I plan to build two small sleds - one for mitre and another for exact cross cuts. Both will extend some what to the right of the blade to stabilize the offcut. Thought this would simplify box-making. I think one-purpose dedicated jigs afford more accuracy.
I just made on of these. you will have to extend the back fence on both sides so that it doesnt leave a little piece stuck on either ur cut off piece or ur work piece.
Should make it extend in both directions by about 2 inches passed the cut so it's a zero clearance cut and prevents tear out. But, other than that, great job.
I think you should have spent more effort making sure the back rail was exactly at 90 degrees to the cut line. I'll bet if you did the five cut test you would find it's not as accurate as you think it is.
Unfortunately, being hearing impaired, I could only view the video and read some of the closed captions. I have a Kobalt job site saw approximately the size of your saw. Can you tell me the dimensions of the sled base. You have done an excellent video. Many thanks!
Is your saw a Bosch ? I have the GTS 1031 and I see a lot of similarities and I'm curious if it is and your thoughts on how it performs. I finally imbedded mine into my work table and I'm quite pleased with the vast improvement and how much easier to cut longer boards and the extra space I now have !
The length is about 250mm, and the width depends on the distance between the blade and the miter slot on both sides. Basically you build the sled slightly larger and then trim it right onto the table saw
I hate this table saw. Not only the left and right slots are not the same size, each slot even have different width on each ends... this effectively makes it impossible for me to make a slider that won't bind or wiggle. Stupid BOSCH should have milled rather than incorporates it into the casting mold.
That's bad. Any chance you can contact customer support and get it sorted out? My saw is very accurate (more than I expected from a job site saw, anyway)
@@DariointheWorkshop Bosch support is bad here, I don't think anyone in local office would understand why such a thing is crucial. Table saw itself isn't popular among hobbyist here. I'm planning to replace it with Harvey cabinet saw, will import it direct from China.
This sled may be all I need. Thx 4 sharing!
This is the best small sled that seemed so far, I'm going to build one too. Thank you
Glad you got inspiration from mine!
My thoughts exactly. Simple, accurate and cheap as chips.

Was about to build a small sled, too. Will make one like yours. Very nicely done. Thank you.
Love the idea. 1) It's small, 2) it's an easy 45 degree sled, and 3) it works for 90 degree cuts, too!
Thank you for prompt reply. I am underway with this now.
Great idea. I will be making one of these soon. Thanks
Calidad.

Thank you, I’m a beginner so verbally explaining what you are doing and why would be really helpful! Excellent otherwise
Yeah I'd love to, but time is limited for now :-)

Excellent idea 4 rails. I'd add routed n t-tracks 4 clamps of course.
Nice minimalistic shed! Thanks for sharing Dario!
I like it small and compact perfect
Nice!!!... I will try to make one of this to me...thank you for sharing
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Glad you found it useful!
Thanks for sharing. Will be making one soon.
Simple and deadly accurate!...I will build this!
Great video!
Thank you Dario, very helpful !👍
Glad you liked it!
@@DariointheWorkshop Yeah man, I just started out woodworking (at the age of 60) ;) I learn so much from these videos. Great!
It's never too late!

Outstanding
This neat. Thanks

The sled is about 40x25 cm
Nice and simple!

Bravo! Complimenti. 👍👍👏👏
What tiny planer are you using here?
This is so clever! Thank-you for sharing! May I ask what brand of the little square it is that you are using?
Thanks for the kind words Suz!
The square brand is Helios-Preisser off of Amazon. It's inexpensive but very accurate and sturdy.
Dario in the Workshop Thanks Dario! I will sub and watch your other videos too :)
Nailed it So much contrast with all that over engineered sled vids around that req 25k$ of pro tools to build 😄
If you wanted to cut other angles, would you have to make a separate sled for each angle?
Probably
Dario, Thanks so much. I want to make one now for small mitered boxes. Please what dimension in the sled? Length and width.

La mia aveva la lama non parallela agli slot, ma è normale. Il manuale spiega come regolarla e ora fa dei tagli perfetti, con la giusta lama.

Well if you can replace with a cabinet saw, you win 😀
