Man I'm 41, I haven't ridden in decades. I decided to buy a bike and see if I can get my youth back. You are a pretty awesome teacher, keep it up.
Dude welcome back! Super stoked to hear that! Wishing you the best and thanks for the kind words
I was just saying in another video that I turn 40 this month and want to get a 24in bmx. I like that they are making them bigger these days. Being 6'0 and 240lbs I look like a bear on a circus bike on a 20in bmx. Lol
32 and I did the same thing. I feel like I suck but I don’t care it’s still fun.
I like how you actually explain your mistakes other than cutting them out and not putting light on them, very very helpful dawg
My pleasure Thomas!
your tutorials got the best explanations, you’re amazing bro
Genuinely means a lot! Thank youuu
Glad to see the consistency with vids again! Keep it up Alfredo and keep safe!
Means a lot Mr. Purcell!
Nice to see a little flatland action....everything leads to something.
Couldn’t have said it better myself!
The how to Tuesday we always wanted
I’ll have to try pop off a few of these on my day off
Yasss!!
I’m so excited for new consistent videos!
Stoked to hear!! 😄
Thanks for the how to! Just got myself another bike this year after 6 years away from riding! I’m stoked
Love how you make these entertaining and informational much love Alfredo 🤙🏼💜
Great vids. Just stumbled upon your channel and recently learned bar spins on my DJ mtb and really liked your bar spin vid and found it helpful even though I already could bar. Helped me get the balls for manual bars. I also love the traditional explanation of tricks because I am a big fan of doing things the proper way
Used to race Indermediate ages 8-12. Haven’t touched a bike since. In my early 30’s now just bought a Kink Gap and relearning this sport. SUBBED
Nice to see you putting content back out and a homie and I been trying these this helped a lot!!!
Stoked to hear that Dilon!
You are good at getting back. That's awesome. Hey great videos man. I'm hitting 35 and Wana mess around with my kid. I never had the drive or chance to really get into it back in the day but I Wana push myself now since I have the time and I made a decent bike. I'm a mid school guy and a huge mirra fan so I picked up a haro mirra flair. Trying to find those old fusion parks is rough but it's going to be my mirra tribute bike. I really dig your zen man great videos.thanks for taking the time to teach!
Definitely gonna be learning this again tomorrow on my day off, been years since I did one. Keep up the great videos my dude!
Stoked to hear!! I’ll keep them coming as long as you keep coming back!
@@AlfredoMancuso I got the notifications on my friend, I'll definitely be back!
Landed this yesterday and I knew you’d have a vid to help clean up my game🙌🏻🤜🏻
Big dawg, you have renewed my love for the ride. Been watching your vids all day! after a few, I got the RL out the shed and loved up. You got a kinda contagious energy, no pun intended. Lol
Hahaha man, there’s nothing that gets me more hyped to hear!!
My new favorite channel! Love to tune in to an episode of epic bmx shop to watch with my breakfast. Hehe
Keep the great work up man, your doing awesome
OMG FREDO! YOU DONT KNOW HOW MUCH I WANTED THIS TUTORIAL!
I read your mind!
yes bro I'm working on it this tutorial has been fantastic just like all your tutorials and I will send a clip when I finally get it, thanks. You are the man!
Stoked to hear! I look forward to seeing the video!
Thanks Bro! I have commitment issues. I've been learning it the wrong way. I guess I'll try the right way and commit. If I die I die. I'm pushing 40 so I'm very strategic on what I learn and try. One thing in your tut that I don't hear in most is why its better to jump into it to level the pedals. Makes a ton of sense now that I know. ****G-Turn or 360 tire tap next?******
your doing a awesome job
i can spin the bike around it’s just that i can’t keep balance on the front tire
If I do it the wrong technique like how you learned as I kid except level my pedals out will that be correct way?
Alf gang 💪 can you do a vid on half cabs on cassette? Love the vids and all your fans have missed you stay safe and bless up
Yess!! Most definitely can do that!
I'm jamming with my right, but I can't hold my foot in the air.Do you have any advices?
can you somehow dodge the problem with the pedals by using the pegs? either jump of the pegs or land on them? because that nollie part seems to be difficult and scary
Good video man.
I'd love to see you do double or triple tailwhips - Clint Miller style! Maybe even Canadian nosepick double tailwhip. I'm 46, never been much of a trickster, took up "freestyle" 4 months ago. A footjam tailwhip is on my bucket list so hopefully one day soon you'll be able to see me do it on my UA-cam channel Old Fart on a BMX
Can u run brakes and still do whip stuff??? Noob here thinking of installing brakes but dont wanna limit myself either.. THANKS!!
This is awesome! Turned 55 this year. Just bought a 2022 Hoffman Condor. Try to get back into the BMX thing like I did back in the 80s. I have some old school Hammer Shin Guards. My shins tell enough stories from, Rat Trap peddles. 😂
Gonna try this been wanting this trick for time
Excellent .you made my day
love it. Please do more how to's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One of my faves is halflash footjam tailwhip. Violent trick.
I'll try footjam tailwhip.
huh, I always jam my right foot and kick around with my left..which gets really weird on vert...and scary...still whipping around while looking down at the transition...
Ur doing a decent job
Great tips!
You are doing more than a decent job!
Genuinely appreciate that 💜
I really want one of those hoodies but that's £22 shipping to the UK. Do you have any distributors over here? 👀
I always used to get set up from the rear pegs, so I could get my pedals in position. As I crossover and footjam, just push the frame around from the rear peg instead of the pedals.
I was a flatland fan as a teenager. I do this by having left foot front peg, right foot back peg ( left side of bike ).. start the whip by tapping front brake and kicking out with my right foot. When the bike is at half rotation left foot still front left peg, right foot now front right peg... as frame comes around hop back onto pedals. I could never really get the foot jam technique down. Your whip looks smooth
thanks this helped a lot ngl
What gyro kit are you using?
YES!🔥🔥 finally landed it myself in my latest video! So stocked...been one of my absolute dreamtricks for so long....I wanna take that opportunity for kinda lighting the spark to really commit to trying the footjam whip! Thx Alf🤙🏻🍻
Proud of you my dude 💜
@@AlfredoMancuso thanks mate!
N0
i like your frame a bunch what brand is it ?
How to Tuesday is back thank Alf
Glad you’re here to watch :)
Used to practice this when i was a kid but never mastered it. Going to try it 2024 😆
Whattup bro! Glad to see u back
Sup Paul (or do you go by Jonathan?)
@@AlfredoMancuso i go by Paul :)
Got you!!
Thanks for the in depth video alf, gonna have to get on this one soon
Legit gets me stoked for you guys to learn this one!
Alfredo Mancuso I tried learning this one years ago and couldn’t get it. Your video is way more in depth than how I tried before so I’ll be dialed soon!
Yessss this helped so muchhh!!!!!
I’m hyped!!
Love the dunks, you should do a review on em
ua-cam.com/video/XvfnPRwH9JY/v-deo.html :)
@@AlfredoMancuso thx
I tried to learn them on my own and I never had to jump off the cranks, that seems like it would make the trick soo much harder to balance.
It is, but if you don’t learn them this way then you can’t do them on quarter pipes
Mad skillz! And very helpful
Thanks David 🙏🏻
I have started working on this. I can get my foot on and the bike swinging almost around WITH the cranks in the right position, I taught myself the backfoot kick to straighten the cranks... But I have not started to jump onto the bike yet, as I do not have shin guards, and I feel that is needed for this otherwise I am just too scared to let the bike come around
Searched for this video so i can thank you i landed it today finally
Yassss!! Love to hear that!
the only thing is im having trouble whiping the bike fully around i can only get it half way
Damn... I have watched quite a hand full of videos concerning this trick and I've finally discovered my error! I have been doing it "wrong" just like you which made me have problems with catching the cranks since they would not be in a suitable position!
So I'm thankful that you made this video, I really didn't understand what I was doing wrong but know I got it! Thanks! 🔥
PS: Is it just me or do you spin your cranks dang fast at 7:47?? Hahaha
Stoked I could help you out! And yea, I kick those puppies!! Tag me in a video on Instagram once you have them down!
before i get into the habit, since i've already started, is it worth learning the "wrong" way with the cranks heading up and down instead of leveled? my point is i didn't know you need to nollie and i can't really do that, so i'd have to learn it first
You can start any way that you find comfortable then adjust later
@@AlfredoMancuso thanks, i guess i might keep trying then. I've tried nollies today and it was really rough. I guess a heavy 15kg dirt bike doesn't help, especially that I'm short. Not saying it's impossible, but a proper bike could help with getting height even with poor technique.
I'd like to try a bmx, feels like it would suit me more, but pretty much every friend of mine says, i would probably regret it, because they aren't comfortable to ride, but I don't feel i would notice much of a "downgrade" idk
been trying this trick for ages but made same mistake of lifting my leg over first, gotta dial the nolly in now i guess , cheers for the tips pal 👍
Let me know if it works for you, and when it does, send me the clip!
I have learned smaller bars make tricks like this a lot easier so I put my 8 inch Fu bars back on and now I’m getting closer
Very true! Narrow bars help whipping the bike around, as well as barspins and if you’re adventurous, tricks that involve placing your foot over the bars
The subtle "oh fuck" at 8:24 killed me xD
Sea yea new video...😄😄😄😄
You're doing a decent job
I like decent!
thank you
you're doing a decent job
Hwwweeeffff 😅
Fantastic 😍
Nice!!
Foot jam tale wip no hander ??
can't tell you how many times my old football/soccer pads saved my shins
I'm so close, I get the bike to come around but I can't get back on without putting foot down or tipping over. Also the bike comes around so slow, maybe I need to use my arms to whip it more.
Honestly if you were to get shin guards or knee pads you’d be more confident and would most likely just hop on the pedals without tapping your foot
Yeah I'm going to get a pair of shin pads. Also, I think I'm cheating by using the front brake. I notice you don't have a front brake. I'm getting the back wheel up by hitting my front brake first.
Ооо, то что нужно!) 🔥🔥🔥
++, пытаюсь выучить👍
thank you!
Can you please do a how to half cab on a cassette?
Got you Juan!
thanks man
My pleasure
Im your fan👌😍
💜🙏🏻
Shout out to next vid pleaseee😞😊
yo i’m mad early
My dude!!
What kind of bike do you have? I need a new one that will preferably not blow the chain off while I’m zooming down the road and get caught in the tire and throw me over the handlebars lol
I ride for Subrosa Brand, and I’m currently riding the Mark Burnett Griffin frame with all Shadow conspiracy parts! If you visit ONSOMESHIT.com we have a few Subrosas on sale!
Alfredo Mancuso thank you so much I’ll definitely look into that. I’m 5’10 what size bike would fit me best
Ty
Interesting. I’m right foot rearward, but would jam my right foot on the right side of the frame. with my left foot at 6:00 i would fling the bike to a clockwise whip and then just had to catch the 6:00 pedal with my left foot just as the frame arrives to knock my right foot off the tire. Then the right foot comes over the frame back to the pedal. No hopping of any sort. Trouble was flinging the bike around clockwise with my left foot at 6:00. Not sure I could do it now with my bad left knee, and even back in the day traction on the pedal was often my failure point, cus I had to keep downward pressure on the pedal, which was the opposite of lifting the tail up. Never quite managed to hook my left toe on the frame to fling it around. I quit shortly after that, but am getting back into bmx and plan to relearn it. Perhaps I’ll try it your way this time around.
Which are the easyest trick for you?
I need to try this 😮
I've been trying to master this trick for 3 or 4 years I do it off the pegs it allows me to set the pedals so im not worried about the 6 and 12 positions people say its too old school of a way but im almost 40 I can't afford to break my leg trying to hop over the top bar
Do not, I repeat, do not break your leg! Whatever feels comfortable for you is what you need to keep doing! Just gotta tweak your technique a little more to master it
Try not jumping just jam your foot and kick up
I ride right foot forward but foot jam with my left have you got any tips 🙏🏼
Might recommend trying to re learn it with your left foot or you can try switching your feet?
@@AlfredoMancuso thanks I will try that
🤛🏽🤛🏽
Man I'm 50 years old and I was just checking out your video I used to do that trick nobody told me I had to teach myself the way I did it was a jammed my toe in first like you do then when I kicked it around I stand on the front wheel both feet then I manage to put my leg on the pedal and go weird but it works there was no UA-cam Back Then you just have to figure it out and do it
Thanks ima try that tomorrow I'm the worst out off my group of us and I'd like too atleast show off once
I watched this video and then realized my dad used to ride so he showed me but this video helps
I learn it
I learned it the cheat way on accident and now I’m going to try to learn these
yes
✊🏼
I hop but my front foot does not jam the front wheel pls help
Gotta jam your foot in there a little harder
Need more of us Italian Americans bmx’ing 🤙🏼
Alf gang
My brotha! ✊🏼
Im goofy. Should I try and switch to regular.
Whichever way feels more comfortable for you 🤘🏼
next can you teach us how to flip whip on flat?
Only if you volunteer to do the demonstration while I explain
@@AlfredoMancuso big bet!
It's really help me to do a footjam whip
That’s what I’m talking bout!
When Jay Miron was an instructor at Woodward he wouldn’t allow his group to ride goofy footed lol.
Metatarsal guards and chainsaw chaps baby
Did my first one
havnt been on a BMX for over 25 years, I cant still do it, tried it 3 days ago
That’s rad to hear!!
