'll go in and change it.
I just went in and fixed it.
Right Left..did it come with an extra flare?🤣🤣
Oh, I only do extra flare! Everywhere I go, people comment on my right left flare!
Thanks great instructions and very to the point 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Appreciate the tutorial brother.
Precise, informative and very helpful.
I'm glad it helped!
Great video thanks! Question: were the mounting hardware screws plastic? Mine were (GMC kit). Being plastic they are difficult to push thru without bending them.
Mine were metal and it used the original hardware for the inner fenders.
Helpful, I just installed my Bushwackers using your video. Took a little longer than guestimated due to the gasket being a bit tricky for the 1st time. Went on & looks good. Thanks
Glad it worked! Those gaskets are really tricky, but I hear bushwhacker makes some good ones.
I’ve seen many people have to remove their hemi logo was this an issue for you at all? or anyone? any answers are appreciated!
I don't have any badges, so I can't answer that. Hopefully someone else can chime in. I think as long as there is 5" or more between your emblems and the edge of your fender lip, then you'll be fine.
I’m new to trucks, can anyone tell me what the purpose of these are? Are they mostly cosmetic or do they serve a useful purpose?
It keeps the mud/dirt from flinging up into your face when your head is hanging out while watching your tires when off-road or up on your doors and windows. Some states also require them if your tires are wider than your fenders.
They will wear through your paint All the way around the top edge! Don’t use them
4 years and 60,000 miles would say otherwise.
Tell me which side the right left goes on? 😂
April fool's! That was my plan all along...
Thank you for the video. How much width do these ones add per side?
About 1 1/2 to 2".
@@RoadandReel thank you sir
I got an idea, why not spray some Vinyl Wrap before the fender flares and protect it from Rust/Moisture. Also, maybe a small hole or two underneath for air ciruclation so moisture gets out
That could work. These ones aren't perfectly sealed on the bottom, but I'm sure a few extra holes wouldn't hurt, especially in the wetter/snowier areas.
I am installing a set of these and will be using either a rubber spray or clear tape to protect the paint at the gasket contact point.
Great video buddy. Thanks
No problem, thanks for watching!
All that cleaning, and rubbing, completely mised the bottom lip full of grit and mud...😮
@@DL101ca Did I?
I just took mine off ,now to keep from get sprayed in the face while driving ,I jus keep my head in the cab,
That's a good idea, but when I'm on some trails, it's either hang your head out to watch your tires or lose a fender or two.
Not that easy
What did you struggle with? The hardest part for me was adding the seal around the edge.
Hi @JP Hampton Outdoors - DIY I was wondering if we could use your video as an installation example of the Spec-D product.
Sure thing, as long as I'm credited properly. And I'm always open to do more installation videos that you might need 😁 my contact email can be found in my profile.
they would look better if they matched color of the truck
To each their own. I prefer this look, but I'm sure you could get them painted for your truck.
he says “RL which is right left” 😂
Lol, I probably meant rear left. My mouth gets moving faster than my brain, sometimes 😁
😂
actually supposed to cut the bends per instructions..lol
Next time...
what's the Bug in the garage??!?😎🤙
Ha, that was my pieced together 1969 that I sold a few months ago. I now have an all original 65 that I drive almost daily. It needs paint and interior, but it does 75 on the freeway and gets better gas mileage than my truck 😁
did you think about using a film underneath the flares?
I've seen people use a clear tape. I don't see any wear, but in the right conditions it may cause a problem. I know most of the dealer installed flares don't have a film under them.
Is it fit on Hilux sr520.?
This company doesn't make them for that truck and we don't have the Hilux here in the states, but I'm sure there are companies out there making this style of flares for them.
What brand are those buddy
Spec-D. I put a link in the description.
I thought people drill the bolts visible on the side too ?
Companies have those kind, but I didn't want to drill my fenders.
No, bolts are for looks only.
How tall are those flares
These are the larger 5" flares.
Did you need to glue the gasket to the car or are the bolts only thing holding it down?
It's only the bolts on the underside holding it on. It's very rigid and secure.
@@RoadandReel Thank you!
Where did you buy them? Or could u send link
I bought them here www.protuninglab.com/fdf-ram1025-ts-rs.html Amazon has them occasionally, but I could never find them in stock.
How many inches of this overfender is on the outside??
is there an over fender with a wider output than this?
This is the largest I've seen. The outer lip extends 4.5" over the fender.
Is it a bushwacker??
@@kazukazu7262 these are the Spec D pocket flares
@@RoadandReel
Thank You😀💯
Ifrom Japan!!😂👌
Very cool !
Se mira perrona
They're a little cheaper, but they're doing their job and still hanging in there. I've put them through hell and back.
Are these textured
Yes, kind of like a bed liner texture.
Where did you get these from

Hello. Great video. What make & model of headlights are those on your rig? Do you have a videolink for your headlight install?
Thx Mike
My headlights are just the factory lights from Dodge. I have the projector beams. I did a headlight install with some aftermarket lights, but I couldn't get them adjusted, so I tossed them and never posted the video.
I'm trying to find my right left piece but i don't think i have one 😏
😂😂😂
It's at the back rear most likely...
