Hey I am Mike Wolff, I mixed/mastered this playthrough version of the song. Reading all those lovely comments almost brings tears to my eyes. Thank you all for watching/listening to this. Thank you all for enjoying the amazing drumming of Gee! And especially grateful for being able to work on this track :)
Is it only me that think that this version shows how Gee has improved his skills considerably over the years? He was great on the first video, but I believe this one is even better!
Ciao a tutti. Abbiamo grandissimi musicisti grandi mostri ma tutti fuori Italia perchè questo genere qui non piace molto. Comunque grande Band e grande Gee
I remember seeing him play this live in Birmingham Alabama a few years ago. I will never forget him pointing his drum stick at me and throwing it to me after this song. Still have it, one of my most treasures memories. Thanks dude, you are the best!
This guy is really good, he should audition to play with DragonForce Edit: I have successfully wooshed most people replying to this, thanks for your participation those of you who got the joke
This is freaking awesome. It's great to see a Man who loves playing his Drums always with so much joy, passion and a big smile... 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻 Gee is the perfect Drummer for DragonForce👍🏻
Ya know what's awesome to see?? That you still obviously have so much fun playing this song! Everything from the added accents, to the stick tricks and the singing along and smiling throughout... It all just screams that even though you have played this song hundreds of times, had a whole career defined by this one song, that there is still joy in it! So many bands and artists end up hating their most popular creations, it's nice to see someone still able to have fun with it!
Great performance. And I want to notice 2 things. 1. The control of the volume is great. Some drummers make loud hits on snare when play slow and when they get faster the volume goes down and you don't hear blast beats and fills. But here the drummer plays in the same dynamics and volume so you can hear all the fills and hits and nothing loses in a mix. 2. The strength of playing. The drummer doesn't hit very hard. And I think it is mostly becuase of the touring experience when you must save strenght to play the full show. So you must control power and speed not to get tired very soon. Great performance of the real master! Thank you for sharing this masterpiece with us!
This is almost hilariously nonchalant and I fucking love it. Dude makes this shit look absolutely effortless, enough that it makes me think I could do it without breaking both my ankles immediately
Gee Anzalone 10 years later: the story of a great drummer progressing to Epic level. The carefree way you do this, the variation you put in and most of all the fun you have while doing it is so fantastic to see and hear. The amount of work and dedication you put in to constantly hone your already impressive skills is truly amazing. The 'thing' about you was once the way you got into the band, but you've proven a long time ago your story goes way beyond that. Keep on doing what you do and bring an equally genuine smile to a lot of people's faces!!!!
And you know as a drummer when you've reached the pinnacle of "epic" is when you not only have signature drum sticks "Promark Drum Sticks: 5B Model Gee Anzalone DragonForce" like most other endorsed pros, but custom made signature "Czarcie Kopyto "‘Supreme’" Kick Drum Pedals - DragonForce Limited Edition" kick pedals!!!
You basically wrote my comment. He’s a beast. Everything is flawless and looks effortless.I can think of 1-10 drummers who could take lessons.Lars cough, cough.
The contrast between the old video and this one is so cool to watch. 10 years ago Gee looked not exactly tense but very eager to impress and now he just seems content and happy with what he achived so far. I wish Gee at least another 10 years and hopefully even more success and happyness!
It's really hard to watch this without smiling, Gee has a strong force of personality. (And an even stronger sense of timing and consistency, hot damn.)
This is super super super amazing!!!!! He sometimes hits the same phrase as he did ten years ago. Awesome double bass drum stability. The fill-in is also comfortable with the same sound And he keeps smiling with this difficult drum! Most humans are desperate and pull their faces.
I watched his reaction to Junna playing this song and he was extremely complimentary, I liked her version a lot but, OMG I had no idea how much better it could be done.
Love the smiles and the expressions you get while playing! It's absolutely contagious :) Here is a man who truly loves what he does. Who wouldn't want to go from covering a band to playing with them?! Rock on, my friend!
Amazing to hear the drums louder in the mix than you're used to. Theres some old videos here on youtube of previous drummer Dave playing solo at a drum clinic. Neat to compare the two artists playing.
I know this is old, but I watched Gee's Reaction to Junna a long time ago, and after watching this I understand what he meant when he kept saying how he loved the way Junna always smiled while playing. Here, I see Gee smiling his ass off like he still enjoys playing that song after playing it literally thousands of times. Nice to see!
Questi sono anni di sacrificio e studio, chiuso in una cantina s studiare...e come compagnia solo il profumo del legno dei tamburi (inconfondibile) e il tuo sudore...complimenti maestro
The dude just looks like he's having the fuckin' time of his life, like he's recording the song for the first time all over again, and there's nothing better to watch!
Impressive, this is of course the best Through the Fire and Flames "drum cover" 😊 !! May we ask Junna to react 😊😊, Gee said she was the second best after him.
This is probably my favourite cover, maybe even better then Junna's. Ya gotta love a drummer that smiles!! LOL Seriously though, for a song that is so fast and furious, you have the calmest drumming style I've ever seen. You make it look easy. Lastly, your reaction to Junna's cover is the best on UA-cam. I'd love to see more reactions by the actual artists to people who cover their songs, when they get the time, of course. Also, Herman's reaction to Tina S. covering this song is awesome too. If you ever get in touch with her, I hope you will encourage her to come back to us on UA-cam. We miss her. Lastly, please ask Herman to react to Tina S. covering Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata - 3rd Movement" (she is 17 years old in the video). He might be impressed; you never know. TeeHee
Ini orang makannya apa ya??? Main drum set dengan tempo cepat dan ngebut seperti itu namun pembawaannya sangat santai dan enjoy. Salut dan keren banget.
This guy is pretty good on drums. Should we hire him?
Yeah 🤘
perfection!
Nah, he use the swivel technique :D
You should hire Junna
Not bad but you should try to hire Nyango Star for the drums.
Hell Yeah🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
I love how relaxed he looks. He looks like he's having fun, not like he's straining. Lovely technique, great posture. Masterful.
Exactly my thoughts. He is fluid on the drum
I see the same thing too
he's been playing it ten years straight. why wonder?
Incredible sound and drumming holy smokes that was a real treat!!
Compared to Junna's cover, he's super chill! lol

Sounded awesome!
Drums sound sick!
Mike you did an amazing job
Sounds awesome, mate!
Never misses a note, never plays out of sync, this man is a machine
Yes Amazing drumer bro
Muscle memory, flawless technique, and *relaxed* A true master of his craft! Uttermost respect!
Most artists would hate their "big hit" song after a year. Dragonforce has been embracing TTFAF since I was in highschool.
It's like they have only one song to perform haha
so they should haha it’s a masterpiece
@@twikie258 One hit wonders tour all the time. And they play THE SONG at the end every time. If they played it first, people would just leave.
Well, it still slaps.
Through the Fire and Flames and Memes we carry on!
Is it only me that think that this version shows how Gee has improved his skills considerably over the years? He was great on the first video, but I believe this one is even better!
He makes it looks absolutely effortless now with his own flair.
I mean, after 10 years of playing this song he's got to be better right?
But yeah, an amazing drummer
@@matrug0078 actually, no. After 10 years, you can just get old. Specially at this level of drumming, you might not endure a lot
I think the espresso helped!
I love the fact that Gee is almost ALWAYS smiling in the videos he shares here or when he's streaming on twitch. 😁💖🤘
I love his Twitch channel! He is always smiling and greets everyone!
@@rhoneranger549 Yes, he does. I watch gees twitch. I just lurk.
...and not releasing a single sweat drop after 8 minutes of fire drumming 🔥
I'd be smiling the entire time I played drums too if I were that good
- Amazing Drummer (smiles while playing too!)
- Great Cooker
- Super cool and happy guy
Italy must be so damn proud of you.
Ciao a tutti.
Abbiamo grandissimi musicisti grandi mostri ma tutti fuori Italia perchè questo genere qui non piace molto.

And sings while playing double bass at 200bpm
I mean, I GUESS he's alright ;)
Nothing better than a drummer having fun playing drums. Just the happiest person at any show.
A prime example of a master Musician whos honed his skills over the years
Killer kit and spot on performance. I think he’s ready to ascent being the holy tambourine player in the band!
more cowbell!

@@erikknudsenmork4536 Thats Stevie T's gig
He wants to get hired a second time
When Gee drums he looks like one of those 1950's musical movie character gracefully walking and dancing in a park.
Saw him yesterday with Dragonforce...amazing. This energy is great. Thx a lot from Saarbrücken
I remember seeing him play this live in Birmingham Alabama a few years ago. I will never forget him pointing his drum stick at me and throwing it to me after this song. Still have it, one of my most treasures memories. Thanks dude, you are the best!
I live in Birmingham. They came here?
@@cerwin76 yup! About 3 years ago now. Wish I could see them again. I'd be first in line for a concert.

@@ninezerotwo1778
I mean,one has to catch it,right?
Gee was meant to be in dragonforce. He’s honestly the best thing to ever happen to that band after the original lineup 🤘🏻
Agreed, he is a beast 🔥
That was so sick
Oh god, the *dragon* herself is coming LMAO
5:49 I was already smiling so much through the whole song, but THIS made me smile so much more..!
Goosebumps man!
Same man!
I'm a Drummer myself and i was like how the f*ck did he so that ?!? I can't even do it two handed :( :DD
I swear Gee looks like he would make the perfect cup of coffee every single time and he would say the secret is love ❤

The flashback at the end to his original cover was an awesome touch.
I swear, there is nothing more wholesome than seeing how happy Gee is while he's killing it on the drums. Amazing job man.
I just love how this guy has a miror in front of his kit to watch himself play and he's pretending like its his crowd
It's amazing how this chef turns out to be pretty good on drums

The inventor of the Kick drum never even envisioned their instrument doing this.

He plays better than Mackintosh did, I think. He brings tastier fills to the original drum track of the song, IMO.
