Very good to see it working properly, that short time hooked up incorrectly should not have done any damage. That is one thing I remember from working with a few DA-38/88 setups, don't muck about with the cables and just get the proper Sony/Tascam cables.

Sorry about that blip from the editing software. It repeated two clips. I'll be careful to make sure it doesn't happen again! Anyway, I've done three videos in three days, which is a record even for me. Hopefully I can make a start on another one this week too. I have so many machines to work on. I think the weird Stenocassette might be up soon.

@@zx8401ztv Comments are always welcome of course. We have visitors over the next few days so it's going to be hard finding time for more YouTubing, but I hope to do so.

I've been doing UA-cam for a bit over a year now. I only wish I had started a couple of years earlier, it's hard to get traction in such a busy space. I have another video almost done, hope to complete it around tomorrow.

How can I import a recording made with the Alesis HD24 into Audacity or Ableton in order to edit the tracks afterwards (15:12)

You can get the WAV files off the HD24 through the rather slow network connection using FTP, or by using some readily available software you can connect the HD24 hard disks to a PC. Then the files will simply import into Audacity. Lots of people use Pro Tools audio editing software with these files, but that's not one I've played with yet.

Thanks, one more question, the "readily available software", I did some searching on the internet and couldn't find anything, as you may have noticed, all this is new to me and trying to find my way in, I'm more a musician then a sound engineer and am exploring the possibilities. As can be seen in your broadcast I saw the files in Audacity and wondered if the file loaded in Audacity works the same as on the Alesis HD24 do, do all tracks start synchronously? .Thanks again
