absolutely! Spot on, and there are indeed a lot of recent bands inspired by Classic Afrobeat/Highlife producing amazing stuff nowadays, such as Newen Afrobeat, Afro Social Club, Ojibo Afrobeat, Albinoid Afrobeat Orchestra, etc. The future of excellent music is no doubt in good hands. Cheers from Uruguay
That transition between Dide O and Age of Ascent is masterful. I just want to be wrapped up in it. I can't believe the pandemic ruined my chance to catch you all in Los Angeles two or three years ago. Nevertheless, I am grateful ya'll are still creating!

So excited for them finally trickling shows into US. I learned how to play this on drums. But what I really learned was how INSANE Ayo Salawu is in drums. What a BEAST!!!
There was a young man playing guitar on Kokoroko "Colonial Mentality"/Sofar, London who played this WONDERFUL solo. I've not seem him again. I wish he would come back. He looked about sixteen but the solo was so musical it showed a maturity way beyond his years. Where'd he go?
...Trane? I'd go with Fela + Tony Allen on this one. Best thing about this band (besides their obviously stonking music) is they are 'real people'. Totally relatable Londoners.
This is why i LOVE youtube rabbit holes, Someone suggested one of the sisters in the band-since she was playing with Nubya Garcia on her Tiny Desk (bomb set as well!). Mentioned this group. Love the work :) gorgeous women!
Very tasteful, my the true art forum of music continue to live on. As a musician sometimes it feels like real music has died, but hearing these talented musicians I’m appreciative ❤❤❤
It's a breath of fresh air see and hear actual musicians actually singing and playing actual musical instruments!!!!💯😍💕❤👍💖 Need a break from that artificially generated noise!!
Kokoroko shows the world that the future of "excellent" music is in very good hands.
Ikrr
Not sure about that... They're the exception, but I hope they start a new trend... :)
