the UI on this is truly beautiful, like any empty end output the shape that is being produced or is on the conveyer is flashing slightly enlarged to help you see whats going on, the north point indicator for the shape design, they really made this very user friendly.
I'm so glad the demo is finally here for us! I can't wait for the full release. Shapez is such a great entry point into automation games for people who've never played the genre. No survival elements, no build time or construction cost, just pure automation! Excellent concept and execution!
You've been misleaded by shapez 1, now the first cutter allow the contraption of the two block cutter with trash hole after one of the exits, thus allowing for more compact designs
You probably didn’t realise this when the video was made, but you can also launch objects from the second level, so each initial side of the vortex (and platforms) has 8 slots each.
Played a few hours last night (and devoured Shapez 1 back in the day). I love the look and feel they've got going, and the performance so far has been really good. VERY excited!
I got Shapez 1 free on Epic games. Played it a lot, and then it led me to Factorio, and subsequently, your channel. So this is pretty cool. I'm definitely interested in this sequel.
I saw you playing on the steam store page and was so offended that it wasn't on UA-cam... And here it is. I managed to play the demo for 15 hours before running out of optimization ideas. The full release is gonna be world ending.
for blueprints, initially I found the L shape is a red herring. If you simply chop the shield shape (that you are already making from the previous goal) in half with the new cutter, then stack it with a half circle, you can easily convert what you have already built to do 3/4 of the blueprint for you.
I knew that I could count on you Nilaus! Finally somebody that deletes old lines and starts on new shapes. The mess that other youtubers leave behind is almost embarrassing.
I really enjoy building zero waste designs. The flexibility of the conveyor elevators make for some really interesting and compact designs. I do wish the controls for moving between floors was a single button toggle, I assume the devs are leaving room to have more than two floors. I'm sure you'll notice this, but you can take a belt and make it go 180, opposite, by switching floors. Meaning you can run a belt off of one side of a cutter by going up and back, then over the cutter and have the rotators on top of eachother. This makes it super easy to have all the belts in line for a stacker that doesn't go outside of a two wide footprint.
shapez 1 was already great (I ended my playthrough by making a universal shape maker that solved the rest of the game) and shapez 2 already looks amazing too. Had that thing wishlisted since I finished the first one. I hope the performance will hold for very large factories since that was a slight problem in the end of shapez 1
Awesome Video. You did everything so much faster and more efficient than me 😂 . Can't wait for the Full Release! The Controls and how smooth everything is in this Game amazes me!
You're the first player of this demo version that I've seen work with the throughput of each part of the system to maintain optimum production levels, and you even put some parts of the buildings on the second level, which I've not seen anyone else do. Great stuff. I download the demo on my own PC but haven't been able to play with it as I've got a pinched nerve in my groin that has been giving me very sore nerve pain in my thigh that gets worse when I sit down.
I absolutely loved the original and I'm so psyched for the sequel. Everything I like about the original with a bunch of new features that add just the right amount of complexity and efficiency. Any clues as to when it might be ready?
In my opinion, this is not a factory game, but an entertaining logic puzzle. But very entertaining) And the goal of the game is to solve a Rubik's cube, only in a different way.
No, it is essentially the same as a factory game. The only real differences are that the concept is abstracted. For instance, in a typical factory game you might have to mine ores which you smelt into metals and then combine with other materials in different ways to make various other materials and parts. In Shapez, you mine two main things dyes/paints and shapes. You then perform operations such as cutting, rotating, stacking, painting, etc to combine into different shapes. These are exactly the same, the only difference is instead of mechanical and chemical reactions to process materials, you are using simple operations like rotation to operate on shapes and colors. And, to an extent, all factory games are puzzle games if you decide to optimize everything yourself rather than use other people's designs and blueprints. Ultimately, these types of games distill to the same basic concept, animated functional diagrams/block diagrams. In engineering you use block diagrams to represent various things from computer logic, electrical circuits, fluid flows, etc. If you look at a product called Simulink or any Circuit simulator, you have essentially the same thing. You are using set blocks to change certain base objects, flows, or things into other things using different operations.
has he... this dev... I see what he's doing...have you ever played blueprint tycoon? I's a management game where you build a logistic factory. yo don't use belts, but each building has it's functionality which you can also optimize and change. I can see in this game youbuild "islands" as a mega transfomation unit then you send the things trough the "islands"; This is amazing.
my problem with this game is that there is no point keeping up with the old production. Like there is no point in holding onto the original build to maintain it. It's basically destroy it all after you are done.
I don't like games like that. I understand they are reducing all the fluff around automatization, but that - for me - takes away a lot of fun. Dyson sphere have elements where you can just take a break from the optimization, get your mind somewhere else, here is all the time same stuff. Sure this will be liked by some, but it is way too much of an excel formulas to my liking.
Nah, dont like it. I tried Shapez 1. It was too abstract and more puzzle solving than factory building. I think factory games need some sort of lore or world to be in. Shapez 2 is looking way prettier though.

"It's a goddamn city block." They will never leave us!
This game will probably finally condition me to build city blocks in Factorio like I should've been doing
OMg please do more of this. I wanna see how far you can take it, and what kind of insane blueprints you come up with.
The Demo blew me away, now I can’t wait for the full release! So polished.
I'm so glad the demo is finally here for us! I can't wait for the full release. Shapez is such a great entry point into automation games for people who've never played the genre. No survival elements, no build time or construction cost, just pure automation! Excellent concept and execution!

Yup and the trash cutter is faster too.
I have seen a couple other youtubers play this and I have been WAITING for Nilaus to play it!
Yessssss, been following the development of this for about a year! super excited for this!
I loved the first shapez so much , and have been following the development of shapez 2, can't wait to play it!
Cant wait to see the shape my MAM is going to take in this game.
This new game is just too good and perfect!! I'm so hype to buy it!!😊😊 You gonna make such a good series about this
31:14 "It's god damn city blocks!"
I beta-tested the first Shapez, and holy cow did the sequel get a glow-up! I'd love to see what you come up with for this!
Awesome!
When is purchase on steam you think?
holy cow thats out of this world
The freaking sound track goes so hard.
You probably didn’t realise this when the video was made, but you can also launch objects from the second level, so each initial side of the vortex (and platforms) has 8 slots each.
This would be a great series.
Played a few hours last night (and devoured Shapez 1 back in the day).

This channel is worth it just to hear the joy in Nilaus's voice when he gets a new factory game.
I saw you playing on the steam store page and was so offended that it wasn't on UA-cam... And here it is.
I managed to play the demo for 15 hours before running out of optimization ideas. The full release is gonna be world ending.
Oh man I've wanted to see this game for a while. Thanks for the awesome demo review!!
yes... yes you should be playing this! this looks AMAZING!
Would love to watch more of this game!
How many days after release until the first MAM (Make Anything Machine) builds? 1? 3?
This really scratches my problem solving itch. I cannot wait for this.
best one i've seen of Shapez2, now i want it!
Please more of this game. Its is great to Look at and you always know whats going on
One thing I like about this new version is if a shape is no longer required it tells you with the red X at the vortex
You know you care about a game when you pause an excellent video like this and play it for yourself!
Wow I didn´t imagine they could make a game like this look so good. It seems they improved their game on every level.
I think its made from 1 person only
for blueprints, initially I found the L shape is a red herring. That’s for the stacked platforms speed 2? With the “little” red square on bottom left of the objective figure?
More of this game please!
Love to see more of this!
@Nilaus - pls pls pls do. I love the game as a supporter, and love your approach to these types of games as well! Pure win-win :)
I knew that I could count on you Nilaus! Finally somebody that deletes old lines and starts on new shapes. The mess that other youtubers leave behind is almost embarrassing.
Oh this looks fun, shapez was fun but this looks more complex and working with the 3d element it makes it more fun
this looks something right up your alley
I can see city's blocks everywhere
The game looks absolutely gorgeous.
i enjoy the first one quite a bit. I've been waiting forever for this come out.
Such a cool game! This was made for Nilaus!
This looks fantastic.
absolutely hyped for this
Had a go at the demo of this myself. I think it is going to be a fantastic game.

Cu=Circle part (usual)
Cr=Circle part (red)
Cg=Circle part (green)
Cb=Circle part (blue) Same with squares
U doesn't mean usual, it stands for uncoloured, and the r means rectangle (effectively square, but S means star so couldn't be used twice).
It looks very, very--and I mean VERY--promising! ☝😺

this looks like a nice game to introduce new players to factory games
but if the rotation of the shape doesnt matter why there is compass in the bottik left to show north and also the shape orianted to north ?
Cutters always cut shapes along north/south.
It’s a goddamn city block! XDDDDDD
you could see the struggle not to say it . They are city blocks Nilaus :)
it looks like they learned perfectly from the first game, all the annoying things are fixed plus the graphics are beautiful
What a neat little game.
I absolutely loved the original and I'm so psyched for the sequel. Everything I like about the original with a bunch of new features that add just the right amount of complexity and efficiency. Any clues as to when it might be ready?
the steam page says 2024, and one of the things said the early access version proabably wouldnt be ready before september
I'm sure you know by now, but Early Access opens August 15th.
@@withjoe1880 Thx!
What is the end goal of this to make like a 3d printer type device?
In my opinion, this is not a factory game, but an entertaining logic puzzle. But very entertaining)

More please
That must be how Riftborn from Endless Space are made

I want to play this game
Hope it will be better optimized than the 2d version.
With Shapez I created an environment with 4 auto-assemblers (can do everything except floating tiles). Lags a lot... On a Very beefy PC. 😅
aaaaaand wishlisted.
👍🏻
2:20 Oh, T junctions are so easy??? DSP really makes it a hassle
I played Shapez to death with multipel different MAMs (Make Anything Machines), and it looks like Shapez 2 will be no different.
Reminds me a little of SpaceChem…
I thought it was just 3d update to shapez 1, nonononono its soooo much better
my problem with this game is that there is no point keeping up with the old production. Like there is no point in holding onto the original build to maintain it. It's basically destroy it all after you are done.
Cool game, and it runs on OSX. Wish I had the money to buy it.
I thought this game didn't have a pipette because it's not q
i hope it doesn't have the same performance issues the original one had, this game called for super masive builds that lagged my pc to oblivion
I don't like games like that. I understand they are reducing all the fluff around automatization, but that - for me - takes away a lot of fun. 10 minutes in, what's going on? What is the purpose of this?
moooar
This game is coding in 3D😂
I dont like it. Factory game needs story
@freerobux49 u false

Definitely want to see more of this game.
