Hi chhewee have you become a flat earther yet? If not I suggest watch a 13 part series called _What on earth happened_ by Ewaranon to learn that the earth is not a globe. I got it in my about tab.
For us people down in the south with no basement and no access to foundation joists I think we have to look in attic to find out which is bearing wall. So on a one story house how do we know by looking in attic which is bearing wall?
Hello from Ohio if it was my place then I wouldn't worry about the led paint I would just take it outside so the mess wouldn't be on the inside and I would just strip all the paint off and then finished it however I wanted it the heck with this license crap and just do it myself
@@nathancawley6944 You can buy mounting brackets for PEX that screw on easily. Some plumbers will stick to their own method but it is perfectly fine to just PEX it all the way
No mention of the point load of the beam. You can’t just add a post at the ends of the beam and call it good. Make sure that load carries down to a footing that is capable of supporting the load.
Yeah, like any homeowner DIYer is gonna suit up in hazmat gear for 'lead paint'. The stuff came outta the ground...grind it off and let it fly - back to earth!🤣
18:00 if Tommy actually built that himself, I am an Astronaut and have been on the moon. These folks are millionaires, they aren’t sitting down and building a tiny mock up of a house. Not that Tommy can’t build that.
Unless you have a 5 year old licking the radiator while you're working on it, complete over reaction. Lead takes years to build up in the body, a simple mask is fine, but then how could they charge you the 1000's,for the 'lead paint removal' fee.
It really depends on local codes. Some areas don't require any precautions as long as the work space is under a certain square footage. Also it takes a tiny amount of lead to poison someone.
This channel will always do things that are recommended by code. They aren't going to risk a liability on their hands because some DIY'er made a mistake or did something they shouldn't have done. Don't blame them for giving the appropriate advice even if it is overkill.
Professional work requires EPA lead-paint certification. It's not a question of whether it's reasonable or not. It's required in a professional setting. As for a homeowner doing it, that's up to them. Lead paint is a real risk. Had a friend whose home had lead paint. Windows and such had paint in ill repair. Kids developed high levels of lead in less than a year. Dangerously so. The treatment is arduous and the effects of lead poisoning are devastating, especially to kids. So roll the dice if you like. But mocking adhering to the law is just ignorant.

Replace the old radiator with Slantfin baseboard. I did it to my income property in Queens NY. A 4 unit building. Instead of a tiny 70 year old radiator the rooms have wall to wall baseboard. Non toxic and heats the apartments faster and more efficiently. Materials cost nothing. The labor cost 3000 for all 4 units

Such a fantastic job Richard did in solving that guys plumbing problem in an elegant way with minimal intrusion.
That plumber was awesome! Such a smart and kind man.
That plumber is my hero
Hi, Tom did an awesome job explaining that bearing wall to Kevin, very educational and interesting, Ty, Bob,
Richard wonderful job like always. All the guys do a great job.
Would the radiator paint also work for baseboard heaters?
I love watching toh.
very professional crew. 👍

$3000.00 was right on the money for that valve replacement

It's all about the money James, more Government money...
FYI zero VOC paint doesn't mean it's not harmful to humans, only the environment because the standard is set by the EPA.
I have used wire wheels, cones and flapper wheels to get to bare metal on the radiator covers
Cutting fiberglass without a mask lol
The work Richard did was definitely valued over 3 grand lol. At least they got to make a video on it.
why did you use copper when the rest of the plumbing was PEX?.
For rigidity. Do you want your shower valve flopping inside the wall? The copper pipes allow for easy bracing.
@@nathancawley6944 You can buy mounting brackets for PEX that screw on easily. Some plumbers will stick to their own method but it is perfectly fine to just PEX it all the way
Why did you not use PEX instead of copper?
Hazmat suits...really?!
Nice hole ya left in the top right corner of that rad cover.
There was a giant hole already when he got there.

I'd have just used a liquid paint remover to bare metal to make it look new and lead free.

Nice job! But could’ve add a drywall patch after it’s done.
better to put a removable panel for future plumbing service... Like the cabinet!

Young kids and a bright white couch?!?!? 😮
All that lead safety work is going to be moot if a Cessna flies overhead.
Taking off that unit and messing around with all that plumbing is a 3k job.

Big waste of time 'prepping' the radiators for paint. I mean, if you're gonna do it, do it completely.
