    @GardeningUpbeat, Hi, I lovwd your video on Bleeding heart plant. They are quite informative. After seeing your vidoe, I bought a bleeding heart plant for myself. Plant came with 6-7 leaves. At the time of delivery it was looking okay but no new shoots were there. I did the steps as you suggested in the video. How ever, I am noticing that my plant is loosing leaves. Leaves are turning brown on the edges and then falling. The leaf the not turning completely brown also. It's been a month since i planted bleeding heart plant. Plz suggest what should i do to save my plant. I have a south facing balcony in Delhi ncr. So i get full sunlight throughout the day. The olant is kept at a place where it receives second half day of sunlight. Plz plz help me save my plant.

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  2 місяці тому

      Thank you for your feedback and sorry to hear about your plant. But, there is nothing to worry about. It's not the perfect time and it would take around 15-20 days more for for Bleeding Hearts to start growing. At this time, if possible please avoid providing full sun (even shade but bright light would be enough) and water only when top 1 inch soil is dry. This usually happens when we buy plants online. They usually go through a transplanting shock after repotting. Like I said, time is bit early and many of my plants are in same stage (new plants which I propagated last year). I would do a video very soon about getting more flowers on older plants. Plus, I would also provide info about what to do with such plants. They are hardy plant..only thing is roots shouldn't rot. New shoots would come from the roots. Hope that helps, thank you!

      @@GardeningUpbeat thank you so much for your guidance. Your words gave me a bit of relief. Yes, I bought the plant online. As per your suggestion I have placed the plant in a shaded area, where it will have good air and bright cool indirect sunlight, in my North facing balcony. Today 3 more leaves fall. Now only 1 leaf is there on the plant. But I am still hopeful. Let's hope for the best.

    Net cup removal is required as it will not allow roots to develop. Many plants die due to plastic cup.

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  2 місяці тому

      I am finding opposite result and many of my plants are doing well even after doing the same thing. Before removing the net cup completely, we would need to damage almost 80-90% of the root ball. Won't be a good idea.
      However, if we can remove the cup without hurting the root ball badly, then it's better to remove.

    I am watching your vdo from west bengal, My question is without using the bottom tob ,can we use the same process by avoiding top one?I want to mean just filling half portion by dry leaves and kitchen weast and then rest portion by soil mix as you told, Awating for your valuable reply,

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  2 місяці тому

      Thank you very much! I have explained why using a pot on top would be helpful. This happens if we don't - 1. The materials would take sometime to decomposed. So, in that time if there is lack of nitrogen happens, it would take extra nitrogen from the soil. The plant would suffer.
      2. Level of soil would go down and we may end up with overwatering our plant.
      By keeping the pot on top (plastic one), we can always add more soil (from the sides) in case soil level go down way too much. Hope I have answered your question!

    Hello, I am from kolkata. I have a query my peace lily is not growing properly. I watched your video about peace lily. Your plants were so beautiful. Please I need some tips for my peace lily plants. Today I noticed your daughter was not present in the video. Your lovely dog was there. Thanks.

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  2 місяці тому

      Thank you for watching my videos and for your words about my daughter and Egon :-) My Peace lily is tissue cultured..so, it's bushy. If possible, you can get one. They are bit costly but worth. As they are not growing, you can try applying growth promoter like Super Sonata once in 25-30 days. Also, fertilize it well as flowering time is about to start. If you like, you can try applying Basacote once, it works well.
      Peace lily needs bright light and it doesn't do well in low light even though many others say so. In low light, it would be staying okay but growth and flowers would be less. Also, it needs rich soil and soil should be moist all the time. I hope that helps!

    • @sumitabiswas6434
      @sumitabiswas6434 2 місяці тому

      Hi, thank you so much for your reply. I have used Basacote to my peace lily( after follow ing you), I must apply super sonata to them. I have placed them to my balcony where they can receive indirect sunlight. My plants are deshi variety. May be that is the cause they are not growing well. Thank you again.

    I have four sunflower dwarf in 8ich pot .. they all are about 1+feet tall and greeny ... I water them twice , at morning and evening but during afternoon all of them bend at the top and when I water them in evening all stands up again . Is the wilting of the plant good ?

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  2 місяці тому +1

      Wilting is not good..the plant would suffer at the time of producing buds. Look like, your soil is not absorbing enough water and that is why they are wilting even after watering twice. Please check if your soil is becoming hydrophobic. Means, as soon as you water, the water drains out fast through the sides. If it's happening, you would need to till the soil a bit and add any organic materials like Vermicompost. 8 inch pot is enough for dwarf Sunflower. Hope it helps, thank you!

      Look like you would need to decrease the dose. For example, if you were using 20 grams before, make it 1/2 like 10 grams. And, always apply on surrounding soil, not near to the base of the plant. In case you are using in liquid form, dilute it even more. All the best!
