Fortunately, I have not had this problem on my Lightning. I started using the 120Volt trickle charger. It worked fine, BUT it takes FOREVER to charge it up. Then I got the 240 Volt charger installed. Big improvement and charger continued to work fine. I ALWAYS charge the vehicle in my garage. I know that you can change this outdoors, but I don't like to mix electrical plugs and the weather. And you are right, I love how this vehicle drives. It is so smooth, so quick and it handles so beautifully. Your analogy to a Rolls and a Porche are so good.
Until the batteries from solar or the 35k car battery fails and degrades enough to not make it over 35mph. I wish you luck my friend, some beed to learn for themselves. Ever see an old prius on the road?
@@jimjab3631 You are so right. The degradation of the truck batteries when used for solar or grid storage is a significant concern But Ford is encouraging the use of the truck batteries for solar storage or utility load leveling. Ford also offers an 8 year warranty on the batteries. Finally, solar storage batteries are about $1,000 per kwh (on a good day - the Tesla power wall is closer to $2000/kwh) But with the Lightning you get a 130 kwh battery (extended range) with the truck. Even if replacement batteries did cost $35,000 that would be around $300/kwh, one third the price of regular storage and you get to use it for the truck as well. So I am going to take my chances and see how it rolls.
Incidentally, I didn't have to turn on the technology as you put it to get Blue cruise to work. I just turned on Lane centering and it went right into Blue Cruise.
I have the opposite problem with my Lightning. When it sees a 65mph speed sign it tries to speed up to 75mph. This will happen 3 or 4 times in a 10 mile trip. I probably have it setup to go 10 over but I cannot find that setting. I don't want to go 10 over in this truck because I am trying to be conservative with the energy and drive like a bish.
Tip of the screen press the truck image. Then top of screen settings. Then find the speed sign recognition amd either turn it off or just below you cans et the over or under speed. I hope this info finds you well. Good evening and take care
Based on your comment it would appear you did not watch the video. I plugged in during a snow storm and there was snow in and around the plug. If you did watch and your pleased your Tesla would allow a charge from a wet plug then I'm not sure you are desiring the safest parameters.
The good thing is that only 700 views which means not many got played buying an EV, the 700 that took the bait... lol, back to camp... got nothing for ya
Overall I'm still happy and I'm impressed the vehicle recognized their was water on the plug and port and didn't allow a charge in a dangerous situation.
For the life of me I'll never understand why when it comes to spending tens of thousands of dollars on a vehicle why would someone do their homework on choosing their electric vehicle purchase, choose to buy an EV from a gas car company, instead of course buying an EV from a EV company with leaps and bounds more experience in the field. I suppose when we want what we want we just convince ourselves it's the right choice. 🤷

Thank you Jim Durand for all the fine points and intel. Also your support and encouragement is appreciated
Good Lightning real world knowledge on your usage of that vehicle and thank you for sharing your problems and solutions.
Thank you TNBUBBA for your support. Have a great week
Also, if you have solar panels (as we do) you can be driving on the sun, a truly sustainable way to do transportation

Way to give us a heads up J

Ford or the dealer must have put the correct options to on.
See you Monday!
You are a brave man.

As always love the support and encouragement. Big thank you to you friend

You take way too long to explain things. Hey to the point faster
Thank you for the advice and you are indeed correct. I'll keep trying to get better

Thank you Larry for taking the time to watch and drop a comment as it is really appreciated and does help our community grow
Electrification Disfunction! lol
No issues with mine
Never had this issue with a Tesla🙄

Possibly, but I'm also not as impressed by Tesla as you are. I like trucks and I am disgusted by the look of the cyber truck
Electric vehicles 🤣
I'm going to assume you didnt watch the video. It was actually a positive experience.
@Johnny's car care & reviews I've seen enough about them.
