I got the 52 inch and the 80 inch. i really like both. had them for about 3 years now, i use them daily in an industrial setting. no complaints so far.
@@imbrandon16 any of the 16/18~20 gauge is 👍🏾 on the other hand I would stay away from the 24 gauge and thinner Toolboxes... Anything 22 gauge or higher in all honesty id just skip, but with proper substructural bracings a 22 gauge could work out fairly well
I cant believe though the 56" didn't have the magnetic strip in the hutch! And the locking mechanism does look to be more rugged on the 52"... I do like the flush mount plugins in the 52" hutch also too because it doesn't take up any space like the long power strip on the 56" has... However flush mounted on the backside would be BEST since the cords being plugged in on the side get in the way when you go to put other tools you've used away (with them in the back THE PLUGS & THE CORD ITSELF DONT GET IN THE WAY! So you'll HAVE TO EITHER USE ZIP TIES WITH A MAGNETIC CORD/LINE HOLDER TO HELP RE-ROUTE THE CORDS TIGHTLY BUTTED UP ALONGSIDE THE SIDES, although the plug-in 🔌 itself will still protrude out which will STILL TAKE UP SPACE AND POSSIBLY GET IN THE WAY OF PUTTING TOOLS AWAY THAT ARE PLACED CLOSER TO THE SIDES... A Right angled plug-in will be the solution here) Honestly Husky should just make the 56" design alongside the bottom in the back of the TOP HUTCH, but just FLUSH MOUNTED and it will SOLVE EVERYTHING! EFFICIENTLY AND CONVENIENTLY!!! Lastly I like that the Trim goes all the way up the sides of the 52" (and if they are just double sided taped, then just buy the same bolts as used on the 56" and tape them in, use a rivnut and countersink if you even have to and the trim will NEVER fall off then!) Thanks for sharing this!
I made the mistake of buying that sane toolbox. It does not matter what it looks like if the build quality is lacking. It would have taken me two seconds to realise how poor of quality the box has been made. Every drawer is mounted to the sildes with tiny rivots. Over time the rivots will bend and fail. The perforated box design are so much better. I had my tool box for about a year when i had all sorts of problems.
I haven't had any problems with it yet. I'm sure a matco or snapon box would be better quality but I thought it was pretty good for a home improvement store box.
i use mine every day for 3 years, bro i got enough shit in my box, if i open the bottom two drawers and the middle long drawer, shit gets sketchy like it's gonna flip forward, my shit is loaded down, and none of my shit is falling apart.
1st thanks for sharing your Toolbox adventures. What I get for My buck means alot to Me.! I looked at Kobalt, US General, Craftsman and Husky all for home use. I've spent time doing my homework finding what's best for me. For Christmas 2020 I'll be buying the Husky Model #H52CH6TR9HDV3 w/36795c.i. of storage and w/ LED lighting. I like the riveted drawer slides. The others come loose too hard to maintain. I'm hoping for a Black Friday Deal soon. HOWEVER... I personally would never accept a tool box that I had to fight with to get it to roll. Just my 02¢ Thanks again
Did you end up buying it ? If so do a review on it post a video I’d like to see it how it’s working out I’m doing a lot of homework myself right now before the Father’s Day sale go on to buy myself one
@@juliantapia4074 ...Howdy, yes I did. I got rid of 3 older Craftsman boxes and here we are 2 yrs later and I'm still pleased with it. My pov is the 52 was the perfect size and tbh I still have 2 of the smaller drawers with nothing really in them. I did get rid of seriously old screw-drivers, pliers and just junk. The drawers still slide easily without any type of lube... Oh and as for the LED light bar, I basically never turn it off and it still works just fine. Well, thanks for asking and PS not much for posting videos but I will say that if it was garbage I would tell you when it's definitely not. If you have the credit for it apply for the Home Depot credit card and you'll get extra money off the cost. Holla back if you get one. God bless and enjoy life
@@bigk3381 I’m currently working out of a Craftsman garage storage cabinet and I’m completely out of space i have tools on top of tools been needing a box and I heard this box goes for 799 when it’s on sale so I’m going to wait for the Father’s Day sale if it doesn’t then I’ll end up buying it at regular price just because I need the chest asap lol. Really want something that’s going to last at least 15 yrs for the price.
@@bigk3381 thank you For the reply I like to ask folks who have the box to get feedback about their purchase. I can’t believe I bought a storage cabinet for my tools had to build a bottom base with casters just to roll it around my garage
Thanks for the comment, at the time all that info was available online I didn't think I needed to go over every detail of the boxes and make the video longer. I'll take it into consideration if I do another box review.
The drawers on the smaller box look deeper then the larger box. Larger box looks like it has more shallow drawers.
Yea I personally rather have the drawers on the smaller box. Too many shallow drawers mean less flexibility for me.
I got the 52 inch and the 80 inch. i really like both. had them for about 3 years now, i use them daily in an industrial setting. no complaints so far.
If I remember the 80 inch was made with thinner metal and I wasn't sure how well it would hold up. I'm glad to hear that they are working for you.
@@KGsGarage yea I wanna say it’s made from 19 gauge. Seems sturdy enough though

Thanks for the review! Did you find any tools that were a pain to store with the shallower drawers? Would you make the same move to the 56" again?
I would do this box again. The problem with the shallow drawers is that tools in their cases dont fit.
The 56" is currently 40% more expensive than the 52". Seems like a huge price increase for 4" of width and a pair of casters.
This video was in March of 2020, I'm sure prices have changed since then.
@@KGsGarage Yes, I understand that.
thank you for the review. Please move the camera a little slower, the angle shifts too fast.
Thanks for the advise. I'm constantly working on my film skills

I've looked at the newer ones and they have made some design changes. i think the plugs are now recessed into the sides.
@@KGsGarage yeah i noticed that the trim issue seemed to be taking care of on the Husky 52" with toolchest displayed at Home Depot last week
weird... looks like the cheaper 52" is higher quality for less money, same brand. I'm going with the 52 inch.
IDK.. The thickness of the steel is the same.
Id like to know why you can only buy that 52" box in Canada and they're made in 20 gauge and not 18.
Call Home Depot
These are Home Depot boxes, btw. Husky is a Home Depot brand while Kobalt is the Lowes brand.
I know this and thought I changed it. Thank you for pointing this out. I changed it for sure this time.
The 56 seems to be lacking some great features the castors don’t even seem to want to work
The casters are lower quality but i don't plan on moving it much so it doesn't matter.
Damn I can’t believe the 56 doesn’t have the magnet back plate
strange huh?

What is your take on the Craftsman 54” vs the Husky 56”?
I looked at the craftsman but it had less drawers then this 56"
@@KGsGarage thanks!
Home depot will take them back?
Sure, if you return it in a timely matter.

Your wheels on the 56” must be screwed up… mine is very easy to push/pull, is quiet and doesn’t make that terrible sound as yours when moving.

They could be, but it's in it's spot now and won't be moving for many years.
dizzy
Dramamine might help
Why did you babble on about nothing. You should have shown the difference in the drawer depth & configuration between 15 & 23 drawers. 👎

Why do people buy nice shit just to make it messy?
I don't know. It could be lack of organizable skills or just too much crap.
