Painting the calipers with the brush is indeed easier than with spraycan when its mounted on the vehicle. I also painted the rusty brakedisc hub together with the calipers, looks even nicer!
The problem I have with my 2008 Solstice is that I don't have a jack that is low enough to go under the car. I have a floor jack about the size of the one you're using. I'm thinking to get ramps, but then I wouldn't be able to remove the wheels. I could use ramps and then use the jack and jack stands.
Congrats Malcolm. Even a ruff shape Sky is good looking :). I'm not sure where to find a repair manual. If you're not already a member, join the Facebook page. Lots of great and helpful members. facebook.com/groups/107999612683303/
My Sky has red calipers with the name SKY painted in yellow. inside the wheel is also painted red.. I have a 2008 redline Sky , chili pepper red and it is my fun car.
Very good result. Did you use any primer? I'm not quite sure if to use regular rust protective primer, or rust converter for my project. Probably rust converter would be more protective, but I removed already all the rust, so don't know. Thank you for the film.
Hi Bill. Sorry it's been so long since my reply and you may already have this resolved. However, if not, you can use ordinary hockey pucks for the lift pucks.
Where did u put the jack stands and did you need a low profile jack? thanks
I painted mine using primer and red enamel paint. Holding up great and yeah the bag was needless.

Mike, on the front-end, did you sit the car's control arm down on the jack stand when doing the front tires?
Hey just bought a Sky. It is in real ruff shape. Love all your vids. Hard to find a repair manual hard copy. Thanks.

That's awesome. I'm sure the red inside the rims looks great.
Can you paint the hubs with calipers on? Thanks

I painted mine also back in november 2016...great idea
Yeah. It definitely adds some style to the wheels. I'm hoping mine last quite a while because I don't want to do it again...lol.
Looks good. Can’t decide if I should paint or upgrade to some small Brembo’s on my Redline. Keep up the videos.
Thanks Jamie. Brembos would be great...but paint is much cheaper :) I'll keep doing videos as much as I can and as long as people like them.
How did the paint hold up over the years?
Change those rotors out to drilled slotted rotors Mike!
I actually did that after I painted my rotors. I have drilled slotted rotors and performance pads now.
@@MikesHouseOfMods Did you make a video Of the process yet?
paint the rust parts of disc black. small thing to do but makes a difference
Thanks for the tip. I actually changed the rotors a the next day.
Mike, would you please state the diameter, thickness and material of the lift pads. Thanks

@@MikesHouseOfMods Thanks Mike I did just that and put a flat on the two front pucks to clear the body
Looks good .Mr M&M
Did you grow up in Michigan?
No. Pittsburgh.
What did the paint kit cost?
I can't remember. I purchased it at a local Pep Boys, but probably any auto parts store may have them. It wasn't very expensive, though.
