@S124434 exactly! I agree with that 100%! I just don't think its fair when people do something horrible and try to use the "we all make mistakes" as an excuse, cause there is a difference with being like "I killed someone but we all make mistakes so I shouldn't go to prison" and "I killed someone, we all make mistakes, but im still going to go to prison to try and make me a better person" :D

the cake question made me lol. when my bf was in prison i was staying with his grandma who had alzheimer's. every day she'd ask me if i was gonna take him a milkshake and a burger. apparently you used to be able to do that, at least at the little town lockups. his grandpa used to get locked up now and again and she would take him food. i just always told her yes of course i was.

I have had gentlemen acquaintances who are/were prison guards. I have heard a number of stories about life in prison. The one that surprised me the most was in relation to the heaviness you spoke of, one of the guards would routinely throw up as he entered the prison gates. So, that feeling of heaviness, oppression, and malevolence extended to some of the guards and wasn’t limited to inmates! I understood that it was more just being in the presence of concentrated evil built up over decades. I’m NOT talking about the inmates but a lingering concentrated malevolent presence in the place.

When I arrived at the interrogation area, I pulled him to the side and asked what was up - with his strange behavior ? He told me that he had very limited experience being in vehicles , especially vehicles going fast and driving in and around people.
I asked him how long had he been in jail , he said a little over 40 years. I asked what was his original crime ; Train robbery 😂😂😂 !! I tell everyone that story

I just found your channel, and I don't know you but just want to say I'm so, so, so proud of you. I hit two years clean in January and I've been fortunate enough to have circumstances that allowed me to get thru it all without ever going to jail or prison and it was STILL so hard to come back from. I can only imagine the struggle of my brothers and sisters that had circumstances like yours. You're truly a hero, and we do stan a sober queen.

Don't ever use again, prison is what saved my life and I did the same amount of time in Florida as you did 5 years 09-13 April 8th was my release date. You have shown the world that prison can change you but it takes you as a person to make the necessary changes in order to stay on the right path. Your vids remind me of my past and it's good for me to never forget what I went through. Good job and keep your head up.

I would love to see you do a reaction to other countries prison system and give your thoughts on how you think they are better for inmates or not and if you would like to see some of their policies here. I am thinking Finland specifically as I had a family member imprisoned there and it seems worlds away from the usa experience. Would be interesting to see other countries too but Finland especially. Love your channel, have family who have been incarcerated and glad you give a voice about it.

I liked that question "Are prisons haunted".. Actually, that energy you feel is typically what you feel on an active investigation. We have several abandaoned prisons in this country and you know how many of them were covered by paranormal investigators? A very large chunk of them. Every single time they could into a prison.. That energy is heavy and sometimes full of emotion that they can't even walk two feet without being effected. That energy does effect everyone differently, but its still there. That's all ghost hunting really is.. feeling different energies and using energy sensing equipment (which you can buy from real investigators) to find enomalies in the area. Soo, short answer. Yes, prisons are haunted.

As a former CO at the prison I worked at all chomos lived in special housing units for their own protection.
Also prisoners could lay on their bunk all day as long as they made their bed on time.
That said props to getting things in your life in order

I had an Aunt who was in prison in California. I asked her if I could send her some things and she told me that she was allowed one box per month, so if I sent her a box, then it would prevent her husband from sending her a box that month. So, if I sent her something, I actually needed to give it to her husband to send it. Also, when I visited her, I was not allowed to wear jeans. Their uniform was jeans and a white t-shirt. They don’t want visitors wearing the same thing as prisoners. When I visited we got to sit outside at a picnic table. Her job was to help fight wildfires.

Very interesting. And good for you in recovery👏🏼👏🏼I think the cake thing comes from cartoons and movies from the 30's, 40's and 50's where a friend would smuggle a metal file in a cake to a prisoner to cut thru the bars. I saw this as a kid.

The old Missouri State penitentiary is hella haunted. You can feel it the second you walk onto the property. It's the worst when you walk into the the gas chambers and over by the electric chairs. You can feel the hate and the heaviness on your chest. The amount of relief you feel when you get off the property is a feeling that I can't even begin to describe.

Jess I've never been to prison, and don't plan to go, but I think it's depressing for some people, and some people just do whatever they can to try, and make the best out of their situation, and they find something to do to keep them busy to take their mind off of it.

  • @xassylax

The best description for the smell of jail, in my opinion, is depression. When I was in jail, the entire facility smelled like depression to me. Before then, if you would have asked me what depression smelled like, I couldn’t have answered. But now, I definitely see depression and jail as having the same smell.

I KNOW IT SOUNDS A BIT HARSH LOL TO TAKE MY DAUGHTER OFF HER SCHEDULE, BUT MOM'S (& DAD'S) NEED ALONE TIME! AND THIS IS THE ONLY "MOM TIME" I GET SO I REALLY TRY TO ENJOY IT LOL! 😁

To be fair, I do know people who have used their jail/ prison experiences as a tool to change mindsets and behaviors, but in all of those cases it's come from within. It can be a part of the "rock bottom" that finally motivates some people to make a needed change.
