Having just started playing disc golf, I am blown away by the diversity and technology behind the sport. So much to learn, and so many discs to try! I would love to give a harp a strum!
I witnessed my friends first ace. He threw a VIP harp and it faded hard into the basket. I remember being in awe as I looked at the chains settle. The harp seems awesome and I'd love to try one!
My VIP Harp is definitely one of the most used discs in my bag. Anytime there's even a hint of wind it comes out and fights right to the basket. Also like it for shorter right finishing shots off the tee where I can really power it up and not worry about it going long like my bard occasionally does.
Bagged one in Tournament plastic about a month ago and it has become my new favorite approach disc for forehand and back hand. It's also a fantastic putter in windy situations. 💪
I threw my first ace last month with a VIP Harp on the 6th hole of Westy Acres in Greenfield, MA. I've only being playing for 4 months now and can highly recommend it for beginners. It's IMHO, the first overstable disc you should throw as it's a reliable "get out of jail free" disc. It has never left my bag from the day I bought it and has saved my ass more times than I can count.
Love the harp! I have 3 of them. I have a TP which is a bit too slick for my liking. A BT hard which is great but my favorite and the only one I bag is the BT Soft Harp. I’ve had it in the bag for over 3 years and it’s still perfect. So trusty and I can rip it on any angle and know exactly how it will fly. The flight plate has these crazy thump grooves from being so beat up and they help it fly slower I feel which is awesome. No skip with the soft plastic. So many throw ins both FH and BH and an ace on it. I don’t know what I would do without it.
I’ve been curious about the Harp for a while now. Your comment about it forgiving the wobble of a forehand shot is intriguing - maybe this is the disc to teach me how to throw forehand approach shots correctly!
Super accurate review, sir. The disc does all those things for me too. Id add that softer plastics are also great for touch upshots... both forehand and backhand. My favorite is a touch anhyzer forehand.. mmmm so buttery
The Harp is fantastic. I bag a BT Medium and Tournament Burst Harp. They are money off the tee and basket hunters on approach shots. It’s one of the few discs that I feel confident throwing on forehand. This may be Westside’s best mold to date.
Love what you do Danny. The Harp sounds like exactly what I need in my bag. I've been playing for about a year and the biggest hole in my bag in an overstable approach disc. I've tried a few things in the Innova line-up, but nothing has quite fit the bill. I guess it's time to try out some Trilogy plastic.
I love my BT Hard Harp for approach shots around 200. That reliable fade at the end makes it great at just sitting, instead of skipping past the basket
I just picked up my first Harp about two months or so ago, and I love it. It fits a spot in my bag that I didn't know I was lacking (short approach, hard fade), and I already have a good feel for what it's going to do in the air for me. I throw Tournament plastic, but will look to pick up a VIP next to see the differences. Time to work on my forehand as it seems like this is the disc to learn some stuff from. Danny: you're doing an awesome job! I vote for a Stag review next!
I looove my harp. Easily one of the best overstable approach discs on the market. I like them in the BT hard and medium plastics so they stick to greens a little bit easier. I use it almost exclusively for forehand approaches but every once in a while i need a putter to finish left so ill grab my harp to garuntee that fadeout. Incredible disc for all experience levels
I try to bag only one company. The harp is the exception in my bag. In fact it's the most thrown mold of them all if you omit putting. I can rip it and trust there will be no turn over, and that it will slow down just in time, every time. Perfect for approaches, and if you really get in sync with it, the anhyzer lines can be a thing of beauty weaving trees in the woods. VIP/Tournament plastic for your meatiest of hooks, BT hard for the perfect feel, and super soft if you want your approaches to throw on the the brakes instantly.
I use it forehand and backhand. I usually use it for forehands in the woods and throw it backhand out in the open. I have 2 in BT harp and they feel amazing. I have a VIP and a TP Harp as well and these are a bit more over stable than the BT ones so I will throw these on windier days.
Been wanting to add a harp to my arsenal, but have so many go to disks with close flight ratings that it seemed redundant to me at first, but now watching you throw it it just may have a slot in my bag, thanks Danny L.
Oh liked the poem. I'm more of a shield putter VIP BABY ...to knock down branches and stuff and a warden for plan putting. But like you said if your behind a tree and need a forehand to get around this is perfect.
Have a BT and a tournament plastic harp and you definitely nailed it will the description of the BT landing nicely. Love this disc for parking approaches. Great review Danny. I always like your analysis of discs and disc golf in general

I have a beat-up BT Medium Harp and it is a really great disc. At this point, I throw it on my straight shots, but in comparison to other discs, I have a secure feeling that is won't turn. Doesn't fly far but flies where I want!!
I’ve been wanting to try this disc out my first west side disc was the vip warship misprint and omg I love it, I have 4 of them in my bag and just ordered the vip chameleon. I really wanna try the harp out
Another great review, thanks Danny. Good to see how these discs fly at a pro level. I'm reaching for my Moonshine Harp if the shot is around 200' or less and I need that guarantee of a shot to fade and sit, especially in a headwind. As for what else to review, how about the Sampo? I find it's a pretty reliable stable distance driver.
This is my favorite disc! I use it to shape lines in the Minnesota woods. I like the origeo ones because they don't skip very much, and beaten in they are even better.
I bag 3 harps. A bt medium, tournament and moonshine. I have 3 aces in total with my harps. Use my bt medium for shots that need to stick when they land or my headwind putter. My tournament for hyzers and my moonshine I can also get some flex shots with my backhand and sidearm. By far my favourite disc I have ever thrown. Feels great in the hand and love the predictable flight.
I love my BT Hard Harp especially for forehand. The stiffness of the disc is great and wish I could find a putter and super gummy like it(but obviously not as overstable). My main concern is if I get in the more durable VIP or Tournament it’ll be much to soft to my liking. My 2 BT Harps right now are pretty worn around the edges.
I suck at throwing midranges, don't know why since I can throw fairways and throwing putters. Anyway, this fixes that. No need to take off any power for a midrange to not gp long, just grab a harp and slam it straight to the line and it always goes where I want it to go. An absolute must in the bag.
BT Hard is the best Harp plastic, especially when it gets all beat up and warped. I've had the same one in my bag for 3 years. It will never leave. The only other Westside disc I bag is a Swan, and it deserves almost as much praise as the Harp.
Found a vip harp buried in mud next to a river. Cleaned it off and gave it a try... I was impressed, then I tried forehand approach and fell in love. Been in my bag for about a year now and won't be coming out until the disc golf gods take her away.
I'm hoping to get a harp and try it sometime! I can see myself throwing it for approach shots fore hand and back hand for the most part. I have researched this and I wonder if it is similar to a discraft zone. All the reviews about this disc say that everyone should have a disc like this in their bag. I dont currently but maybe someday! Great review Danny!
The last thing you said about the harp being primarily a forehand disc makes me really want to try one out. Right now, I'm using a lucid eMac that's beat in a little, and sometimes I tend to turn it over for those shots. Would love to bag that beaut and give it the flight it deserves.
I haven't had too much luck with my BT Hard Harp and I throw forehand predominantly. Hoping to try a different plastic and regain some confidence with those pesky putter upshots!
I have one swirly pink Harp in soft BT. Love if for backhand approach shots and often putting also cause it really has almost zero ground play and it really sticks. 😎
The VIP plastic is the most durable of the plastics I have tried so I like that. I use the harp for short hizor shots that I don't want to much distance on.
I had two harps in my bag, vip and mega soft but i lost my vip... I used them for almost anything. They are great for bh, fh and so accurate! I literally ran a 100 foot upshot and smashed chains for a birdie. Every player needs one
I have a bt hard harp that is well beat in. I throw it off the tee for shorter shots and for 90% of my approaches. It is beat to the point that if i put it on the smallest bit of hyzer it will pop to flat and have a very chill fade. It is bar none my favorite disc i have ever owned and it might be time for a new one
Also, the Ringer/Breaker came out 4 years prior to this disc, soooo...you could check out one of those if you're trying to support local manufacturing.
I got a Origio Burst Harp in a DD mystery box a couple of weeks ago. All that disc wants to do is get down and get left on a RHBH throw. 100% prime beef!
I love Harps! Medium/Blend plastics are my jam. The Harp in my main bag is a Suspect, however. I found it first, and the low profile has always fit my Kung Fu grip. Once I tried the Harp, though. I had to give it its due respect. I had several discs stolen from me recently. Among them were an Origio and Medium Harp. I would love to try that VIP.
I absolutely love it for upshots my favorite plastic is the tournament like you said Danny if not thrown quite hard enough it can end a little short but I found that the tournament plastic a really nice skip at the end of it's flight honestly an amazing disc!
I played a tournament this summer where I putted exclusively with a mega soft harp. The thing is FLOPPY. Thanks to the amount of give and grip it has, I landed a circle two birdie putt that tried to spit out but ended up balanced on the rim of the cage. A harder putter definitely would have slipped off.
Great ending, I haven't had the chance to use the Harp yet, but one of my friends loves it so ill have to give it a chance . Keep up the Great Work bro

I throw it forehand. every forehand. it happens to let out the sound of a smooth harpy melody every time i throw it.
There’s no better plastic for the Harp than Origio. Great feel in the hand and behavior on the ground when it lands, perfect for long approaches.
