Sadly, the state I live in has ridiculous “laws” and is extremely hard to get a handgun “permit.” I’ve had my record expunged, and have had no police contact since 2015. The state said I need 10 years before I can apply for a gun, but had no problem awarding me sole custody of my twins 3 years ago. Amazing that Im a responsible enough citizen to RAISE TWO LIVES, but not responsible enough to own an inanimate object.
The best part of the "cop shoots himself" video is when (after he had the negligent discharge ) asks his assiatant for ANOTHER gun and all the kids start screaming "NO"
The full video is actually very funny aside from the guy shooting him self, but that that happens and he tries to continue teaching after he shot himself in the leg.

The State of California has 30 days to appeal this. The appeal will send the bill to the 9th Circuit Court, where it will likely pass to an even higher court; that being the Supreme Court. If passed on, it will be subject to the most Liberal and corrupt court on Earth, and will only then have a chance of passing. This is all assuming that the court actually agrees to listen.. As a resident of California, I can confirm that people here will protest this. And that the chances of anything actually happening is unlikely.. we do have something to look forward to though, as this case was designed from the ground up to go to the Supreme Court.

Requiring permission (anything you have to ask permission from the government for is no longer a right) 3. Taxation at a rate much higher than standard goods. (there would be no ATF if this were not true) 4. Requiring an obtrusive violation of your other rights (background checks) 5. Registration (and yes, a Form 4473 IS a form of registration) 6. ALL legal loopholes (you must have it disassembled, locked up, ammunition separate from gun while traveling) 7. That any state or local municipality can infringe these rights at will (There is such a thing as Article 6 Section 2 of the US Constitution, the supremacy clause; and the fact that it IS covered in the US Constitution makes a 10th Amendment/14th Amendment argument fall flat) 8. Any part of the free exercise of the right in question being punished in any way is a gross infringement. 9. Laws meant to target a specific demographic, like poor people, blacks, Italians, Japanese (examples that HAVE happened in US history) 10. Forbidding the sales of the parts and ammunition as a way to undercut the ability of. 11. Classifications based on barrel lengths, ammunition feeding device limits, Overall length provisions, ability to fire more than just 1 round at a trigger pull, ability to accept a muzzle device like a suppressor, overall weight, any points system for importing, the disallowing of features meant to ergonomically enhance the operation of the firearm, or safety devices like barrel shrouds, tritium night sights, flash suppressors, specialized stocks and optics.... the list goes on and on. "So Mr. E, are you saying that ALL gun laws are unconstitutional?" Yes I am. There is no such thing as common sense gun control. There is no such thing as an enhanced background check. Simply stated, if you are a felon, one thing you should be able to do once you have served your time is buy a gun. "Holy shit, Mr. E, you think that's a good idea??" No, not really. I guess my point here is, if it can be proved the person in question has not turned from the path of evil, he should not be released from prison, even if his sentence is up. What I will never understand is, why are there gun laws in the first place? When I read a statement that says "shall not be infringed", it doesn't mean "shall not be unreasonably infringed". There is no discretionary language. Here are some examples of infringement:
1. Outright ban (obviously a gross infringement)
2. Requiring permission (anything you have to ask permission from the government for is no longer a right)
3. Taxation at a rate much higher than standard goods. (there would be no ATF if this were not true)
4. Requiring an obtrusive violation of your other rights (background checks)
5. Registration (and yes, a Form 4473 IS a form of registration)
6. ALL legal loopholes (you must have it disassembled, locked up, ammunition separate from gun while traveling)
7. That any state or local municipality can infringe these rights at will (There is such a thing as Article 6 Section 2 of the US Constitution, the supremacy clause; and the fact that it IS covered in the US Constitution makes a 10th Amendment/14th Amendment argument fall flat)
8. Any part of the free exercise of the right in question being punished in any way is a gross infringement.
9. Laws meant to target a specific demographic, like poor people, blacks, Italians, Japanese (examples that HAVE happened in US history)
10. Forbidding the sales of the parts and ammunition as a way to undercut the ability of.
11. Classifications based on barrel lengths, ammunition feeding device limits, Overall length provisions, ability to fire more than just 1 round at a trigger pull, ability to accept a muzzle device like a suppressor, overall weight, any points system for importing, the disallowing of features meant to ergonomically enhance the operation of the firearm, or safety devices like barrel shrouds, tritium night sights, flash suppressors, specialized stocks and optics.... the list goes on and on.

Simply stated, if you are a felon, one thing you should be able to do once you have served your time is buy a gun. "Holy shit, Mr. E, you think that's a good idea??" No, not really. I guess my point here is, if it can be proved the person in question has not turned from the path of evil, he should not be released from prison, even if his sentence is up. I think I would also suggest reclassification of what are felonies is long overdue, though. That is a whole other subject, too.

Yup. Had an interaction with LAPD recently. An argument with the ex went downhill more than usual... Anyway, they were wearing these chest-mounted cameras (totally uncool) and were talking about how they have "no discretion" and this is a "shall arrest" situation. When I tried to tell them that there's no need to arrest either of us - they asked me what I do for a living. I said I'm an engineer. And the cop says "I'm sure you wouldn't like it if I tried to tell you how to do your job while you were trying to do it".
I almost told him "Well looking at what the city's crime situation has turned into - you guys could in fact take some advice from citizens on how to do your job better!"

I was offended by the use of "Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah" due to the origin of the movie it came from.
