You are more likely to become radicalized through Reddit, UA-cam, Twitter, etc., than playing videogames. I play games like PUBG all day long, to me it's just adults playing tag. But, I also use those platforms, and they really try to brainwash me into hating others.

This is lazy and misleading reporting. His first victim was his mother, his second and third a three year old girl and her father. The incident likely had more to do with a general breakdown of his mental health.

while I do think it should be seen as terrorism, but the amount of people isnt' really the defining factor but the intent. Terrorism is using violence to achieve political aims and goals - and the incels do apply.

Personally I think this guy just hated the world as much as he hated himself and snapped one moment and did something he wouldn’t have done with some reflection. Almost all suicides are unplanned. I don’t see why suicide plus murder is any different in this respect. He made videos and comments, he didn’t plan this, I don’t think he was spreading a message or fear itself deliberately, but just attacking everything before killing himself. Maybe the suicide seemed like the best idea after he’d gone and blasted a bunch of people, IDK.
In any case it’s unlikely to be terrorism. Muslim terrorists are enacting an actual religiously and politically motivated plan. I don’t think this guy was. Still a bad thing to do of course.

This man committed an unspeakable, unforgivable, inexcusable act. However, to blame it on a hatred of women is laughable. Watch his videos ffs. This an extremely frustrated, lonely, man who feels he’s been abandoned and forgotten by wider society. Someone who feels there’s no way out of his bad situation. Who feels the massive gap between the haves and the have nots. This is a wider societal problem. We see men (especially white) as a group who should just get on with it. When they try to express how they feel, they’re shut down and told they are privileged oppressors who benefit from the patriarchy. Yet suicides are 80% men and homeless are 75% men. during divorce, family court regularly leaves them with nothing in the way of reasonable access to their kids, while bleeding them dry financially. When a man falls, there are way less organisations to catch them on the way down than there are for women, who we tend to look after if they stumble in life. Woman have inequality with regards to some issues and men have inequality for different, no less valid issues, yet we ignore and ridicule the men who speak up for these issues. We are failing our young men, this is the extreme end of that failing, and to simply dismiss it by labelling him a woman hater, when he killed 2 men out of his 5 victims, is frankly irresponsible and disgusting from channel 4. They should be ashamed.
I think some of it has to do with western culture in general. I had a middle eastern friend that said middle eastern communities seem to be more tight nit, always watching out for each other. In the west it's all about being independent and looking out for yourself. I believe people in general need affection and love on a consistent basis to have good mental health.

You completely missed what he was trying to say. The labeling and judging is of incels is making this problem far worse. We should listen to what they have to say without immediately shutting them down. Censorship makes this problem far worse. What he did was wrong we all know that.
I suppose that I could have described myself as “involuntarily celibate” when I was younger, but I’ve never felt an urge to kill or hurt anyone. The main issue here seems to be that social media has unfortunately led to what would have been an individual problem or failing becoming a destructive movement. In the specific instance of the Plymouth killings another major factor is the incredible failures of the police in inexplicably returning a firearms licence to someone whose unsuitability to hold one was shouting from the rooftops.
Clearly young men like this have serious psychological issues which require help, but blaming their problems on other people is wrong. At one time they’d either have come to an accommodation with themselves (as I did, and have subsequently lived as happily as most), or taken their own lives. The latter course would have been tragic, but not the same order of tragedy as it becomes when a personal problem becomes a social-media-shared movement for destruction.

@mortalwombat I wouldn’t have joined such a movement had it existed at the time. I am not heterosexual, unlike (I understand), these individuals. I channeled my energies into campaigning for gay rights, blaming the situation at the time (1970’s) for my lack of relationships. Whilst constraints on gay people at the time didn’t help, I came to realise that the essential problem was with me, because many gay people I encountered were clearly too busy just getting on with relationships to have much time for campaigning. I realised that my issues were probably a question of personality type compounded by childhood traumas related to my parents’ divorce. Once I realised that, life became easier. And I didn’t develop a hatred for either of my parents, who also suffered.

And, of course, the police have to take that seriously. All of that is harder than you might think.

Most of our young generation are under too much pressure- no matter what ethnicity. Unemployment, homelessness, unclear and uncertain future and uncountable other difficulties are too much for the young. Mental health condition is a severe invisible problem that is frequently ignored by the authorities.
