I own this exact guitar and same case. Bought new in 78.its part of my collection of 16 guitars .now44 yrs later it plays and sounds amazing. Thanks for posting. Btw it cost 3oo.back in the day..today it's a vintage classic.

I agree! I love the ST200. I found the active EQ worked well and sounded great. Really helps push the mids to the amp. I think they are worth much more than they originally cost now too. Still a great value in a vintage guitar. Thanks so much for your comment!

This guitar is quickly becoming my favorite due to the variety of sound styles and ease of playing. You can tell when you pick it up that it is a very well built and finished instrument. Another great review of an unusual guitar, thank you

It's a great guitar. It's very well made and versatile. It was a lot of fun to play for the video.

According to the Ibanez catalog for 1979 the nut is bone and brass combo.

was this a budget or a premium guitar back in the day?

It must have been a premium model from the way it's built and the features it has. set neck, special electronics with an active EQ circuit etc. They sell for $1200 and up these days if in good condition.

Almost looks like a Martin copy. Premium woods.

I've seen some of the Martin electric guitars and you're right, they are a little like this shape and wood wise. I also like the Ovation electrics they made for awhile even though they are a little unusual.
