- Contractors demolished the old tank on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, by cutting its base and pulling it down with a steel cable and other equipment in a vacant field behind CentraState Medical Center in the 900 block of West Main Street in Freehold Township.
Laid down like that, you could build a unique and sizeable house out of that thing, even burying it somewhat for a huge storm cellar. 😊
Beat the bank anyway you can.
I can't imagine the amount of damage it sustained. no structural integrity

A lot of people don’t know except if yo lived in Freehold Township in the 1960’s to the early 1970’s that this tower was originally behind the Freehold Shopping Center ( precursor to the Freehold Raceway Mall ) . It was taken down and relocated in 1970 to is current location behind the then called Freehold Area Hospital ( opened in 1971 ) . Its old concrete base can still be seen directly behind the Firestone Tire and Auto Center on the far end of the shopping center . It was originally painted a metallic blue color and then repainted to its current metallic green .

I have to ask.. Could that water tower be re-used?
I’m thinking corrosion and age plus the stress of being dropped make recycling the best use. A scrapper might reuse parts but nothing certified would be built from it.
It could've been reused before it was dropped, but the cost of disassembly, mobilization, and reassembly makes reusing cost-prohibitive.
