I've been looking for dock recommendations and end up just skimming a lot of videos. But god damn it if a Coheed shirt doesn't get me to stay for the whole thing. Enjoy the sub.
lol thanks so much for the sub! If you haven’t had a chance to see Coheed live, I highly recommend it. I’ve seen them a bunch of times and they never disappoint.
@@TheSpareTechRoom It's been a long time but there was a five or so year streak where I saw them every single time they came to town. I think the last time I saw them was with BTBAM on one of their Neverender tours. They absolutely never disappoint.
I have two LG WP65C Ultrawide's, both have a display port and two HDMI ports. Can you input into the monitors HDMI and then output from the same monitor second HDMI, so I can run that HDMI to my second monitor? Thanks for the review!
Can you connect two displays with Thunderbolt 4 ports from MacBook when connecting two displays through thunderbolt ports on Kensington SD5700T? Also, if you don't have HDMI, can you not just use Thunderbolt to HDMI cable for monitor?
This is also sold by Amazon under their Basics range, but the price is up and down like a yo-yo in the UK. It was £107 Sunday morning, then £228 by the evening! They put an HDMI port on the back and lose one of the Thunderbolt ports. They're generic products, but you can't seem to buy the original part from the manufacturer direct, even via AliExpress.
Thanks for the tip, ordered one off ebay for £90, like the extra ports, and maybe it will have enough bandwidth to do 4k at 144hz (my tb3 dock isnt able to). Shame it doesnt so 2.5gbe, but i use a usb adaptir fir £25, so the price is still great. Keep up the good work 🎉
Greetings everyone! I am in the market for an M3 15" MacBook Air with only 2 thunderbolt ports. Can I hook up my Scarlett 18120 Sound card (USB-C out-Usb 2.0 speed regardless of connection) and a external SSD Drive (Crucial X9 Pro) + iLok to this Thunderbolt Dock and make it all work without any issues? Also I would like to add that I live in Asia where we have 220 -240 Volts power...Would I need an adapter if I buy it on Amazon USA? I would sincerely appreciate your help!!!
I bought one half a year ago for myself. want to share experience Pros: - it somewhat works Cons: - it's noisy as hell. I was able to solve it partially by drowning PCB in glue, but its power supply doesn't look like it can be disassembled so i did nothing there. So coil whinning wakes me up at night. - black screens from time to time. - It often forgets to turn on my radio keyboard after sleep. (it might be fault of keyboard itself, dunno) - My 2k 75hz monitor that runs 75hz if connected directly, stuck with 60hz when connected throught this hub
Why on earth would they put the TB4 that goes to your laptop to the front of the device? Makes neat cable management impossible. My Dell dock has it on the side and it's stupid enough but Kensington went full "hold my beer" on that stupidity.
lol That’s actually funny, cause I’m one of the weirdos that prefers it on the front. I use my laptop for its keyboard and as a second monitor, below my main display, so having the cable come out the front makes sense for me.
@@TheSpareTechRoom Yeah I'm at the opposite end of that spectrum. I got my current laptop from work a year ago and I think since initial setup, I have never opened the lid once. Both at the office and at home I just have it hooked up to a dock and have keyboard, mouse and monitors connected to it so I use it like a portable desktop. At home it's tucked away behind my monitors out of sight, out of mind. That's the one good thing about the Dell docks that they have a power button so you don't have to open the lid to power on your laptop. I've noticed that a lot of the 3rd party docks, no matter how expensive, don't have that. At the moment I only have USB-C dock though so it doesn't have enough bandwidth to drive my two 1440p monitors so I have to have a separate HDMI cable going straight to the laptop's HDMI port. So I have 2 cable system instead of 1 cable. That's why I've been looking out for some TB docks that would solve my issue but they are just so expensive that I haven't been able to justify the cost and so I just keep plugging in two cables like a neanderthal.

This is more like $300 in the uk not $100 like in the thumbnail 👎🏼

Does it support dual displays on recent Macbook Pros?
You should be able to support up to two 4k displays at 60hz. :)
Am I missing something? on Amazon UK its £370.00 ($460.00)
I can’t imagine why it would be so much more expensive in the UK. It’s still showing at around $100 here in the States. I’m sorry about that. 😕
@@TheSpareTechRoom no problem.

Keep an eye out for the Amazon refurbished deals. Those will have them available for half the price sometimes. 😊

I put mine under the desk, so a cable out the front makes organisation easier
Instant pass on this one because of the front facing host port.
For €230 this has to be a very good dock!
That seems very over-priced. I’ve been seeing it for as low as $104, which I think is less than €100.
@@TheSpareTechRoom In Europe it's more expensive. Probably because of import fees.
the naming convention makes it not perfect 😂😂😂😂
This dock is SHT, has no múltiple óptions and its expensive, period
