Great job, Justin. Thanks for putting my 1991 Litespeed Ultimate in the spotlight on your show. What an honor. For the uninformed, that's MY bike, a 54cm gem, with 24-year-old DuraAce brakes and shifters, 9-year-old Shimano Ultegra compact crank, 12-25 rear cassette, Cobb Cycling saddle, Profile Design carbon fork, new 9-speed chain, Keo pedals, Easton rims, Continental tires (25mm), carbon fiber handlebar, and new Bontrager grip tape. I purchased the bike in NYC from Big Apple Bicycles (put $500 down on the $2,000 frame and UPS apologized for leaving the bike on my brother's front porch in Shreveport, LA, where I was training and never collected the remaining $1,500), got hit by a truck from behind in 1993 and sustained a severe TBI (4-day coma, Glasgow Coma Scale of 5, 30 days of posttraumatic amnesia, ), got an insurance check in the amount of $4,500, sold the bike to a friend in 1998 for $1,200, and my then-fiancé (now wife) bought it back for $800 and gave it to me for a wedding present! A story that only God could script. What a ride my life has been! Thanks, Justin!

So Scott, was the Bontrager grip tape on the old handlebars? Not sure I see anything on the new ones or am I missing something?

@@peterweatherby8816 I’m wrapping the bars after I fit him tomorrow. There is new Bontrager tap going to be installed.

Forgot to mention: After my 1993 cycling accident my frame was bent, as it bounced off the windshield of an enormous delivery truck (think UPS, only BIGGER!) and traveled 72 feet before landing on an old abandoned highway. Thankfully, five years later, after a legal battle, I got the frame back, sent it Litespeed and had it repaired for $150, polished and all. Still looks brand new!

I am the original owner of a late 1994 61cm Litespeed Classic. I rode about 20 miles on it just this morning. Still my go to bike although I have a very nice 2013 Felt Z4 carbon bike and a really nice All City Mr. Pink steel bike. My Litespeed has a polished frame and upgraded fork (the original was damaged when the bike was damaged by a car that rear ended me around 2002. Such is life). I will always have my Litespeed!

I have a 1999 Litespeed Natchez. It has a quill stem. It doesn't have the curved seat tube for acceleration, but it has curved seat stays supposedly for a little added spring for comfort. Definitely a great bike. The Litespeed decal is still in decent shape, but I'm contemplating on removing them anyway. No decals needed on a brushed titanium in my opinion.

Building a sub-15 pound Litespeed Ghisallo is on my bicycle bucket list.
