#DantesPeak
My favorite part of this movie is the suburban such a badass truck
Pierce Brosnan and Linda Hamilton is my favorite actor and actress from the movie Dante's Peak
This is such an underrated movie.
Not for me
I’ve loved this movie since it came out
@@Soundtracks92I saw it with a date on Valentine's Day of '97 of all times😂😂lol. It was on a Friday
I think people overuse that word every time they like something...but in this case, I think you're right. It got bad reviews but those of us who know better know it's one of the best disaster movies of the "second age of disaster movies".
I like how the volcano runs through a checklist of every eruption type in order: ash, lava, mudflows, volcanic bombs and finally a pyroclastic flow. This is a very thorough volcano.
It did its job.
It had a script and was going to follow it!
James Bond and Sarah Conner tackle a volcanic eruption. What more can you ask for
More scenes of the Suburban….
@@Wicked_RotF30too bad its gone
2 superheroes vs a volcano. The latter won out😂😂
What Do They Topic Disappointed
😅😅😅😅😅
I've seen this film. And it is a combination of horror, drama and edge of your seat action all in one.
And romance
Even Pierce Brosnan's calming Irish voice couldn't persuade everyone to please stay calm.
Dante’s peak is a movie my dad was one of the people who flew over Mount St. Helens when it erupted
there were multiple eruptions over time. its why most of the people were not there and the stubborn were
Imagine being the poor gentleman who almost got his HEAD trampled on by people running out of the gymnasium. Ouch!!
Dr goes from "remain calm to...fuck,get out of the way of my big SUV,peasants!!!!...in a minute and a half.
Small town people are supposed to be nice. Until a volcano explodes then everyone acts like a New Yorker.
I don't see them going into flooded subways like the New Yorkers were thinking the subway trains were still going to work.
Small town people are often bigoted asshoIes.
Oh wow, the 90's.
This movies is Fire! love it!
I love dante's peak
2:37 I hope that little girl and her kitten made it out safely:( I hate seeing little children and their pets being caught up in these disasters.
Someone said its most likely she died from the earthquakes thats shaking the town
@@Lucariocypher2006 Poor kid.
Atleast she didn't die in the pyroclastic flow@@jaykoblue172
You and me both......
Honestly, she is outside so her chances of surviving the earthquakes are ok as long as her parents got to her
While Harry is telling the people not to panic, Rachel just looks mad like "don't even bother, they aint listening at this point"
As Harry keeps urging everyone to "remain calm", he might have added one of my favorite comments from the camp public address system on "M*A*S*H": "Your cooperation is requested, but not expected."
4:28 a ton of bricks land on the windshield and it doesn’t even crack. Her little screech is hilarious
you can see the crack clearly wtf are you talking about
The most amazing thing about this scene is that there's buildings collapsing, roads getting torn apart, power lines falling and all sorts of other mayhem.
And then there's the volcano which appears to be doing nothing except releasing a lot of smoke is actually causing all of this to happen.
Volcanoes tend to lie on fault lines and eruptions can cause or are caused by earth tremors. Mount St. Helens, for example, her eruption was triggered when an earthquake destabilised the north face of the mountain and it collapsed.
@@samalvey8168My late cousin, Sammie, was living in Vancouver, Washington at the time of the May, 1980 eruption, Mr. Alvey. She could feel the tremors to a slighter degree
@@samalvey8168 Pretty sure thats wrong. Earthquakes don't trigger Volcanic eruptions, but Volcanic Eruptions can cause earthquakes, no fault lines needed. In fact, quakes are often a sign of a dormant volcano building toward an eruption, though they're caused by the movement of magma and NOT tectonic movement.
@@yoshitotemthey can when magma starts rising because its breaks away the rocks in vent as its pusing upwards. Think of it like a worm trying get up to the surface it has to move away the dirt. But for volcanoes it causes earthquakes as the magma breaks the rocks
@@yoshitotem most Volcanoes lie on Fault lines, only certain exceptions like Hawaii which are created by Magma breaching a thin section of crust, would have nothing to do with fault lines.
And there IS evidence of Earthquakes triggering Volcanoes, in fact the two are so closely linked that it actually becomes a Chicken and Egg scenario.
Of course, I will grant you, the Volcano DOES have to be at least ACTIVE rather than dormant, for the Earthquake to trigger it. Active means either a constant state of eruption, OR, there’s lava and pressure buildup just beneath the surface, but can’t escape due to a blockage. Then comes the Earthquake which destabilises the blockage, and just like a champagne bottle, the cork comes FLYING out, only the cork is several hundred tons (MINIMUM) of material that was trapped inside the volcano, disintegrated and pulverised, before being thrown hundreds if not thousands of feet into the atmosphere.
Also, if you’ve ever popped a champagne bottle, you’ll know that the bottle tends to try and fly out of your hand, thanks to the force of air and liquid escaping the top. Now picture a bottle the size of a mountain and jammed halfway into the ground, and you have yourself a Volcano.
So yes, if an Earthquake DOES cause the cork to pop, that means it will then get amplified by the Volcano itself causing another one, Double Whammy baby.
Pierce Brosnan j'aurais voulu lui ressembler: un acteur de grand talent et un physique exceptionnel!!!!!!

When you're about to find yourself in a replay of Mt. Pele Martinique 1902...
Them: The coolest vehicle Peirce Brosnan drove on screen was a silver Aston Martin
Me, an intellectual: actually it was a 1987 Suburban with a lift kit and a snorkel
Nah, the coolest was the T-55 tank.
3:10 and 4:03 SAME blue Chrysler with broken right backlight=?😄
R.I.P the car and the truck that drowned in the lava up at the grandmother house tho
(And rip the grandmother too, true hero)
I love that truck.

FYI alot of this movie was shot in Wallace, ID. The volcano and the destruction was CGI but everything else is can still be seen.
Most was actually miniature work. Very little CGI in this movie. There is some, but very very little. All destruction is done with miniatures. Watch the behind the scenes for a breakdown on how they did it. Its pretty amazing.
@@liquiddreamscapes They knocked down a few buildings (both real and production-built) using hydraulic rams.
Don’t mess around with volcanos
She wants to leave, but stays.
I wouldn't be at any meeting I'd be gone already
Right and it is a underrated movie I liked it and I thought it was good
The stunts in this movie are almost like the ones Pierce brosnan does in James Bond. Except now James Bond is with Sarah Connorn.👍😎
0:33 i would be going with him before s**t hits the fan
Put. The. Town. On. Alert.

Lmao you Built a Town around a Volcano. Whos idea was that?? 😂
Many towns were built around active/ dorment/ potential, volcanoes. But most of those towns were started before the technology got advanced enough to identify the real dangers in volcanic activity in mountains.
Then naturally, people move in bit by bit, being ignorant of that knowledge. Before you know it, a town is progressively formed.
有完整版嗎?
Was just watching United States of Tara and they recycled footage from this movie to say a earthquake in Japan happened.
Kings Dominion brought me here
Could someone tell me the model of this off-road car and I know it's a stupid question
