Seriously, we want to know if the little guy made it. Please respond. I see you have gifted hands and heart, and the next time I’m in this situation I won’t give up so easily. Three years ago my Jackie Chen gave birth to two puppies, she was a Jack Russel/Chihuahua mix (RIP baby girl) . Both puppies were breathing and moving at around midnight one rainy Sunday night. I held both puppies in my hands and gave them a kiss since I was very tired and put them on the blanket near mamma. I slept for four hours, and when I awoke, one of the puppies was not moving at all, the other one was busy nursing.
I held the puppy in the palm of my hand and tried to give it breaths and rubbing the stomach and back. I did this for about 5 minutes and didn’t get any response as the little body was getting very hard......I started crying like a baby and didn’t know what else to do, but I continued with the breaths and rubs and the puppy just never recovered. I laid the puppy near momma and she didn’t do anything, not even tried to lick or anything. I then picked up the puppy which at this point was very hard and went out back and dug a hole and wrapped the puppy in a small blanket and kiss it again, didn’t know if it was a girl or boy, so I put the puppy inside the hole crying my heart out.
This video brought many memories back to light, and only if.......
My puppy was dead, very cold and hard to the touch so I gave the puppy back to earth and will never forget that night.
The one that survived is six and a half years old in human years and his name is Moses.
In my channel I have a couple of videos of Moses and my other dogs. You’re welcome to check those out if you love dogs.

This video is the reason I was able to save 2 puppies from 2 litters....each litter had a puppy that was not breathing. In the first litter it took me about 5 minutes to get the puppy to breath but with the second it was almost 20 minutes of aggressive massage and cpr.
Thank you so much...I have no words that would tell you how you gave me the strength to deal with the possibility that one of our puppies would not make it and how to change the outcome. Thank you

My pup would be dead without my having seen this video the week before my female whelped, and followed your advice!!! Do not give up...I worked on my pup from 2:30 PM until 9:30 PM when I finally tube-fed her for the first time after she rounded the corner and began to breathe on her own.

I have had to do this more than once with more than one litter. A friend of mine just had a litter and she let three of them die without even trying this technique. Some think that if they come out not moving they are gonners. So not true. The worst one took me 20 minutes to bring back. Mom had him outside on Christmas night and he was still in the sack but very, very cold when I found him. He is 95 pounds now and the joy of the neighborhood, smart, friendly and very active. So no brain damage. Don't give up.

I am so glad you included that about the brain damaged bc it seems to be a question on a lot of commenters minds, including mine. so thanks again for reassuring this for us curious, nervous minds...( and soon to be a dog grandma to my cute chocolate lab couple, and their soon to be puppies!!!!) hopefully all goes great! Bc in about 2-4 weeks she delivers! So I'm studying all I can, Praying she has a fast, quick, and safe, issue-free labor! God forbid...by chance a stillborn may occur, I at least have a helpful informative group of experienced breeders & doggie mid wives that have put up such great advice/content, their expriences along with a reassurance there's a chance (no brain damage) !!! So this has made my worries lower-some. 😬😁😬😁
I HOPE I DO MY GIRL PROUD.... bc, I KNOW, She'll do GREAT!!! Wish me luck and send tons of prayers for my fur baby and her's??😁🙏🏼

Our GSD gave birth to 10 puppies on a Friday. After the last one came a weird smell we couldn't pinpoint the source of. Then she stopped having contractions and figured we missed the placenta during the night. About 14 hours later after the 10th puppy, she birthed an 11th pup midday Saturday, but it was stillborn. And that stillborn was the smell we'd been smelling. It wasn't stiff but was limp, lifeless, not breathing, not moving. This was before Google, so I couldn't look up what to do.
Surprisingly, the mom attempted CPR, doggy style. Kept gently pumping its chest with her paw, licking the mouth and nose area. I have human medical training, so I took the puppy and I resuscitation. Now I am seeing your video and wondering if maybe I just didn't try for long enough. I was pumping the chest, like I would for a preemie in need of CPR. Didn't think of doing a torso massage for that long. I tried doing a hard rub to see if I could get the circulation going, but it remained lifeless.
I will never forget how the mom cried when it just wouldn't move, and when we had to take it away from her. It still breaks my heart. Now I think maybe I didn't do enough. Dammit.

Sweetie you tried but I have taken up to 2 hours. I do more than he. I hold puppy face up between my hands and push him up so his snout touches his hind feet and often use a pin to lightly sting him right in the middle of the nose. All this helps bring lifeless puppies back to life

    • @lexjohnson0803
      @lexjohnson0803 6 років тому +15

You tried. That’s all that matters. So many breeders would just throw the puppy in the trash. You did your best with the information you knew, don’t beat yourself up.

    • @yvetteaharrison2726
      @yvetteaharrison2726 6 років тому +9

Believe it or not your medical training is at fault not you, the tought specific time limits after which there's no hope, stop you from doing what this guy did, you trusted your training, unfortunately it's wrong
As long as the lungs are being made to move, the small amount of oxygen getting through the system can innitiate an occasional faint heartbeat, & that can be enough to regenerate a pet or a person long after they appear to be dead
They recently revived a drowned child two hours after he was taken out of a lake, think of the hundreds of people who've had to live with a drowned family member after hearing about that !
We do what we can with the knowledge we have at the time hun,
      You did your best !

She said one came out dead & her friend buried it & it was bothering her. I said why didn't you call me. I could have least told you how to try to rub him between your hands & suction out his mouth. But now I know more thanks to this video. I am making her watch it right now just in case that ever happens again. Thank you for this video - You are an Angel!

Thanks to you & this video, 2 more innocent little lives were saved. The first born, & largest of the litter, was coming out breach and was stuck due to its size. Only his back legs were sticking out. Sac broke & was already turning blue. Took a long time to get out, 1/8 inch at a time between contractions which seemed like an eternity. Forget that “feathering technique”..there was no room. A little vaseline & water helped some. By the time I got him out, he was very blue and limp. I kept working with him but to no avail. I would have given up if I had not watched this video. After what seemed like a very long time, he finally started to show little signs of life but still limp..but I kept working with him..and he finally got better and better, making a full recovery! Same thing happened with the last of 10 puppies, who was also stuck coming out & stayed stuck for awhile cause we were only expecting 9 due to a false xray... and amazingly brought him back too! I advise anyone with a dog about to have puppies to watch this video, not once, but watch it about 3x, because once you are right in the middle of that kind of emergency situation, there is no time to watch anything or call anyone because every second that passes by with no action could mean the difference between life & death. Thank you!!

The other thing is that this looks a lot like an animal-centric form of cpr. I'm assuming that afterwords he put it back with its mother.

Thank you, Great to see how it's done and good results, If only more breeders would just keep at it ,,This also can apply to foals, and calves and kittens .......although the larger animals must be hung over a fence ,as they are too heavy to handle ...Many thanks, You are a true ,great breeder .cheers.

I was somehow shocked at first by what he said and the fact that he started filming the dead puppy, but then I saw how it is possible to bring back to life the puppy. I was amazed!

thank you for posting this video! I had a puppy pass from my first litter. I did the cpr but didn't rub it vigorously enough as you are doing in the video. She is pregnant with her second and final litter. If this happens to a pup this time I will be better prepared thanks to your video.

Resurrection isn't a job and you're just as bad as athletes that wanna do sports to earn a living. Money shouldn't be an expected reward for kind heartedness. I'm shocked that you fail to realize that people who do these things are generally ones who never do anything just for the money!

I’m so sad. I lost one of two puppies I had to do this technique on. I tried doing this to one newborn gasping puppy and it survived which is good. They began to squeak and move and stopped gasping so I placed it with their mama, eventually they latched on.
Another one started to do this too, and I tried the same technique but it didn’t work. He gradually turned purple until it stopped gasping for air and turned limp. I can’t help feel super guilty that maybe I didn’t do enough.
After what felt like trying to no avail, I wanted to leave the puppy to their mama in case she revived him with her warmth and licking but she began to lick in an agitated manner and seemed to want to bite it, so I placed it in a box in another room for us to bury in the morning instead. I’m so heartbroken at the thought of its purple lifeless body by itself in a box without its mother and siblings. I wanted to leave him with his mom but she seemed to grow very agitated.
Before anyone asks, we did take her to the vet. She had emergency c-section due to a stuck puppy which sadly passed. The puppy dying happened hours after the surgery at home. It’s too late and too far for me to have taken the dying puppy.
I feel so sad and worried for the other ones. These aren’t my dogs, they belong to a cousin of mine but she’s pregnant so I’m helping her out and sleeping over at her place. I was called last minute and she didn’t have many supplies such as thermometers, a heater, bulb nasal suction, and so on. I brought her a heater, large bedding, and bottle feeder and formula in case a puppy does not latch. I’m upset at myself for not having bought a suction, for not doing cpr well enough… maybe I gave up too fast. I stopped doing the massage/cpr to its limp, purple, and completely lifeless body a while after seeing no reaction. I should’ve kept trying, I gave up on him and wasted precious time and I feel guilty-maybe he could’ve been saved. Poor baby:(

I wish this worked as well on humans .... Which I'm sure if it does, brain damage comes into play. so that may be the reason humans don't try for 20 minutes up to 7 hours! If I read the description box correctly, the pup was born still born at 2pm and he worked on him until 9pm??? Or I could be confusing it with a comment somewhere in these comments???? Either way, it's an amazing miracle!!! I just wish it could work on, us, humans 😔🙂!

That's absolutely amazing thank you for what you do I love all veterinarians they're good people that I live in the United States of America I don't know where you're if you're in the America or not but I'll tell you that's exactly how the Three Vets we have at our vet hospital here like and they will do anything to save an animal and try not to have to ever put one down I know because my dog hey I rescued him at 8 years old I always had purebred Scottie's and they died of old age and I'm 60 and my mother's the vet tech and she just she's 80 something now but she retired in her late seventies as a vet tech it's just amazing I love animals my dog died of massive cancer but he lived a good long happy life after he went from a accrual Life For Me rescuing him and it was really traumatic he had like little cysts all over his body and then when they started removing them after we didn't worry about it in the beginning cuz the vet didn't think it was a concern that we should worry about that they were not probably malignant well we found out later that that could not be the case and that he had to send off Test 2 pathologist up in Oklahoma City and that's when we found out that he had massive cancer running through his body and it broke my heart and then he woke me up one morning and I flew out of the bed does he have beds all over the house and I washed him every other day he was spoiled he would never eat no dog food I had to cook for him which I had no problem I would cooking chicken organic chicken and rice and that he loved peas I hope that you read this and enjoy it because it's true this would happen to my dog and then I had to put him down because he was suffering my mom ran to the vet's office cheap because they know me from Young and my kids too and wheat they tried to put them on a painkiller but it just wasn't working he was like dying of thirst that was horror for horrific and I will always love him he's on my computer screen and have him here at the house and I loved and still to this day best dog I never thought it would take a pitbull but I did and he was been the best dog in the world so loving so kind of police officer and kids and then we couldn't wait to come up to see bud and they would run and love him up and he would love them up and loved every other dogs it was just a lover anyways thank you for listening my little chat my story about my dog that I rescued and he was very special I think all animals are special you show me me cry

This absolutely works my only suggestion would be to leave the puppy in the palm of your hand but on its back Or at least with head down so the fluid can run out of his mouth this way I would assume you wouldn’t hear all of the wheezing from fluid on the lungs. And you can suction some of the fluid out by putting your entire mouth over the puppies nose and mouth and sucking in. May this work for all of you. Great vid

We have to be careful to, because if oxygen is deprived from life long. We have to worry about brain damage.
