Tamara expressed gratitude in her own way at least 4 times in this video, she is a wordy person and that's ok. What she is doing is huge, working with youth is no easy task and so many are unwilling to invest their time in helping them and those that need therapy. Bless you, thank you for giving back at the van build and congrats on your new career Tamara! And thank you Jamie, for helping others!

One year ago I moved from the city to a cabin on 5 acres and started living off grid. No electricity, no municipal water. I collect rain water off my metal roof and have great filtration plus my Berkey water system. I raise chickens, bees, fruit and veggies all organic. I feel 120% better for doing this. I truly believe municipal water and electromagnetic exposure negatively impacted my health. Living in a bus or van is much the same as how I am living now. It has to be healthier for you than living in a apartment, condo or conventional house with microwaves and floridated, chemical saturated water surging through our bodies. Hope more folks seek the truth about staying healthy and happy. : ) ♡

I'm trapped in my apartment! I wish I could afford a tiny house on wheels so that I could get out of the rental market and live a healthier happy life with like minded people. I went to a tiny house festival in Georgia hoping to find a builder that would work with me but it was so crowded and they just didn't have the time to talk to me. After spending so much money getting there I left and went home broken. I am now in a financial bind and trying to recover. My goal is to still get out of this rental market since they charge me 40.00 each month for my rescue kitties and raised my rent again! I'm going to habitat for humanity to see if they have any advice for me. Jamie your such an angel for helping others. God Bless You!

Watching all the magic come together for her bus was awesome and we love getting updates. It is no surprise that her bus holds special energy it was built with so much love!! She didn't know why she deserved it at the time, but all of us who were watching knew she would continue on and do go things in her new home and were happy to see it all unfold. She is working her dharma for sure.

    • @next20yrs
      @next20yrs 5 років тому +1

Marieline and all those who aspire to this life - you can research all you want but you won't know until you try it. I spent 5 years watching YT videos, reading forums, even going to the RTR years ago (when it was a small gathering) in my car before I finally jumped ship. I bought an awesome older Pleasure-Way, refurbished it like I wanted, put in a great solar system....sold my house and bam, I was off. It took me about 2 months to realize I could not be happy living in a van. I actually made the decision while at the van build this month. I just knew it wasn't for me once I got out there. Ya, I lost money when I sold my van last week and ya, I did sell my house (but I wanted to sell it anyway) but I don't regret it at all. I learned a lot about myself and got the vanlife thing out of my system. The point is: You only see the good side and it's true - a lot of ppl love the life. But I suspect there are a lot like me who didn't dig it but you won't see or hear much about that. Go for it, but with eyes wide open. It's not as wonderful as it looks and it won't necessarily make you instantly happy.

This is such an awesome video of hope & encouragement towards those that need a little push to live the way they really need to. AS you say, whether it be a house, RV, van or whatever. We all need to find our souls. I took on a job as an RV Park manager to save money to get out on...then a vintage Silver Streak fell into my lap, so I am working on renovating it. I do live in a small ClassC motorhome & actually have a van as well. I have thought about just setting the van up as a camper van...but really, this job tethers me more than I like. It has it's stresses, which I really don't put into my videos as I don't feel it's appropriate to do so. And it's disrespectful to do so as well. I am hoping that by next year, I can cut the cord & be free! I did follow through the build of Tamras build, it was such fun watching as it all came together. And now we get to know her a little. Jamie, you and everyone that contributes ROCKS!!

Wonderful!! I agree with everything Tamra said about Jamie and the life style. I have a hard time being indoors in one place as well, especially since I have been traveling for over a year and a half. I will be needing a small skoolie next year. I see no other options to provide shelter and transportation, living on disability and having a quality life, less stressful life. I hope I can find people to help me when I save enough for a bus. The Element is getting too small. Cheers!

Hi! Happy to elaborate! Adolescents and young adults in crisis, be it substances, technology, anger, depression, anxiety, trauma, eating disorders, self-harm, Etc, are sent into the wilderness for 6-12 weeks, living very simply, nomadic with everything on their back, in a group of guides and peers and the results are miraculous in terms of healing, recovery, confidence, self-discovery and restored relationships.
It changed my life in 2006 and I am lucky to be able to help facilitate that experience for others!

One of the most amazing and positive vids, this is one for the archives!!! Great to see you Tamara and know what you're up to and looking forward to! Of all that you do, I am still amazed that you survived whooping cough!!! You are an amazing, conscious, out spoken free spirit... this can be an intimidating thing to some people, so I hope those negative comments I see floating around don't affect you! Jamie... respect, gratitude, karma, good health... may these things continue to nourish you!!! In jest, I must say I laughed and agreed with one of the comments that said Jamie and Tamara should have a baby... that would be one awesome, well rounded human being!!! Just sayin'!

Haha! I have been SOOO baby hungry and I've got the space!
Thanks for the good vibes! It's been interesting to see that the detractors are rarely women and the supportive comments are often from women. I love to see that old stereotype exposed and proven wrong! Hope to meet you at one of these shindigs!

Hi Jamie. Was good to see Tamara again. I was hoping to get out there for my first trip but life happens. I almost died a yr ago Sept. Then my old car went out.in Dec. A friend donated a 2001 mustang to me in July. Then the battery went out in August, so around $150, another setback. I want out of here but now I have to buy a water heater when I can, no running water since August. I'm on SS and can't buy one now. I'm almost 70 and really believe I'll have a better life on the road. I get so overwhelmed here even thinking about a nursing home because I have no family. They'll have to drag me there screaming. I'll eat and exercise on the road, which I don't do here, too depressed. I'll be the old woman in a mustang with my cat lol. So glad the build went great. Maybe I can make it to the RTR. It's over 1300 miles so a little worried about going in a high mileage car but I will try. Ohhh, I messaged you on messenger about the land for sale out there because I watched a video of your talking about maybe buying some for meetups and builds. Wishing all a Happy Thanksgiving 🦃. Safe travels. TC 🌷

Alana, honey, I believe in having a dream, but also being realistic. It doesn't sound to me like there is much chance that you will be able to attain this dream. I hope that you will, however, strongly consider joining your local YMCA or YWCA which you almost certainly would qualify for free membership (I know in my area of the country you would), and also joining/going to activities at any local retiree/elder community day-center. I speak from experience that it will help your depression if you go to the Y or somewhere to get a little exercise a few times a week, (Plus I love being able to use the walk-in locker room showers & not having to step over my bathtub at home for a shower, & that I can take as long of a hot shower as I want!!!) Best wishes!!!

playhooky I'm not staying here. Been working on this too long and have a couple of ppl I'm going to meet up north after RTR. And, also made a friend from California who is disabled and already been to La posa and Quartzite. Sweetie, my mom was traveling into her 80s and we used to camp out. Can't wait to leave. Have appts next week and to the vet and then probably going to leave after that. Ty anyway, but I'll stick to planet fitness. TC 🌷

I meant to ask, if you don't mind answering, what kind of gas mileage do you get with the short bus? I have been debating what's the best most economical way to get on the road. I'm 71 and seeing the country has always been on my bucket list, I feel like if I don't do it now, it will be too late. Thanks for the hours of entertainment you and all the nomads have given me.

Just a surreal video for launching day, after 19 months of planning I am out of here. The first couple years of my event were very special before it blew up into thousands & thousands. It may be a decade later but I know right where you are Jamie, you're doing great.

Jamie you are AWESOME to do this for others! Is there anyway to help Two Meander (Debra Dickson and Robert Witham) get into something like this. They both have disabilities (TBI) and are trying to make it (now together helping each other to stay out of assisted living) in an obviously overcrowded van? Bless you for any consideration and many, many thanks for all you do for others!!

Hey Jamie! I’ve been watching you and your videos on bus conversions/helping people for a while now! First off I have to say what you do is awesome! I’ve been looking to do a bus conversion for the past fifteen years and it’s always great to see people with experience and knowledge help others! On that note I was wondering if you could send me some advice and knowledge on getting help and assistance for people in a tough spot? I’m at a bit of a standstill as far as life and a living situation goes due to illness and a bus conversion would solve the majority of my complications currently. Any help, ideas, and networking would be incredibly appreciated! Thanks and hopefully talk to you soon!

Enigmatic Nomadics yes I saw that video! What an awesome price that is! I’m currently in the go fund me phase of this process since I lost my job due to being sick. Once I get that on a roll or as soon as one of these work from home positions works out I will definitely be going to that website! Thank you for the response!
