My '05 Baja turbo was doing a simular thing. It was.surging while driving between 2500 and 3000 RPMs and would sometimes make the automatic transmission shift down and right back up. It went on for weeks while I threw parts at it starting with a throttle position sensor. Sometimes it would stop doing it and I would think that i had fixed it. Then it would come back. I was getting frustrated and was running out of ideas. It still had the original fuel pump so I decided to change it. The filter sock in the tank had 18 years of debris on it. I cleaned the tank out while I was at it. I was really relieved when the surging stopped. I don't know if the pump was getting weak or the crap in the tank was blocking the pick up. Intermittent problems are.the worst.
Hello there, Good information, thank you for the time to do it, let me comment on the issue that I have with my Forester 2014 N/A, the Symptom is hesitation between 1,300>2000 RPM, I have other Forester XT 2015 (w/o problems) I changed the Fuel pump each other thinking that the fuel regulator, pump, the filter has the problem, results: issue continue in Forester 2014, Do you have some idea apart of this that can I check? I appreciate your support Pete, Regards from Nuevo Leon Mexico
Yep I'm having these issues right now and my mind was on the fp reg ... and it's leaking a tiny bit.. they said it was ok. Not so sure now. Still renewing parts on this awesome machine
Ok, so what really fixed my issue after all was MAF sensor. I cleaned it many time and all, but I still had small hesitation issue even after fuel pressure regulator, once I replace that MAF, everything came alive, car was like all new car, response was magical and all. SO if you have over 100K and have not replaced MAF, please do.
@@Pete717 did cleaning it help a little ? Was it setting off your check engine light ? (Maf) I’m having the same hesitation from 1-3 rpm. Under load only. It’s completely fine when just revving
@@Bang_n_slang New new MAF sensor. Dont pay arm and the leg to local dealer, search part number up on google, you will find another subaru dealer selling one for allot less shipped. Dont get aftermarket Autozone one ether. That will fix your issue
My fully built 06 WRX does this "" (and no codes) but feels almost like it's def a fueling issue.. 2500 too 3200 it will hesitate/stumble almost like a misfire but ecu reads no misfires I will be upgrading my FPR too adjustable FPR soon and try your fix...Also can you show a log of what fuel tables your Tuner changed & what duty does he have injectors set at now?
My issue finally went away after I replaced MAF sensor, cleaning did not help, but once I replaced it, absolutely everything went away and year lated I have not had one issue.

I have an 03 wrx. Starts fine. Drives no problems for about 5 to 10 minutes then if i turn right the engine starts running on 3 cylinders bank 2 stops working. Ive changed the maff both 02 crank sensor spark plugs coils im lost. Please help
@@Bang_n_slang yes sir I did! So you need the cobb fuel stumble kit but I got the radium fixed fuel pressure fuel regulator. Then go get a pro tune . It fixes The problem 100%
List can be very long of what it can be, you smoking under load or idling? loosing oil? coolant? Highly recommend to do compression test, how many miles? tuned? Engine configurations. Start with compression test, inspect sparkplugs.
Is there a way to fix it without tuning? I've seen few videos addressing this issue and they all tackled the Fuel pressure regulator which needs to be tuned.
Have a 21 sti, did an oil change today and scanned for any issues, no issues. But when i drove it i noticed the throttle response was off. I almost stalled taking a right, the usual amount of force i put on the pedal seemed like it wasnt enough and had to put maybe like 25% to rev match. It threw me off. When im in 2 or 3 it hesitates to accelerate. But once im accelerating its fine and runs perfect. I read up on some forums and seen that it could just be the car if regulating itself? I did add about almost a quart more because the dipstick was showing it was low... what a headache. Any solutions ?
If you cleared any codes when you scanned it, it probably forgot it's idle settings and will just have to relearn them by itself. It will do it if you disconnect the battery too.
@aaronsearch1189 thanks for the feedback brotha, but turns out it was just heatsoaked. It was 109 that day and it had been idling for like 15 mins before I drove it (:
Hey man. Im having an issue with my 2005 wrx not going past 4k rpm. I checked spark plugs, fuses, goes into gear no problem and it doesnt go past 4k. No blown headgasket. Only aftermarket is an oil pan and its at 180k miles. Any idea?? Healthy oil, no check engine. Only thing I have is a busted radiator but I dont think that'd be a problem (dont worry, im not driving it, im actually in process soon) .
@@Pete717 so I read forums (which is a speculation). It may just be in limp mode and may have something wrong with the ECU, so I will start with using an accessport, which you mentioned, and see if I get codes. Hopefully this is that case. I was teaching a friend to drive manual. They stalled 3-4 times and crashed into a light post going 5-10 mph prior to this happening!!!

Hey man can you show the tables which your tuner changed the values in?
He said he changed duty cycle on the injectors so tables would be injectors duty I'm guessing he set it a tad higher ?

yes, factory set pressure is 44PSI at idle
