Thanks for your video trust me to time I buy the valve and I return it back to the dealer because I didn’t know how to put it but after I see your video it’s piece of cake thanks man I will do my truck tomorrow🙏🙏👍👍
If you put a new kit on it should have come with new ones. Once installed use screwdriver and push hard onto the snap ring to be sure it seats in the groove.
My purge valve is consistently blowing air. Its not stopping but my air stays up when I'm driving but drops to 100lbs when sitting. Is a purge valve my problem?
Want to just be easier to buy another air dryer I tried that before my international had no luck I was down there for about hours trying to get that ring out
did everything and every time I started the truck the whole thing would come off again I put the O-ring the metal one really good it’s in but when I started the truck the whole kit it come off again
Guess your right! Because I'm working on one now 2019 Volvo D13. Air dryer took a dump. Having issues with locating other parts. I work for Estes Trucking and these trucks are the the worst!
@@4jiggaalways i believe truck manufacturers arent loyal to one manufacturer of parts. Its whatever is cheaper is what gets put on them. Being that new and already having issues. Sucks. Unfortunately dealer for parts.
@n8pruts 602 thanks I've just purchased a volvo , thought this was a major issue but you restored my confidence and channeled my inner mechanics to get job done thanks again👍🏾
Why don t you replace the whole unit? much easier and you may have to replace the canister/filter soon anyway,it amounts to or close to whole unit's price, that s what shops recommend anyway.
Doing mine tomorrow. Filter/ canister/ cartridge is 62 bucks. Entire rebuild kit is 146. Brand new complete unit is 675. Shops are taught to upsell. Add labor into those prices if you're unable to do it yourself. Only time a whole unit replacement is worth it is if you're not able to do a full rebuild yourself. Or it gets damaged in an accident. Otherwise it's about an hour to do yourself
@@yeseniareyes6506 I learned my lesson well, I tried doing the rebuilding kit,it didn t quite work,so I ended buying a new unit. ever since then,I buy a whole unit every 4 yrs,30 minutes or so to replace it,my friend at my dealer lets me have it at cost (375.00).so to me replacing meal piece is a waste of time.
@@yeseniareyes6506 IF and IF I went this way...if I didn t have a friend at the dealer ,the purge valve for my unti is $130.00,the filter is $150.00,& in my unit the governor is attached to the dryer unit, the governor is $50.00. for me and only for me,it wouldn t make sense to buy a kit. The normal price of my air dryer is $525.00. To each his own,not that I don t know how,it just doesn t make $ense.
@@yeseniareyes6506My whole air dryer on my Volvo cost about 350.00 most likely I'm going to buy the whole unit and take it as a loss then it's way easier to repair the trying to get that old ring out
You made that look easy. Compressing that assembly while installing that snap ring is a pain in the butt!
Hi Sir,
I can't thank you enough.
It took me three tries( all my fault) but I got it done after watching your video.
Thank you for being our trial run. With the video and the screenshot of the parts explosion.
I had the same problem I Watch your video and I fix it bro was very helpful
Thank you bro ❤

Had the same problem and your video was very helpful. Thank you!
About a 24" stick of wood jammed against the ground will hold the spring compression while installing the snap ring
Great job. Thank you
If your stuck on the road you can bypass the system
Thanks for sharing this
Those shims are wear washers. One goes on each side of spring
Do these snap rings go bad ? I replaced and started the truck
And the assembly keeps pop off under pressure

Trying to do that job now, for the life of me I can't get the snap ring in.
Wow perfect

Sounds like a rubber seal has come apart on the purge valve.
@@nj8pruts the rubber on the outside is intact. I hope its something small internally. About to pull up to shop
Should just need the kit i used.

It would’ve been helpful if he responded to this issue
I hope I can get that job done in 12 minutes.
Thank you so much 👍
Thank you

Everything for Volvo is so complicated
That is a Meritor not an Original Volvo D13 air dryer!
In my 2012 volvo this is what came on the truck from factory. Im sure some trucks have different brands.
