    What a mean old hearing destroyer. It's in really nice condition.

    I had a 76 twin a few months ago that was also pretty much dead stock! The only thing changed was a preamp out jack that was installed in 1980, there was a store tag w date on the jack. Loud as hell and clean for days!

    Seems like knowing all the ins and outs of what works and what doesn’t might lead to building your own amp.

      I build from time to time, and have a bunch of cool stuff in the works for the new year.
      But the repairs keep flooding in so I never have time to come up for air and work on cool projects, unfortunately.
      With the overheads of the shop it's a constant grind to keep the cash flow sustainable.

    Someone put a Super Six chassis in a Twin cabinet? That's the "keep it from falling over" mod.

      Ah, yes,…I have a Super Six Reverb too and it’s the tippy-est amp cab I’ve ever seen,…so much so I’m surprised Fender ever designed & produced it

    Only thing I would say is try not to have too many Part 1 videos active without Part 2s. I like the new presentations production values, but don't give up the live streams, live commentary is not the same. The live streams make Brad, BRAD! Looking forward to all three Part 2s. As always, excellent work. Take care!

      Think of this - we aren’t youtube channels with amps - we’re amp techs who make videos.
      The actual repair sets the schedule, much more than when a regular channel would plan things.

      Yes, I'm trying to be mindful of that, Jerry. It depends on how long the customer takes to respond to a quote, how long the parts take to turn up (often multiple months to Australia, and how long they take to pay a deposit on major restorations.
      Perhaps I should hold off on posting the inspection / diagnostic videos until all the videos are edited and in the bag.
      But I get too damned excited and want to share them as soon as I've completed the editing!

      Lyle, I have been a subscriber to both your channel and Brad's on UA-cam for many years. Brad's from close to the beginning. I have learned much from both channels (and many fine techs in U.S., U.K., Belgium, and Australia) to help with my own amp repairs and those of friends. My observation (not criticism) is that the casual viewer can become frustrated. As videos are not necessarily released in real time (waiting for parts can take weeks if not months as you well know). Releasing Part 1 and then waiting for parts to film and release Part 2 can have an effect on viewership. Releasing Part 1 when the parts are received (followed by Part 2 a week or 10 days later when the repair is completed) could be more effective in retaining viewership. Frankly Brad deserves many more views and subscribers than he receives, many, many more. Your insights and Brad's are invaluable to the amp building/repair community and I thank you both. BTW if there were a way to have Brad as a permanent sidekick on Technical Difficulties, an Ed McMahon to your Carson, you would both be unstoppable! Cheers!

      @@BradsGuitarGarageLike I said to Lyle perhaps release Part 1 when the parts are received, then Part 2 can be released a week or 10 days later so there there is continuity. I worry with 3 Part ones floating out there the casual viewer (who I know you care ZERO Fs about) won't return. I know you and Lyle are going for shorter multipart videos, which is fine, but anything more than a week or 10 days between Part 1 and Part 2 could be a frustrating. If the video is for the customer to approve repairs, perhaps there is a way to make it private until parts arrive? I think Lyle uses the videos for customer approval of repairs, but he most likely only waits a week for parts, as well as having local sources. So it's kind of moot for him as far as time between videos. BTW you and Lyle make great double act. A separate channel with you both as hosts could be be the ticket to FAME AND FORTUNE! Take care say hi to your dad ( another great double act)!!

      Thanks all. I usually don’t have huge gaps between “parts” of a series and there are almost always new vids in between.
      This week has been slowed because I’m waiting on deliveries for four amps.

    Love your videos! Do you have any thoughts on the quality of the handwired 64 Deluxe Reissue? Is the quality up to par or did Fender cut corners?

    • @BradsGuitarGarage
      @BradsGuitarGarage  10 місяців тому

      I'd save the money and just get a '65 reissue.
      The '64's seem to have worse quality hand-work for double the price.

    BRAD GUITAR, The output transformer impedance specs are made for six 10inch speakers, not for two 12 inch speakers so its going to be a major impedance mismatch and speaker AC output current issue?

    • @BradsGuitarGarage
      @BradsGuitarGarage  10 місяців тому +2

      The Super Six speaker wiring for 6 drivers adds up to a total of 5⅓Ω.
      The presented load with these two drivers will be either 4Ω or 16Ω depending if they're wired in series or parallel. Fender have a history of being a bit loose with impedance matching and that's not the end of the world.

    • @waynegram8907
      @waynegram8907 10 місяців тому

      @@BradsGuitarGarage The impedance is 5 1/3 ohms but the AC current is much Higher compared to a normal twin reverb speaker AC output current? The Super Six speaker output AC current is much higher because it has to drive six speakers not two speakers.

    • @BradsGuitarGarage
      @BradsGuitarGarage  10 місяців тому

      Impedance is resistance for AC signals. We're talking about the same thing.
