This was great. I can relate to so many of the connections she’s made about Christianity. But I also love her honesty, about her experiences with the religion. I also like getting into the nerdiness and theology, and have too found that many churches are lacking in their sermons etc. I love how even though she discovered truth in Christianity, she’s also able to speak honestly about her initial church experiences not being great etc. I feel like her being honest about the entirety of her experiences is so relatable and real. I feel like poor repetitive sermons are a big issue in the church these days. But ultimately I don’t think it should separate us from the truth & the love of God, and she bares witness to that. Since, as a new Christian, she could’ve easily been put off etc.
I also think it’s beautiful how she had an intellectual approach to wanting to find truth and God, since this pursuit relates to current times, wherein people are generally on a pursuit of knowledge. And generally spirituality/religion, more so Christianity is perceived as inferior intellectually, as she says. Her testimony bares witness to the fact that we worship a God who has been established in truth, can proven by history & thus a God who satisfies many of our intellectual concerns. This highlights an aspect of the faith, that isn’t generally discussed in testimony, which will make it appealing to people on a quest for truth and knowledge in the world.
I would love to learn more about how she navigated learning about both religions, as well as the resources she used. I would just like to explore both religions more than I have in the past, for the sake of a loved one.
I appreciated listening to her so much.

I've seen this video 5 times, and I really like how the girl seems convincing and confident about what she is saying. I focused on her talks from minute 34 to 40.
I have done a VERY simple exercice with CHatGPT as I dont have time to read the full Quraan and holy bible to verify her statements and SURPRISINGNLY NOT only she IS WRONG , but clearly the factual verses from the QURAAN CONTRADICT the 3 points she mentioned about ISLAM, in a very CLEAR manner :
" So I have asked ChatGPT the below , using the exact script /Words from Yasmeen from min 34 to 40 :
"as theologist expert in the bible and Quraan, can you list the Ayat verses ( if any ) from the Quraan that state or can be interpreted : i) Jesus NOT claiming to be God in the Quaraan ii) that the Bible from Jesus has been deformed and not well preserved from its first version, and should not be used as the book of God but should be replaced by Quraan from Mohamad iii) Prophets and Messengers in the Qurran commited sins and were not sinless"
here is the copy paste response from ChatGPT :
    i) Jesus Not Claiming to be God in the Quran
    Surah Al-Ma'idah (5:116-117)
"And [beware the Day] when Allah will say, 'O Jesus, Son of Mary, did you say to the people, 'Take me and my mother as deities besides Allah?' He will say, 'Exalted are You! It was not for me to say that to which I have no right. If I had said it, You would have known it. You know what is within myself, and I do not know what is within Yourself. Indeed, it is You who is Knower of the unseen. I said not to them except what You commanded me - to worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord.'"
    Surah Al-Ma'idah (5:72)
"They have certainly disbelieved who say, 'Allah is the Messiah, the son of Mary' while the Messiah has said, 'O Children of Israel, worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord.' Indeed, he who associates others with Allah - Allah has forbidden him Paradise, and his refuge is the Fire. And there are not for the wrongdoers any helpers."
ii) The Bible Being Deformed and Not Well Preserved
    Surah Al-Baqarah (2:79)
"So woe to those who write the 'scripture' with their own hands, then say, 'This is from Allah,' in order to exchange it for a small price. Woe to them for what their hands have written and woe to them for what they earn."
    Surah Al-Ma'idah (5:13-15)
"But because of their breach of their covenant, We cursed them and made their hearts hard. They distort words from their [proper] usages and have forgotten a portion of that of which they were reminded. And you will still observe deceit among them, except a few of them. But pardon them and overlook [their misdeeds]. Indeed, Allah loves the doers of good. And from those who say, 'We are Christians' We took their covenant; but they forgot a portion of that of which they were reminded. So We caused among them animosity and hatred until the Day of Resurrection. And Allah is going to inform them about what they used to do. O People of the Scripture, there has come to you Our Messenger to make clear to you much of what you used to conceal of the Scripture and overlook much. There has come to you from Allah a light and a clear Book."
    Surah Al-Ma'idah (5:48)
"And We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], the Book in truth, confirming that which preceded it of the Scripture and as a criterion over it. So judge between them by what Allah has revealed and do not follow their inclinations away from what has come to you of the truth. To each of you We prescribed a law and a method. Had Allah willed, He would have made you one nation [united in religion], but [He intended] to test you in what He has given you; so race to [all that is] good. To Allah is your return all together, and He will [then] inform you concerning that over which you used to differ."
iii) Prophets and Messengers in the Quran Committing Sins
    Surah Al-Qasas (28:15-16)
"And he entered the city at a time of inattention by its people and found therein two men fighting: one from his faction and one from among his enemy. And the one from his faction called for help to him against the one from his enemy, so Moses struck him and [unintentionally] killed him. Moses said, 'This is from the work of Satan. Indeed, he is a manifest, misleading enemy.' He said, 'My Lord, indeed I have wronged myself, so forgive me,' and He forgave him. Indeed, He is the Forgiving, the Merciful."
    Surah As-Saffat (37:142-144)
"Then the fish swallowed him, while he was blameworthy. And had he not been of those who exalt Allah, he would have remained inside its belly until the Day they are resurrected." (Referring to the Prophet Jonah)
    Surah Sad (38:24)
"[David] said, 'He has certainly wronged you in demanding your ewe [in addition] to his ewes. And indeed, many associates oppress one another, except for those who believe and do righteous deeds - and few are they.' And David became certain that We had tried him, and he asked forgiveness of his Lord and fell down bowing [in prostration] and turned in repentance [to Allah]."
These verses highlight the Quranic perspective on these topics.

Interesting podcast, really love her relationship with her family. But the Quran doesn't claim prophets and messengers to be sinless..on the contrary many verses contradict that claim. They were righteous and arguably one of the best among mankind but not infalliable. Also we do believe that Jesus (pbuh) is Messiah.

With all respect … I loved the interview- as I think out loud I think ALL should consider this is HER story and opinion of what SHE believes and how she interacts things. 🙏🏼 As always considering religious arguments and and basing your knowledge from someone NOT a scholar is most logical. SMU has a great school of theology that has inner faith religious EXPERTS share , respectfully battle and address those exact things she deemed did not make sense. Just food for thought to always gather your information from those who have studied and are experts and have engaged in religious, respectful discussions with OTHER faiths.
I am honored to hear her story and love how intelligent she is - it should remind of that we too should seek in our own way so we have OUR own testimony.
Thank you for sharing this with us 🙏🏼

This woman is missleading you regarding Quranic christology in 25:01 of the interview. Here is a summary of the Quranic Christology:
    1) Jesus is God’s Word to Mary fullfilled through the Virgin Birth (4:171)
    2) Jesus is given the title the Messiah Jesus son of Mary BEFORE the Virgin birth (3:45)
    3) Jesus is a Spirit from God which enables him to perform Miracles, revive the dead and speak to the people from the crib.(4:171,2:87 and 5:110)
    4) Jesus is one of those closest to God because Jesus is the exalted servant who was raised to God in the highest heaven (after being crucified and ressurected) to Lead creation in the worship of God as God’s heavenly High Priest (17:1, 3:45)
    5) Jesus has been given the authority to remove some of God’s previous prohibitions and restrictions to the Children of Israel while also being given the authority to forgive some of their sins. (3:50, 5:15)

    • @Dee00112
      @Dee00112 Місяць тому

Jesus was not ressurected because in Islam according to the Quran he was not killed nor was he crucified, but saved by God and ascended to the heavens until his 2nd coming. Stop lying just like this woman who said that Muslims dont believe that Jesus pbuh was the Messiah! We do and we also believe he is the word of God. Some Christians have a problem with LYING about Islam 🙄

    • @economician
      @economician Місяць тому +1

According to sunny/shiite doctrine Jesus was not crucified, was raised to heaven, Will come back before Judgement day, then die and then be raised again making him effectively the last human messenger prophet.
According to the Quran the Talmudic Jews ( who had falsely accused Mary of having had inter course With a roman soldair) claimed that they had killed Jesus. The Quran is stating that the Talmudic Jews did not kill Jesus nor did the Talmudic Jews crucify Jesus. 4:157 In fact the Talmudic Jews were only made to think that they caused Jesus death through crucifiction but in fact they only imagened this since God ressurected Jesus back to life and raised Jesus to the farthest place of worship in the Universe where Jesus is elevated to perform the duty of being God’s heavenly priest ( hence the questioning in 5:116).
Translating salabahu as crucified in 4:157 is problematic because that would mean that the Mosaic Pharoah in 20:71 and 26:49 is threatening Moses people with crucifiction. Crucifiction as a capital punishment did not exist during the time of the Mosaic Pharaoh.
In arabic salabuhu means crucifiction but in syrio-aramaic salaabuhu means both crucifiction and public hanging. The claim of the Talmudic jews in their sources is that they hanged and killed Jesus.

Her points of Islam are very weak or just dont make any sense at all. Where in Islam does it say that all prophets are perfect beings? Moses killed a man and ran? Jonah also ran? What we say is that prophets dont commit major sins, like Aaron building the calf or Davids sins. Also the point of the Bible being the most preserved text, while the Quran isnt? Seems like she either was biased or didnt do much research at all🤷‍♂️
