I have been eyeing the HP docks when I had a spectre. I have a MacBook Pro now, I’m assuming it should work just as well with my MacBook right? I love the look of that thing compared to every other dock I’ve seen
In my mind, there are two different types of customer for thunderbolt 3 hubs. 1) The type that requires a general hub with various ports as the product introduced in this video. 2) The type that wants to simply increase the number of thunderbolt 3 ports or even add the number of USB C ports. I am type 2 above and countless searches on Amazon (Japan) only offer type 1 hubs above. I would also like to see an alternative to the daft Apple thunderbolt 3 to thunderbolt 2 adapter. Possibly that port included in the type 2 hub above. I have thunderbolt 2 external HDDs as well as a ZOOM TAC-2R audio interface. If anyone knows of a product that may suit my needs, please be so kind as to put the link below.
I can’t wait till there is a thunderbolt 3 dock with at least one m.2 connection for a nvme drive. It should also have tool-less access to swap the drive. This would be perfect for content creators.
It's a nice dock. I still use it despite upgrading to a monitor with direct USB-C connection (which I just plug into this dock 's TB port to get 4K@60, the other 2 USB-C ports only get me 4k@30 for some reason). I have the audio version and it has actual mics and B&O speaker (mono?) and not Bluetooth like mentioned in the video. BTW the audio module can be purchased separately and it just replaces the top panel on the reviewed unit. HP part number is 3AQ21UT.
I just purchased a 27 inch 4k HP monitor which only has HDMI and display port. I notice this dock doesn’t have an HMDI connect. Does it mean the display port is better for in quality instead of HDMI?
Display Port is more used because of licensing costs for HDMI and newer DP 1.4 can daisy chain a couple of monitors so PC only needs one cable etc. They should work fine and you can get cables with DP to HDMI for not much cost.
Why nobody is talking about that, the dock has a blower type cooler fan which is so noisy and it's active while the laptop is shutdown. Really really annoying.
What if I want to remove the charger when the battery gets charged till 100% ? Does the accessories and the network gets disconnected? (Since I’m using a LAN cable, a mouse and phone charger attached to the USB docking station)
I'm not in need for charging my omen 2019, with this workstation work with my laptop. I'm confusing between powered dock station and non powered. cause i have a small non powered USB hub to expand USB ports. but mouse is stuttering when connection Bluetooth receiver to this hub.
I purchased one for myself. I've been waiting for the longest to get the model with the speaker but they've been sold out for quite some time. It does everything but charge my HP gaming laptop. Is there something in the settings I need to change?
No I think you have one with a dedicaded GPU they use normaly more then 100Watts from the outlet as Usb-C /Thunderbolt just can max give via the port 100watts. This means for most gaming laptops running with a dedicaded GPU you need to plugin your normal powerrbrick plus the thunderbolt 3 dock for your ports. Had the same Issue with a Legion Y740-15IRHg laptop which need 230watts of power. I'm just using the Dock as my main dockingstation but had several issues with the HP dock and switched to the Anker thunderbolt 3 dock.
Does someone know, how to get rid of the fan noise this thing puts out? My MacBook is in standby mode, connected to this thing, everything works great but it is kinda noisy. The fans are constantly spinning, it’s like white noise. I read that this issue occurs on both Mac and PC. Does anyone have a solution for this?
the dreamcolor is fantastic but a bit dated and expensive. My asus PG27UQ is a better balance of overall performance even if it's been on the market just as long and isn't as color accurate.
I am using this dock on my macbook air but it doesnt detect the other monitor. I have two monitors and the Monitor B one is only mirroring the Monitor A. How I can have individual display for both monitors?

HP TB Dock 120W G2 w/audio & two HP V28 4k Monitors can't dispay 4K on both monitors connected to HP Spectre x360 15-df1033dx.
It's 400 dollars now. Slightly less than half of what I paid for my hp spectre.

There is no real reason for that. Modern laptops do have smart power supply controllers. You can't overcharge laptop even if you want to.

I assume so. As far as electronics go, only the battery size is restricted. Since this doesn't have a battery, it should be no problem.

That doc is a piece of junk. Do not get it. It takes 10 minutes to get your computer started. It can not even handle one extra monitor.
