    HP G5 USB-C Dock Setup and Usage...How do I setup and use the HP G5 USB-C Dock?
    Hello UA-camr's,
    My name is Harold, This is TechonTech, and today we are taking a look at ESD Bracelets...but more specifically, the one I built. The one that I bought that was a scam, and the one that I wish I owned the patent to. Guys take a short ride with me as we look at wireless electro static bracelets.

      Does this power button turns on Laptop without needing to open the laptop lid/screen?

    • @techontechofficial
      @techontechofficial  Рік тому

      @@zeshanahmed2113 You know, I did not get a chance to test that, but based on how it worked and based on the fact that it needed a power button at all. I would say that it probably is part of its function. But make sure you buy it from a place you can return it to irregardless.

    Thanks for the thorough review! The HP USB-C Dock G5 with its 8-in-1 functionality seems like a versatile and powerful docking solution for laptops and PCs. Your detailed explanation of its features and demonstration of its performance are much appreciated. This dock has now caught my attention for my connectivity needs, and your review helped me understand its benefits better. Thanks for sharing this gem!

    Great video! I was actually having an issue where my dock wasn't receiving power. Completely confused until I saw in this video that the dock needs the 120W power cable. The 45W stock power cable my hp laptop came with was not enough.

    Hey, cool video.
    Question, before i invest in one of these, given it has 2 display ports (are they obsolete) and is this device relevant? - i.e. future proofed.

    It has a USB-C cable that plugs into the computer, and it also has another USB-C port. My older version had a double cable with power and USB-C. I was wondering if I needed to use two USB-C cables (my laptop has two side by side). What is the second USB-C port for?

    • @techontechofficial
      @techontechofficial  3 місяці тому +1

      Been a little while since I did this video, but in answer to your question, the one USB-C is a connection to the computer. The other USB-C plug is for USB-C inbound from some device or to power a USB-C device.

    Theis are not heavily using power. It is made to power and charge the laptop, that is the point of the high power adapter., 2 choices 120 watt or 230 watt for the type of laptop you are using. It has nothing to do with it use as a hub Except it will also power and change things plugged into its ports like phones

      I re-checked the specs and I couldn't find the answer to this...but...being as the Thunderbolt it does have just may be from the crossover of also technically being USB-C. I doubt it.

      Good point. On certain laptops, This hub would also do double duty as the power source for the laptop... Meaning it would be the only device you would have to have plugged into the laptop for power and everything.

  • @bingetv7899
    @bingetv7899 5 місяців тому

    This hub was a disappointment. My external monitors go on and on. This has been reported on the HP Community Forum by multiple users. It also happens with the HP Thunderbolt Dock as well. It's great to plug all the accessories in, but it doesn't perform, and HP Support doesn't answer. Is this happening to anyone else?

  • @pjmorgan

    - It's not a computer
    - It's not a video card
    - And it's not Thunderbolt, it's USB-C. The clue was in the name.

    • @techontechofficial
      @techontechofficial  Рік тому +1

      Your not wrong but your not quite right either...but for that explanation you will have to follow the spec and the relationship between USB and Thunderbolt.
