As interesting as that hypothesis was, I'm glad Torosaurus and Triceratops are their own separate genre, especially when we have official conformation of their respective growth stages.
@@MarkTheDilophosaurus281 Not necessarily. It’s only really the chasmosaurines with disproportionately large skulls, and even then, they would have been remarkably light thanks to the parietal fenestrae. Adult Triceratops prorsus would have needed an incredibly strong neck, as the frill was solid and could grow to be car-sized
@@Lamb23597 They're spamming that on all comments, just report them as spam. Also yeah, Torosaurus does look like a Roman scutum or a Medieval kite shield...
Love this ceratopsid too. Also I don’t know how the heck the theory of Torosaurus being an adult Triceratops started. It’s physically impossible for it to be so.
I always wondered about frills having eye-spots on them like butterfly wings. Could it actually be beneficial to make them look more intimidating to predators or smaller individuals? It was always a speculative design choice I thought was intriguing. It does look intimating staring at them, even on just CGI. Its cool. Especially for Torosaurus and Chasmosaurus with their elongated frills.
I remember going to “Walking with Dinosaurs: The Arena Spectacular/Live Experience” as a kid and seeing the Torosaurus mating fight between the two males recreated _live_ with those _amazing_ Creature Technology Company animatronics (👏)! *Good* times (😊)!
7:57 If I remember correctly, there are Triceratops skin impressions that showed something similar to the bumps seen on the JW Torosaurus. So there is a precedent for them.
What irritated me during the 'Toroceratops' debate was the general media sources making it out that Triceratops would no longer be valid. Anything for clickbait I guess
Hey there, I was just wondering, if given the chance, would you perhaps do at least the many interpretations of either Deinosuchus or Sarcosuchus? Also, don't forget to add Struthiomimus for the next pull. If you have any suggestions for the next video, please let me know and we'll keep in touch. Anyway, greetings from Phoenix, Arizona. 🇲🇽🤠🏜🦕🦖🦤🦣
Have you ever thought about doing a video of some kind where you look at fictional prehistoric animals? Like a creature that appears in a movie or show that they say is prehistoric but isn’t a real animal. Some examples are some of the dinosaurs in Terra Nova, the Pre-Cambrian worms and arboreal raptors from Primeval, the graboids from Tremors, and the hybrid animals from the Jurassic franchise.
Something I'd like to add regarding Toros from WWD and DK is that they both have short snouts/pre-orbital regions when MOR 1122 and AMNH 5116 show that Torosaurus had a more lengthy snouth like triceratops and Sinoceratops. The Speckles one is a bit in-between that For me it was one of the things I didn't like too much growing up about Torosaurus so I'm glad it turned out it wasn't that short cause it looked... Funky to me personally. Of course I'd like to say that yes I'm aware back then those short face toros were a product of the time. Also Jurassic Park Explorer is fun BUT it is chalkful of poor models xD For example, the Cerato, Carcharo, and acro in that game are all just the Dilophosaurus model but edited (same animations too, very low budget is part of why that is), same for the allosaurus, albertosaurus, and t rex, they are all just repaints of the rex model ☠️ 😅 😆
Hey I have an interpretation video idea because troodon is invalid so instead of making a many interpretations of troodon why don’t you make interpretations of North American troodontids that appear in older documentaries thanks
My favourite design of Torosaurus is actually not in the episode, it's from a UA-cam video called Dinosaurs Battle s2 GC2 aka Torosaurus vs Siamotyrannus. The Torosaurus there have honestly one of my favourite colouring I've seen in a dinosaur and the design does look accurate but the video itself is not accurate at all, Torosaurus and Siamotyrannus could do fucking backflips in the video and the fact Siamotyrannus won against Torosaurus ( doe to votes) makes it very inaccurate but the video belonged to a series name Dinosaur battle world championship, the fight belongs to s2 of the series, s1 of the series was very popalur with the full version of s1 having 27 million views on UA-cam and the most popular in the series (T rex vs Phuwiangosaurus) having 37 million views on UA-cam with some special fights like the most popular one, Spino vs T rex vs I rex having 34 million views
Felt sad that Torosaurus became invalid, still love it though. But yeah, I have come to accept it now EDIT: Oh wait really?!?!? Torosaurus is valid again!??!
Torosaurus is a criminally underrated Ceratopsid, often overshadowed by its contemporary Triceratops
Triceratops : who are you ?
Torosaurus : I'm you but with a rectangular head
I'm glad Torosaurus is not a fully-grown Triceratops. Both ceratopsians are awesome in their own right.
As interesting as that hypothesis was, I'm glad Torosaurus and Triceratops are their own separate genre, especially when we have official conformation of their respective growth stages.
Can we talk about how strong Torosaurus' neck must have been for it to support a car-sized head?
Yeah, and that’s the case with all ceratopsids, because their heads were so big

While Triceratops is my favorite ceratopsian, I still like Torosaurus and like how it was given some screen time in Walking With Dinosaurs.

Next to Triceratops & Pachyrhinosaurus, it's my 3rd favorite ceratopsian and one I would add to my Jurassic Park/World

Best 1 in my opinion is the Dinosaur king one, the frill on that 1 was just GORGEOUS
Torosaurus is one of my favorite ceratopsians, alongside Styracosaurus, Pachyrhinosaurus and, of course, Triceratops.
Same
Dino-Riders had a lovely Torosaurus that featured in several episodes.
I had voted for This dinosaur hoping you would mention the Dino-Riders show

So far, Dino Guy has sadly never talked about Dino Riders.

For large random scales. This seems to be emulating osteoderms. Which, again, there is no evidence for.

I just had some Doritos with some ranch, also loved the video.
My favorite Torosaurus design is probably the one Mario Lanzas made on his channel, go check it out
I did also like the two seen in the Walking with Dinosaurs Live show.
I like torosaurus.
I saw a funny meme and it went:
toro the carno: PASS
Torosaurus: YES!
One day there will be a velociraptor video probably the next milestone
