@@heseesall25 You either honestly don't understand the use of the words theory in scientific terms or you are willfully using deceptive propaganda to make your argument.
I'm going to assume you are writing from a place of ignorance. So, let me point out a few things. Science does not work in proofs. It is IMPOSSIBLE to prove any theory. The best we can do is collect evidence. At a certain point we collect enough evidence to accept a theory as the best explanation. (The word proof, used precisely, really only applies to mathematics, where it is possible to prove the Pythagorean Theorem, for example).
There is a colloquial understanding that in science the word theory is used when we can't absolutely prove something and law is used when we can. This is not the case. A law actually has less explanatory scope than a theory. A law only describes a natural phenomenon but doesn't explain how that phenomenon works. Newton's Law of gravity, for example, explains that that all objects with mass are attracted to one another and through that law, we know why an apple fell from a tree and we can also predict the orbits of the planets in our solar system. What Newton's law cannot do is explain why objects with mass are attracted to one another. It wasn't until Einstein's General Theory of Relativity, which explained that objects with mass, bend and warp space time, causing objects that would normally move in a straight line to curve towards each other, that we had a understanding of why gravity works.
I tried a Google search for the bat fossils found with dinosaur fossils and I came up empty. Can you provide a source?
The fact that it would suck if morality was relative is not an argument for the existence of God. The universe we live in has no obligation not to suck. As to the nazis, can you explain to me how objective morality helped us demonstrate the wrongness of their beliefs? From what I remember, no one was able to sit down with Hitler and explain how his position was morally wrong. It seems our sense of what is "objectively right" was different from what his sense of it. So, we had to fight a war over that disagreement. From a practical point of view, whether or not there is a god, we live in a world of moral relativism, where one person's morality wins out over another only through argument, convincing or (sometimes) violence. (I edited this paragraph because either there was a glitch from UA-cam the first time I posted, or I accidentally deleted a chunk before posting.)

If at least one part of it is untrue, one can't reasonably assert that any specific claim (especially an extraordinary supernatural claim) must be true unless we provide corroborating evidence for that claim. We have no such corroborating evidence for the resurrection. We have only the Bible.
When you add to that the fact the stories had been passed by mouth for at least 30 years before being written down (largely by anonymous authors), suddenly even the originals (let alone the edits) seem a bit dodgy.
Have you ever played the "telephone" game? How about instead of playing with one discrete sentence over a 10 minute time period, it's books worth of detailed stories including places and dates over decades. There are a couple ways this information could be transmitted over 30ish years.. Lots of transmissions from person to person to maximize rememberability (lots of people know the story so if some of them die, there are still more people who can pass it on). This scenario of course has translation issues and miscommunication issues and exaggeration issues and omission issues etc. Each link in the chain is potential for an "edit" or mistake. So the more people in this web, the more distinct stories there will be at the end and it will be much more difficult to trust either of them.
The other scenario is one or a few people carrying the memory on their own and then writing about it 30 years later. We know enough about the physiology of memory to know that eye witness testimony (if that even is what the gospels are) after 30 years should hardly be considered a firm foundation for believing in extraordinary supernatural claims.

Even if you could call the Torah/bible/Quran evidence, it’s poor. For example, if the bible is egregiously faulty then the main character’s existence is likely fantasy. If the existence of Yahweh/Allah is a fiction (Muslims believe in the first five books of the Old Testament) then the god man/prophet Jesus cannot stand, nor any Abrahamic Prophet, such as Muhammad. Faith based on the contents of the bible/Quran is worthless for the following reasons…
Of the Canaanite gods. El was the top god (sort of Roman Saturn) Ba’al (Jupiter) was next, then down the line was the war god Yahweh (Mars). The Jews nicked him and made him the creator. All nonsense.
The first line of the bible is clearly incorrect. The Earth was formed at least 9.8 billion years after the heavens. How did the creator get that wrong? And, the rest of the creation is wrong. It’s as if an ancient ignorant tribe wrote it all by themselves, no god to help.
There are no waters above the firmament. Heaven isn’t up there either, we’ve been there. The tribes of the Middle East wouldn’t have known oceans would be frozen but for the heat of the sun. Yet, in the biblical account, water filled the oceans and outer space, all with no sun. The light that made up the day was created before the sun. The ancients had no concept it was the sun that caused day and night onto a rotating Earth. The moon isn’t a light. It’s fiction by an ignorant tribe with no access to a god creator.
Adam was made from dirt by magic and he, this god, forgot about Eve, an afterthought. so not an all knowing and wise god then?
Snakes and donkeys talk, nonsense fiction, right up there with Harry Potter, though JK Rowling was clearly a better writer with fewer continuity errors.
This god set up Eve by placing this magic apple within her reach, before she knew right from wrong. Then punished humanity thereafter. What a vicious god, if not a fictional one.
Nonsense fiction, by an ignorant ancient people writing about their mythology, their nation’s origins, steeped in the mists of the past, just the same as the Greek, Persian and Babylonian cultures write about their make believe gods who were equally fervently worshipped. Inanna, the dying and rising goddess was such an example. But many more dying and rising gods in the lexicon of ancient myths. Virgin births were pretty common too.
Adam and Eve’s children (as Eve was a clone of Adam) and grandchildren (as Cain, Able and Seth only had Eve to produce offspring or with their unknown sisters) could only have been produced by incest, then double incest, according to the biblical account. But, as Eve was a clone of Adam, there would be no genetic diversity. Such a lack of diversity would have meant the death of the human species, ask the Hapsburgs. But then, their god wouldn’t have known about genetics? Of course not.
The Exodus apparently didn’t happen according to all evidence, acknowledged by the Jewish archaeologists who have tried to find it. The Egyptians never wrote of their army being swallowed by the sea. Mosses may never existed.
There is a massive amount of genocide in the bible by a god who failed to get the locals to behave. Genocide because the Israelites needed a land to make home. If a creator of the universe and humans could have just thought a new land, a new island, south of Cyprus, it would have appeared. Easy for a god, not so for an ancient tribe to pull off? Then, this god could have told these others how to behave and punished individuals, if that’s what was needed. But no, he went straight to mass murder. What?
And, the greatest god in the universe was defeated by iron chariots: Judges1:19. That is so ridiculous, such a puny god. Or, is it because the story was a creation of a tribe that had no concept of future technologies or tactics to defeat these new Iron Age chariots? I’m sure that a human Napoleon type tactician could have done better than the all wise, all powerful fictitious creator god.
Genesis 19 tells us of Lot being raped by this daughters. And yet this god is moral? He could have changed the course of their predicament, found him a younger wife or servant to sleep with, if a god. More incest.
Abrahamic religion is a blood sacrifice barbaric religion.
The books that were supposedly written by Mosses consist of a linguistic style that didn’t exist at the time of his “life”. It’s a fictitious narrative, written by the Jews to give their new nation an historical legitimacy, and unify them, in the midst of other powerful cultures in the Middle East. Didn’t help much though, they were constantly being invaded and subjugated by more powerful “gods” of other warring nations. Even Yahweh acknowledged there were other gods.
Remember the Ten Commandments tablets that were conveniently broken and then without fuss, lost. An all powerful creator of the universe who missed the opportunity to create the tablets out of an advanced technology, Titanium or, something really exotic perhaps? Is that because the Jews didn’t know about such a thing with no understanding of the future? The forging and preservation of such a technology would have cemented the truth of their god. Broken conveniently disappeared stone tablets: clearly, no god involved.
Noah and his flood occurred when the Egyptians where going about their cultural and religious practices that continued afterwards; and, their religion was not replaced by the flood family’s immediate ancestors, fanning out from the ark. The Pharaohs and their gods continued unabated. No Yahweh? More incest?
The Chinese culture and writing developed along a continuum and they too were never taken the religion of Yahweh from the Middle East, by Noah’s relatives.
And, the ancient Britons and Australians failed to notice they were meant to be dead.
The New Testament, if it is read, critically, is inconsistent and evolves over time.
Indeed, the gospels were not written for decades after the death of this Jesus, whose birth and death are still questionable and no date can be asserted with clarity.
There’s no evidence that all the first born were killed either in Egypt nor by Herod. I think the Egyptians would have recorded such a calamity and the calamities of the plagues, but nothing. Was it all made up?
There is real historical evidence of John the Baptist, but not of the greater Jesus. There is historical evidence of Apollonius of Tyana, who allegedly ascended to heaven, similar to Jesus, but there is no extra biblical evidence of Jesus during his lifetime. There is an historical record of Jesus Ben Pandera but, no Jesus the Galilean outside of the bible. Nothing. There’s Jesus ben Ananias, a rude peasant, who went around Jerusalem in 66CE prophesying its fall in 70CE; he’s recorded in documents outside the bible, but not the biblical Jesus. His alleged disciples never wrote anything they were uneducated peasants. Contemporaries never recorded his miracles nor his troublesome nature. The bible account says he was widely known and a divisive figure that the Romans never recorded. Neither did the Jews.
And, the crucified were left to rot on the cross/pole on which they were hung as a warning to insurrectionists? No empty tomb, it’s a fiction to turn a myth into a “fact”. To turn a dead man or a fictional man into god.
Pilate was, in real history, recorded history, a truly nasty contemptuous man, he would never have allowed the process of crucifixion as a warning to have been undermined. And, the alleged trial is a tale of the blood cult of scapegoating. Even Barabbus was a literary device representing scapegoating, suggesting it never occurred. Barabbus means, son of the teacher, or son of the father. The gospel writers where representing the two characters as essentially the same, one became the goat sacrifice. And, the twist was that the Jews shouted to let the murderer go, allowing the blame for Jesus’s death to be placed on the Jews and not the imperial Romans. It was very much a political narrative because the Jews and Romans where essentially at war, the destruction of the Temple in 70AD/CE, and this new sect/cult needed to distinguish themselves from the Jewish troublemakers, and the ongoing violence of the time.
Paul never knew Jesus and only depicted him as a spiritual vision. He knew nothing of the man and nothing of his life or his teachings. More evidence that the Chrestos (anointed) was mythical?
The first time the gospels were mentioned was in 180AD/CE by Irenaeus. Indeed, a very prominent Christian, Theophilus, said that he came to believe in Jesus from reading the Jewish Scriptures or, Torah. No mention of the gospels, no quoting of anything Jesus allegedly said. Best date for the gospels is circa, 170-182AD/CE. The myth of the god man Jesus was created over many years. Mark was first written, not until at least 70AD/CE, say Christian scholars but, as above, likely much later.
No record of the star of Bethlehem, of the graves emptying, or the sky darkening. It’s fiction. No Mosses, Abraham, No Noah, no Flood. As for flying horses in the Quran, that’s straight out of Greek mythology, and no one should believe in such nonsense today.

"A preacher and another leader...died early yesterday after drinking strychnine at a service" - 2 Drink Strychnine At Service and Die In Display of Faith, New York Times. It's not like the Bible is full of lies, right? • @mythbuster1483
      @mythbuster1483 2 роки тому

The bible has been debunked as fiction by science, archaeology and biblical scholarship, but fortunately, you can PROVE that the bible is false and that Jesus is imaginary with a simple experiment. The anonymous scribes who wrote the gospel fairy tales claim that Jesus said: "If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer" (Matt. 21:22). “Whatever you ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you" (John 16:23), "whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours" (Mark 11:24). So go ahead and set up your video camera and pray for Jesus to appear to you right now! If my reality-based worldview is correct, nothing will happen, which I can confidently predict in advance. But feel free to prove it to yourself that Jesus is imaginary. How did I know nothing would happen?
To counter typical excuses, the bible claims that Jesus appeared to people after his supposed death (1 Cor. 15:3-8), including the claim that he appeared to 500 people at once, and appeared to Paul. So the authors of the gospel tales knew that it was necessary to PROVE claims by having Jesus appear to people after his death in order to provide EVIDENCE that he was really resurrected (Acts 1:3). *FACTS*
      1) If Jesus was real, and a god, he COULD appear to you, or to anyone.
      2) He supposedly appeared to others in ancient stories that we have no evidence for.
      3) Jesus supposedly promised that believers would “receive whatever you ask for in prayer” (Matt 21:22).
      4) Regardless how much you pray or ask...Jesus won't appear.
The most likely explanation for the above? Jesus won’t appear because he CAN’T. Fictional literary characters can't hear prayers or do anything in real life. The authors of the gospel tales were liars. Praying to Jesus is no different than praying to Spider-Man or Gandalf, or any other fictional character in a book.

The bible has been debunked as fiction by science, archaeology and biblical scholarship, but you can prove that it’s false yourself with a simple experiment. First, the bible claims that Jesus appeared to people after his supposed death (1 Cor. 15:3-8), including the claim that he appeared to 500 people at once, and appeared to Paul. So Jesus supposedly proved his resurrection by appearing to people, showing that it was necessary to appear to people in order to provide EVIDENCE that he was really resurrected. Further, the gospel stories claim: "If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer" (Matt. 21:22). “Whatever you ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you" (John 16:23), "whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours" (Mark 11:24). So go ahead and set up your video camera and pray for Jesus to appear to you right now! If my atheism is correct, nothing will happen. But feel free to prove it to yourself that Jesus is imaginary.
      1) If Jesus is real, and is a god, he COULD appear to you, or to anyone.
      2) He supposedly appeared to others in ancient stories that we have no evidence for.
      3) Jesus supposedly promised to appear in response to prayers.
      4) FACT: Regardless how much you pray or ask...he won't appear.
The most likely explanation for the above? Jesus won’t appear because he CAN’T. Fictional literary characters can't hear prayers or do anything in real life. Praying to Jesus is no different than praying to Spider-Man or Gandalf.
Feel free to list your excuses for why Jesus doesn't appear. I'll play 'logical fallacy bingo' with your responses.
Also, why am I accurately able to predict the outcome in advance? “The predictive power of a scientific theory refers to its ability to generate testable predictions.” By the way, liars like to say, “Do not put my lies to the test,” but those telling the truth don’t mind if you validate their claims. Right?

Your posts prove that prayer to your imaginary god is no different than praying to any other imaginary god. The gospel fairy tales claim: "If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer" (Matt. 21:22), “Whatever you ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you" (John 16:23), "whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours" (Mark 11:24). Clearly, those claims are false, or you’d be able to post a video demonstrating your magic Jeebus prayer superpowers. Go ahead and pray for Jesus to appear to you on video, and then post it to UA-cam! My prediction: you won’t, because you know *NOTHING WILL HAPPEN* , because praying to imaginary gods doesn’t work. Do you have an understanding of modern medicine? Did you go to medical school? How is an understanding of modern medicine necessary to see that someone who was dead is now alive? Jesus was not moribund, as he would have been from fainting and coming to after gross torture when he appeared. By all accounts, he was hale and hearty. And these people didn't perpetrate a fraud, they died for what they claimed.

The fact by my view is this: If you believe that there is no way that all of this was made by accident, then that means it was created by a being greater than us. Accident or designed? I know there is a great deal of things that the Bible writes about that seems impossible. Sure you can find some flaws here and there, possibly, but the big picture remains not changed and to me unswervingly true. Let me give you an example. I graduated over three decades ago, but I can’t remember where I ate dinner, what I wore afterwords or which of two towns was the after party. But, the big picture was I graduated. Atheists start picking a part small details that might be off or, heck for all we know mistranslated. But, the big picture remains unchanged. The views of the writers may differ, but the story is the same. But, it’s a private journey that you take. You are going to have to take the facts (strongly urge you to read the Bible as fact, while you do it) and see where it leads you. By the way, I have heard atheists tell me, ‘I’ve read the Bible and it’s a fairy tale’ Most of those folks, however already have their mind made up, they aren’t open to the possibility. Anyway, just a thought for your consideration. Have a great day!

War Peace Hello, great questions and I’m not sure I’m qualified to answer them, but I will try. First of all do you plan on having kids? If so, do you expect they will always be obedient to you? If not, do you plan to lock ‘em up so you can control their actions if not their thoughts? To me that is the closest I can come to understanding God’s choice. He wants a relationship with all, but he knows we will sin because it’s our nature. He sent his son as a perfect sacrifice for this deficiency we all have. But, we can choose to ignore him and his gift. If your sone told you he hated you, ignored you, disowned you and refused to acknowledge his relationship with you, would you still give him his full inheritance? Or would you, heartbroken choose to allow him to be separate from you and give his inheritance to something more deserving? That’s what Hell is....separation from God. The inheritance is eternal life in heaven. Hope that at least gave you a different point of view. Have a great day!

I.e., that it is well reasoned, documented, researched in so far as previous research on the same subject, and that the math/statistics, etc. are done properly.

@@veridicusmaximus6010 Hi hopefully you read this. I remember the fears I had of death. There were many question marks and believing that there was no way to truly know. However, I saw that the 10 commandments are God's law. As most people know, we all have broken them. I realized at a time, that I had lied, which made me a liar. I had stolen, which made me a thief. I had blasphemed God's name and used it as a curse word. The God who gave me life and created my DNA, I disrespected immensely with blasphemy. I thought I hadn't committed adultery. But Jesus said that even looking with lust is adultery with the heart in Jesus eyes. So wow, I was also an adulterer. I realized, if God judged me by the 10 commandments, I would be guilty. What about you? Have you broken God's law too? I thought since I was a supposedly "good person" I would go to heaven. But the bible says, "Most men will proclaim each his own goodness" meaning we all can defend our goodness. "I'm not as bad as that person! Well look at hitler! I give homeless people money"!But see, that wouldn't work in a court of law. If a man committed a crime like lets say, robbed a bank. And tells the judge "Judge, yes I'm guilty, but I'm a good person. I help my family, I donate to charity, and I'll do better!" If the judge is a good judge, would he let the criminal go? No. He would say "I'm judging your crime not your good works. And of course you should do those things and of course you should be better. You're going to jail!" Well God is a perfect judge. He is just and the only righteous and holy being. He also not only knows our crimes, but our thoughts and hearts. So I would be guilty and deserve hell. But, God is also merciful and loving. So He made a way for us to not go to hell. You probably know what it is: He sent His only begotten son to die on the cross. But you may not know this: The 10 commandments are called the moral law. You and I broke the law, Jesus paid our fine. That's what happened on the cross. That's why before He died, he cried out "it is finished!" Meaning the debt had been paid. And He died then rose again and defeated death and what you have to do is repent and trust in Jesus like a parachute. Most of us are like a person standing at the edge of a plane and we know we have to jump. And this is our plan: we'll flap our arms and save ourselves. I'd tell that person "don't do that! Trust the parachute!" You not only need to acknowledge Jesus, but put Him on like a parachute. And repent means to turn from our sins meaning have a change of heart. Realize that God is right and you're wrong and you cannot save yourself. Be humble and ask for His mercy. Once you truly repent and trust Jesus, God says he'll grant you everlasting life and He cannot lie. He is without sin. And He will also give you a brand new heart that desires righteousness because of your faith. So, when are you gonna do that?

What lots of people (even pastors) don't (yet) understand.
God created us according to His own image and likeness. Godly.
Mankind/the first Adam fell. The image of God in man got lost. That's why there is all this predicament on earth (selfishness, greed, lust, wars, sicknesses, death, etc).
We are all born into that mess.
For the fall of man a perfect atoning sacrifice had to be made.... that is what God did in Christ.
With His own once and for all perefect sacrifice, He paid the debt for the fall of man for us, so we can be indwelled by His Spirit again and finally receive the divine life of the ages back, the first Adam let got of in the fall of man. An amazing act of grace and love by our creator.
That is what you see happening in Christ's first disciples. They too healed all and walked in unselfish love.
And yes.... that is still avaible today. The holy blood is in place, the Holy Spirit is here to give us understanding, power and transform us back to origin.
Not to be debated about, but to be embraced and be-come.
So: The Kingdom of God already came. Through Christ, in Spiritform, in those that understand.
Hence the divine healing miracles we experience.
God manifested in Christ to give us back the divine life mankind lost in the fall of Adam.
Christ, the exact image of the invisible God.
The image we were created after in Gen 1.
The image we lost in the fall of man.
The image that can be freely restored by Christ's blood and Holy Spirit working IN us.
What a plan. What a solution. What a love. What a God. Jesus is amazing.
It is the ultimate conclusion of the word and plan of God. God came full circle.
He Himself stooped down from glory to restore us back to original created value: Christlikeness. Walking in divine healing power and unselfish love.
Jesus, born of the Spirit of God, filled with the spirit of God. The "Son" of God, the incarnated word, God in the flesh.
For three years He healed all, raised the dead, casted out demons, controlled nature, spoke pure divine truth.
    He said:
"Follow Me. If you see Me, you see the Father. The Father and I are one. The glory I have IN My Father, I give to you. It pleases the Father to give you His Kingdom/Holy Spirit/divine nature. I will send Holy Spirit, the same as Me, He will be IN you, guide you into truth and give you explosive power. The same miracles i do, you will do too, because you will understand that the Father is IN Me and I am IN you. Freely I give you My Kingdom/Holy Spirit/divine nature, heal the sick, raise the dead, cast out demons, freely I give, freely share" Etc, etc, etc.
I have experienced thousands of beautifull healing miracles through the power of Holy Spirit IN me already. Broken bones, cancers, covid, all kinds of infirmities healed in seconds. Demons manifesting and casted out by a simple "get out, in Jesus name".
Jesus. De name above all names. In Him all power and wisdom is sourced and.... He calls us one with Him. God in man and man in God again. C'mon Jesus!!
So.... again: God stooped down IN Christ to restore us back to Gen 1:27 were He said: "Let us make man according to our image and likeness and let them have authority.....": walk as Christ.
Christ, the exact image of the invisible God. The image we were created after and being restored to by His atoning blood for the fall of man and indwelling Holy Spirit.
You are free to receive this original divine life of the ages by Holy Spirit of Christ/God. Ask Him to guide you into truth. Read the Gospel of John and fall in love with your creator.
You are not made for the fall of man and its effects, but for the image/glory of God and to walk like Christ. Holy Spirit is the guide and transforming power that will get you there. Amazing grace.
A big leap in faith can be made when we start realizing we are already IN Christ, IN the last Adam.
Free from the fall! Loved! Growing into awareness of our new (yet old) godly identity. Changing by Holy Spirit. The most fullfilled life ever.
Paul healed all on Malta. He understood and wrote:
"As in the first Adam ALL died (lost the divine nature), so also ALL were made alive IN Christ to walk in Zoë (= divine life) again".
"IN Christ (the last Adam) we are co-cruisified (dead to the fall and its effects), co-raised (justified/made righteousness, holy, blameless, above reproach), co-seated (one with Him)"
"The fullness of deity dwells in Christ and YOU HAVE BEEN MADE COMPLETE IN HIM, who is the head of every principality and power".
So.... thank you Jesus! Thank you for redeeming me from the fall of man. Thank you for your Holy Spirit that makes this new (yet old) divine life come alive in me. You are amazing!
In the shadow of Peter the sick healed... He understood too and wrote:
"By Gods power (Holy Spirit) and knowing Christ, we have become partakers of the divine nature and have escaped the fall of man".
The divine life of the ages has been returned to us by Jesus once and for all perfect atoning sacrifice for the debt of the fall of man and His indwelling Holy Spirit in us. Jesus/God is amazing!!!
Ask Him to give you revelation and change you to the way it was before the fall of man: Christlikeness.
He will do so. For it is written: "the Spirit brings forth after His own kind".
"I have come to give you Zoë (divine life) in abundance...."

Most Christian apologetics are variations on 1) "Magic book says so" (fallacy of circular reasoning), or 2) "Some member of my cult claimed that these stories are true" (fallacy of anonymous authority), none of which is EVIDENCE that the stories are true. Claims aren’t facts. They have *NO EVIDENCE WHATSOEVER* that a god even exists, let alone that he impregnated some guy’s mother 2,000 years ago. And who would they know? Because “Magic book says so”? Or because “Some member of my cult claimed that Jesus’ mother was impregnated by a god”? And how would that cult member know? Did they witness this happening? Dr. Rafael Lataster: “With his first premise concerning certain undisputed facts, such as that Jesus’ tomb was found empty, I noted how many scholars dispute them, and exposed the fallacious methods used in unearthing these [supposed]1 facts. The unreliability of the sources - which bizarrely included sources that are not extant, i.e., hypothetical sources - was then explained, which resulted in questions over whether even a more mundane ‘Historical Jesus’ had existed…Content to charitably accept Jesus’ historicity, I then effectively constructed an argument against miracles…This was achieved by appealing to historical frequencies and contemporary observations on natural laws, so that miraculous claims could be analysed probabilistically. In this way, Christians can reasonably refute the miraculous claims of competing traditions, but must also accept the damning implications concerning their own. Finding Craig’s hypothesis that Jesus was raised from death to be extremely improbable even given supernaturalism, I also noted other problems, such as that there is no necessary causal relationship with the God of theism, and the fact that the resurrection does not entail Christian exclusivism.” - The Case Against Theism.

ok, check out this argument I heard somewhere about the authenticity of the Gospels: The Gospels may to some degree look like fairytales because of all the miraculous things that happen in them, but they do the one thing that no fairytale would ever do: they specify the place and time where the action took place. All the great fairytales begin with "once upon a time in a far away land" as you can see they have no interest in specifying the time or place of the action, because it would be somewhat repugnant if they did that. Imagine if I told you a fairytale that took place in your home town when your parents were kids... do you think my fairytale would catch on? No, because fairytales that pretend to be historical (and so close to the life and times of the first readers!!!!) are repugnant. But the Gospel, even though its contents seem quite fantastic, and even though it tells you where and when it all happened, still, it has made it to our days, partly because it passed the "first readers test"... the first readers took them as accounts of things that they themselves could verify in other ways.

      Specifics coming up.
      Greek, Hebrew and Roman.
From extra-biblical sources alone, Jesus had a brother called James (Josephus), and was located in Palestine (Tacitus, Lucian, Acts of Pilate). Jesus was known to be a wise, virtuous and ethical man (Josephus, Mara Serapion) who was reported to have both performed miracles (Acts of Pilate) and made prophecies that were fulfilled (Phlegon, cf. Josephus). A result of his ministry was that he had many disciples, from both the Jews and the Gentiles (Josephus, Talmud). At the beginning of his ministry he encountered a man called John the Baptist of whom baptized him (Josephus).
Jesus was worshiped as a deity (Pliny, Lucian), and some believed he was the Messiah (Josephus) and called him “king” (Mara Serapion). Some people saw Jesus as a philosopher with unique teachings (Lucian, Mara Serapion, Gospel of Thomas). The Jewish leaders judged Jesus as guilty of apostasy (Talmud, cf. Apocryphon of John), and no-one came forward to support Jesus in his trial (Talmud).
He died at the hands of Pontius Pilate (Tacitus) who crucified him (Josephus, Talmud, Lucian, Gospel of Truth, Acts of Pilate). The event occurred on Passover Eve (Talmud), he was nailed to a cross (Phlegon, Gospel of Truth, Acts of Pilate, cf. Tacitus), and after his death the executioners gambled over his clothing (Acts of Pilate). There was a three-hour darkness at the moment of the crucifixion (Thallus, Phlegon), and an earthquake (Phlegon), all of which corroborates New Testament events.
Jesus’ teachings spread after his death (Tacitus, cf. Suetonius, Pliny), the Christian religion was named after Jesus (Tacitus), Christians formed a section of society (Pliny), and exercised faith in Jesus’ teachings (Lucian). Christians also believed in their own eternal immortality and scorned death (Lucian), and that Jesus’ death procured their salvation (Gospel of Truth).
The disciples never abandoned Jesus’ teachings even in persecution (Josephus), and many Christians were exiled from Rome for their beliefs in him (Suetonius). Many were also still present in Rome by the fall of Jerusalem in 70 AD (Tacitus, Suetonius). They were also described as law breakers for meeting in secret, and were blamed for drinking blood, and burning their children (Pliny, cf. Trajan, Hadrian).
According to Habermas a few of the forged Gnostic sources are also corroborative of the New Testament literature. They relate that on one occasion that Jesus asked his disciples who they thought he was (Gospel of Thomas), that Jesus was flesh and blood (Gospel of Truth, Treatise on Resurrection), and that he had the title “Son of Man” (Gospel of Thomas). Jesus was also said to be the “Son of God” (Treatise on Resurrection, Gospel of Truth, Gospel of Thomas).
Add to that Papias, who was a Greek living in Hierapolis, AD. 60 to AD 130 AD. He wrote the Exposition of the Sayings among other things and quotes large portions of all 4 Gospels and attributes authorship to Matthew, Mark, Luke and John *by name* . Making him a living contemporary with eyewitnesses living at the time.
And I have access to Chinese records, AD 31, linked to the birth, person, and events of his death. They're accurately dated in the Chinese archives.
Ask the right questions, you get the right answers. Blessings on the Journey.

Jason Goeders Lol. Dr. Habermas has a Ph.D in Philosophy so he knows what he’s talking about. But surely you can top that, right?

@@skullleader9791 Isn't that the beauty of logic? It doesn't care about your credentials, when you commit a logical fallacy even a Ph.D doesn't get you off the hook. And just fyi I suggest you look up the argument from authority fallacy, as you've just committed it. I also would note that you did not refute my observation of a sliding scale for standards of evidence. Can you refute it or are logical fallacies as far as you can get?

Jason Goeders I’m not intimidated by your challenge of your refutation of observation of sliding scale for standards of evidence.. Anything can be learned given time it’s only that my forte isn’t Philosophy. You might be well-versed with the subject but your attempts are palpable at best

@@MoarRushPl0x Two that come to me off the top of my head are the miracle of Fatima and the miracles performed by Sathya Sai Baba. In Fatima, Portugal in 1917, in front of thousands of people the sun is reported to have zoomed toward the earth and then zig zagged back to it's original location. Countless people gave testimony confirming this. Are you going to suggest we believe this actually happened? Without the rest of the world noticing? Without the rest of the solar system noticing? The evidence is much stronger for the Fatima miracle then the resurrection so if you don't believe both I'm curious as to why. Sai Baba, a self proclaimed Indian god incarnate is said to have been born of a virgin, healed the sick, and even raised the dead. All while living in the 20th century. Thousands of people will attest to his miracles. He was a big deal in India. I'm going to presume you are skeptical of these claims. If so, you are inconsistent with your standards of evidence. If eye witness testimony is good enough for the resurrection it should be good enough for Sai Baba's miracles as well.

I'm still waiting for the proof. All I heard was "some people believed it, right after they claimed it happened."

Only imaginary gods need to be defended by credulous fanatics. 😉 And all Christian defenses are a bunch of logical fallacies. All Christians can do is say, "Magic book says so" (circular reasoning fallacy), or "Some member of my cult claimed that these stories are true" (fallacy of anonymous authority), which isn't EVIDENCE that the stories are true.

There just aren’t records of Jesus from his time, that’s the biggest red flag imo.

@@mythbuster1483 this is mainly because a believer in Christ couldn't possibly make a non believer "see" in a matter of minutes. People want evidence and they don't understand that the Bible IS evidence. It's written geneology, history, narrative, poetry and documentation over a span of 7000 years in a small area we know as Israel (and surrounding cities of this time).
Athiest also don't know how to seperate THEIR disbelief from a historical documentation. Most of the time they dont know how to seperate the man from the belief. What I mean is, a man named Jesus definitely existed during Pontius Pilates time. This isn't for debate. Historians and archeologists all agree that this man walked and preached to both Jews and gentiles. What's in question is whether He was divine and from God. The New Testament are written accounts of those who were taught by Christ (Yesuah). The later letters (Corinthians, Ecclesiasties, Romans etc) were early letters directed to the early churches after Christs ressurection. These were letters that were found and collected by archeologists. They were said by Paul (who was in prison) and documented by Luke (a physician) and passed to those who claimed to be Christ followers (but were again, mistaken and had fallen to other gods and beliefs).
When one really wants to disprove Christ, I encourage them to study the Bible as any (true) Christain would. Because at the very least, you will gain wisdom, peace and a way of life that seems completely reasonable and logical. Christ was not religious. It was the religious people who killed Him. No Christain has to be married to any religion to be a Christ follower.
Our evidence IS the Bible because when you actually study the Bible, you realize it's derived by culture, history and geography - backed by thousands of years of documentation. It isn't just some book written by 1 man. It's a collection of documents (from geneology, history, experiences, poetry, testimonies, etc etc) by multiple people from Kings, peasants, tax collectors, religious head holds, nobodies, fisherman and so many more.
