Nissan Leaf has now became one of my top 3 cars I'd want to own in the entire world. How funny would the reactions be if you asked people if they wanted to race your Leaf and you bring this lol
I know the Nismo LEAF back in 2011 was Nissan showing off what its new drivetrain can do. It literally has the same motor and batteries from the standard hatchback. I wish the Nismo LEAF had its own custom and far more powerful motor and battery just like how the Altima here was heavily modified.
Coool .. Electric motors have got some large advantages over ICE. Such as, seamless acceleration, Higher torque, naturally quicker until compared to optimum racing gas engines, benefitting from over a century of development. I'd like to see the Rimac concept1 in the mix?
EVs are over 100years old as well... EVs does have all the advantages you talked about but there are also many disadvantages and that is why they don't use them for the big races.. that said most if not all of the disadvantages has to do with the battery.. you can't do a 24hrs race, you can't fast charge if you run it hard like on a track.. typically you got like 15mins before the batteries are drained and need a long cool off time or they will explode...

why can't Australians say GTR ? The announcer was saying what sounded like GDR. A racing leaf?! that's cool and very interesting, it can barely get 125 miles realworld driving. I can' t imagine the race is set to be very long.Wow, i can't believe it ended photo finish between the GT and the leaf.
in all honestly u must be a GTR fan, i am too but i dont confuse facts. No victory can be given to a car that took off seconds ahead, and the loser had to play catch
No victory can be given to a car with race package compare to road package either. This vid shows the Leaf isn't alot slower than GTR if it got similar power and the GTR would probably outrun a V8 SC if it got same amount of power.

The race was incredible considering the Nismo Leaf used a basically standard running gear electronics and battery. It's a test bed for future development. Could YOU put your standard 1,400cc running gear in a lightweight glider to take on these other two cars?

The GTR could be faster than that. Surprisingly the V8 can't catch the GTR but the Nismo Leaf lead GTR by an inch. or less.
