Well done and great list! I also love the Sega CD. It is one of the systems that got me back into retro gaming after I was a bonehead and sold my original system and games to "upgrade" to the next newer console. There are so many great games for the system and you already mentioned a lot of my favorite games as well. I really love Soul Star. That game was a tour de force on the system and showed how powerful a system it was and I think Jurassic Park does not get enough love. Earthworm Jim Special Edition and Batman Returns also deserve a mention. Keep up the great work!
You popped me with the World Wildlife joke. That was one of the dumbest lawsuits ever, and I can't believe they won it. My list is (naturally since it's my own preferences) of course a little different, but I surprisingly overlap a good deal on this one. I also have a soft spot for Panic!. It's fun in spite of the basically absent gameplay. I haven't given it a lot of thought, but my list probably looks like: Popful Mail Android Assault Robo Aleste Lunar Lunar 2 Silpheed Road Avenger Flink Revengers of Vengeance Mansion of Hidden Souls The Sega CD is a system that doesn't have a ton of great games, but the ones that are are really outstanding. There are also some great games that I just associate with other systems more, like Lords of Thunder or Night Striker. I've never owned Keio Flying Squadron, though I'm sure it's great, and I never did buy Snatcher, as it just didn't resonate with me at the time, and Rise of the Dragon had already filled that void for me. I wish I had bought them when they were cheap, though. Sonic CD I have, but I just am not a Sonic fan. I'm the weird one there I guess... I have pretty much all of the classic Sonic games, but the only Sonic I like was the first Sonic Adventure on Dreamcast.
I never looked at the sales numbers, but I didn’t consider it a failure (at least not like the 32x). I loved mine when I was younger. I avoided most of the FMV games. The RPGs and Genesis upgrades were all fantastic.
It would have been cool to integrate the 32x enhancement into the sega cd hardware - One of the reason I couldn't buy it was that in the magazines (no internet at this time) the photos looked very similar to the genesis and there was not many games at the launch (one of the issue I believe was that it wasn't the easiest machine to program games on) .....My fav games are Final fight and Terminator CD Also Sonic CD is a good one...
No honorable mention list this time? I was hoping Rock'n Roll Racing would make that list at least. There's nothing like the start of the bass beat to "Radar Love" just before the chaos begins!!
I remember thinking the Sega CD would be huge and despite not having a Genesis myself, I was looking forward to its release because I knew I'd get to play it because of my friends. In the end, only one of my friends bought it and I don't think he chose his CD games well. I don't remember what he had other than Tomcat Alley, but I do know apart from the novelty of it, I wasn't that impressed. I'm not saying the system wasn't good, I just wish I could send this video back to 1993 to help him pick out better games.
I can't wait to get my Sega Genesis Mini 2 with Shining Force CD on it! Thankfully, my fiancee is a diehard gamer like me that plays just as much as I do. So when I put in 30-40-50 hours in she won't care one bit. Hell, right now she's playing Triangle Strategy and I can't tell you how many hours she's sunk into that game.
Happy to NOT see Sonic on this list. I don't know why Sonic CD gets so much praise; I personally find the level design to be a chaotic mess. Oh, and the existence of Final Fight alone makes this system worth owning.
My own list: 1 - Snatcher, 2 - Dark Wizard, 3 - Shining Force CD, 4 - Lunar EB, 5 - Lunar SS, 6 - Sonic CD, 7 - Keio Flying Squadron, 8 - Terminator, 9 - Popful Mail, 10 - Silpheed......every one of these was an A+ exclusive at the time, so unless you were a gamer with over $500 to spend on sega CD software in a 2.5 year span I don't get how this was such a horrible system. There were another 20-30 games easily worth buying before we even get into the crap games.
@@SecondOpinionGames1 I always marvel at who people who didn't play it would bash it. Everybody who had one loved it. It has about 50 unique great games, our lists don't even overlap much but your list is all great games too.
Mortal Kombat CD. Arcade music, stereo sound, blood without the code, FMV intro and Shang Tsung slowdowns at transormations were really fun😍
I wanted to play that version so bad for so long that when I got it. It was not a good time 😕
One of the most genuinely fun retro gaming channels out there. Congrats and thanks for posting such great videos!
Wow thanks 🙏😃
Good video! Nice Top Ten Sega CD games! I always liked Road Avenger! Fun type game! Can't go wrong with the Macho Man Randy Savage! Nice!
Thanks 🙏

I almost put flink on the list but that cyborg 009 game needs more play. As for the WWF that still pisses me off 🤬
Great video man!!!!Keep it up!!!Loving your content.
Thanks 🙏 I really like this video to bad it’s not getting the views. Please feel free to share it any way you can.
Great job! Thanks for all of your videos.
Thanks 🙏 this one was very fun to make. Of course that means less views 😕
Great video! Sonic CD is actually really fun
I’m a sonic 2 guy all the way.
I love the premise of panic, tempted to get the ps2 one.
It’s just a chill game 😃
Great list. I would like to check out Shining Force CD someday.
Have you played Dune?
I have it’s just not for me. But I know people who think it’s one of the best games ever.
1 Sonic CD
2 Shining Force CD
3 Mad Dog McRee
4 Road Rash CD
5 Night Trap
6 Road Avenger
7 Dragon's Lair
8 Sewer Shark
9 Earnest Evans

Some will be on the list. But no snatcher or sonic 💿😳
Exactly what I needed 🙂 even though I knew few some I didn't, very helpful. Great video mate
That’s what I’m here for 😃
Love the fact you touched on this system bro
Yes the Sega 💿 is very underrated 😃🙏
I never looked at the sales numbers, but I didn’t consider it a failure (at least not like the 32x). I loved mine when I was younger. I avoided most of the FMV games. The RPGs and Genesis upgrades were all fantastic.
While technically an add-on, my fave gaming experience growing up and of all-time!
So good. I like the system more then the Genesis 😀
damnn awesome channel, subbed
I’m going for a one man screw attack feel. 😃. Thanks 🙏.

I am now going to get that mickey mouse game. Thanks. I suggest you try the Sonic Mega Mix ROM hack for Sega CD. It is really well done.
🙏thanks I’ll look into it.

Don’t worry I’m going to da a list of the viewer top ten based on the comments 😃
Honorable mentions should go to both Lunar games (Silver Star and Eternal Blue), Vay, and Eternal Champions: Challenge from the Dark Side
"Ooooohhh Yyyeeeeaahh!"
- Macho Man Randy Savage -
Dig it 😃

That is one bad game.

😂 🙏
1:47 That's just a reskin of Super Wrestlemania on the Genesis.
No Lord's of Thunder?
Crap I forgot.
I thought the legendary armor of Vay was one of the best games that came out on sega cd
I did like vay 😃🙏
Happy to NOT see Sonic on this list. I don't know why Sonic CD gets so much praise; I personally find the level design to be a chaotic mess. Oh, and the existence of Final Fight alone makes this system worth owning.
Sounds about right to me. I got the JVCx eye version of Sega cd so the load time good 👍
Lords of thunder bro.
I forgot about it 😳
this video should be 60fps
I thought I did 🤔
