I learn the Macro photography with this gem.i regret deeply for it fell down many times from my kids and became damaged.why why nikon discontinued this type of swivel design.they must relaunch this design.
This was my first digital camera, cost £600. I have found they last about ten years, I am just on my third, the zoom toggles go. Good news is they are now cheap to buy as you say. I have a 256 MB memory now and you can buy better Lithium-ion batteries 7.4V 1300Ah 9.6Wh compared to the old 7.4V 750Ah 5.55Wh for around £10. I also bought a wide angle lense very cheaply. They are good cameras as you say for macro photography of insects, with the swivel design you can get in close in the field. The lense being small will fit in a binocular eyepiece or a telescope.
Do you know if one can shoot longer videos with a larger memory card? Or is the 35 seconds built in? I actually have two of these cameras. One bought new in 2002. I dropped it and bought a second one on eBay for back up while the first one was in the shop. I love it!
No, the limit is set by the camera. I've never tried to put a massive card in the camera, but most of these older cameras will not work with large cards.
Used mine for Astro there was a dedicated screw in eyepiece for the scope I also have the fisheye.I don’t have laptops anymore can you connect the card to the iPad .when I connected it direct it blew the electronics the electronic shutter cable conked out pretty quick too
HI - just wondering if you were able to pair the Nikon Coolpix 4500 to a computer monitor? And if yes, How? I've tried with an AV-HDMI converter but it does not seem to recognize the camera
I've never encountered a stuck battery in one of these, but... Open the battery flap and you'll see that the battery has a logy groove in the back which guides it into place. Try a sharp point, such as a compass needle and reach as far into the camers as possible with the point. Apply pressure to the battery and try to lever the battery out. The question of course, is why it's stuck in the first place. The correct battery is quite loose in the camera, so if it's the right battery, the terminal may have corroded together!
I have a 4500 and love it it really is a unique tool.
It certainly is.
A great camera that took really good photos for the cost point. Mine still works, I use it in the shop now for macros and such.
It's certainly good for macro. :)

It certainly is a good, if a bit strange, design.
I was lucky to find it for just 5€ in an auction! I have it in my car ready to shoot if needed.
Good price!

Ouch! I've got to say that I know nothing about ipads, so I'm afraid I can't help.
do you know how to fix the flash button? it says “speedlight is in closed position”
You should be able to lift the flash manually.

I would have thought this was extremely unlikely, but if you get it to work, please tell me.
hi. do you have any advice for getting out a battery which is stuck?

You should not be sticking them there, 😂

I'm afraid you can't with this model.

No. It doesn't have a mirror.
