She has no place on that stage. She's good. Yes but she is Loretta Lynn's grandaughter so any and all labels in Nashville would open their doors for her, she could easily get a deal. Idol is for people like Kelly Clarkson...not wealthy, waiting tables, etc. People who don't have an in with record labels.
As someone who struggled with these same feelings and an eating disorder, I was brought to tears. This young lady is a pure talent and a joy to watch. Congrats, Emmy!

Pure. Honest. Her outfit was perfect. She is who she is. Dressing up for this performance would have been counter-intuitive.
Not sure why some think she doesn't deserve to be in the Top 14. Goodness. She sings beautifully, plays a few instruments very well, and writes stunning lyrics. Deserved. 100%. Listen to those lines: "So I took a trip around the world. To hold the hands with orphan girls. Saw the war. Felt the pain. In miracles. In his name. But I just want to be. I just want to be skinny." Damn. All of those amazing things, and yet being skinny took precedence in her life. This is an important song. She is an important artist.
❤Emmy in MY opinion should win American Idol 2024! . SHE HAS ALL THE GOODS, it is NOT always about who is THE BEST vocalist, its about the WHOLE package!! Emmy regardless will go far in her career, and Goodness she is one of COUNTRY MUSIC QUEEN'S GRANDDAUGHTERS LORETTA LYNN!
Emmy is better than some of the other contestants, vocally bit dry, she is an okay song writer, Emmy is a gorgeous, attractive young woman, she has a boyfriend, raised in a wealthy family, a legendary grandmother (Loretta Lynn), a famous great aunt (Crystal Gale), she has performed on the big stage, I think being a contestant on American Idol was a big mistake. She has a different path in the music business and sorry, singing is not it. McKenna Breinholt is also vocally dry, a shame what happened to her biological parents, adopted as an infant, has a good life, another just okay song writer like Emmy. American Idol is about sob stories," sniff sniff a teardrop falls" not who has the best vocals and talent to become a successful artist. AI has gone downhill since Simon Cowell left the show.
I think she could win. I love her soft voice. She’s consistent to who she is. And AI is also about America falling in love with them. An artist makes it based off of their following, not just who some people think has the best voice. She seems like she’s such a genuine loving person. And, I hate that she has the nerves cause I know that feeling. I get like that too. But I loved that it shows how Real she is❤️. I think she’s a doll and would be a good role model and she’s different from most of the people out now. And that’s not a diss, cause I Iike pretty much everyone. But, she is like the girl next door and that’s endearing. I believe she could have lots of girls and their moms supporting her, like a Taylor swift. And, before anyone gets dramatic, I Know she’s not Taylor at this point. But I think her following could be Huge! Also, If anyone doesn’t know, her and Kayko are both on SongHouse.

That's what I thought also. Those jeans look raggy. Her grandmother always looked beautiful when she performed. Back in my day in the 60s singers dressed when they performed. Sometimes they wore suits. You have to look classy when you're working, and performing in front of people is work. Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Bobby Darin always looked sharp. Judy Garland, Doris Day, Dinah Shore always wore beautiful ball gowns so did Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton and Reba. I guess style is lost in this generation.
@@joycepino9749Given that her song was about her overcoming an eating disorder, choosing to come out wearing something she was just comfortable in was a bold statement that probably gave her real courage in sharing that part of her story with the world. She dressed up for all of the other performances, so I think this one was making a powerful statement that her worth is not tied to her body, but to her beautiful soul.

To get hung up on her looks, her appearance, and her choice to not dress up shows how much people focus on appearance and solidifies the song's message.
