The 747 will always be my favourite airliner - it just reminds me of a different era of air travel. However the A380 deserves respect. What an amazing machine!
This music reassures me as I get on a long haul flight. One reason to fly Air France.
What all those A380/Airbus haters don't realize, is the fact that the A380 is not even the 747's main competitor. The 747 is slowly being cannibalized by another Boeing aircraft, the 777-300ER, with airlines replacing their 744 fleet for 77W aircraft quicker than the speed of the Concorde. Look at that before judging. In terms of beauty, the 747 will always be the queen of the skies. In terms of the future, the A380 is there to stay. Same applies to the 777 and its future variants.

Just got back from Paris we flew Air France there and back. This song was on a play list and it was very relaxing to listen to.. I also thought AirFrance was one of the best flights I have ever been on in my life.. I hate to fly and had no worries when flying AirFrance.. The hospitality was incredible! GPS navigation to see where you are was cool. I wish I could get the rest of the songs that played during the flight....
This one is AF JPHA, I flew AF JPHD last week and it was a real pleasure. The tail camera gives you a great sense of the sheer size of this beauty when taxiing. Love Air France, love the A380. And this is my favourite video on youtube!

Flew inside the F-HPJA between CDG-JFK last summer, and it was a wonderful experience. As an enthusiast of aviation and Airbus I feel difficult to believe that I've really flown on 2 A380s only about a year after they entered service with AF, and that I've been able to fly the A380 before the 747, which I've still not flown.
And I can say that without a single strange movement in two crossings of the Atlantic the A380 is a great plane!

the 787 is second to none... I am an airline employee still to this day and I have flown both, Airbus and Boeing products. Boeing 787 Dreamliner is and will be, second to none. NO, I have,nt flown on it yet, nor the 380 yet, but from all that I can see and here... hands down, 787Dreamliner is the bird to fly on...the bird of the future.
Wish we still had stars, I'd give this 5* in a heartbeat. This is simply one of the best videos I've ever seen on youtube. I always knew she was a graceful bird, but most of the shots on the ground end up looking rather awkward.
In her element, she's one of the most amazing sights I've ever seen - a true engineering triumph on all fronts.
1:45 - 2:03 is just spectacular, you can even see the aileron and spoiler deflection!

747 is in fact an amazing aircraft, but the A380 is here and WOW... love it or hate it, but you just can't miss it or stay indiferent.

If you are a airplane enthusiast then you don't care if it is Airbus, Boeing, Cessna, beechcraft, piper, SAAB, tupolev. You just care about the beautiful airplanes and what they can do. to be fair this isn't the most majestic airplane to roam the skies. It is the Concorde. thumbs up for the Concorde.

@juanjillocr I agree. The original 747 design is over forty years old. This applys to the 737 as well. Boeing needs to innovate, and design a new aircraft to compete with the A380. If their complacency keeps up, they might be the next "to big to fail" case study.
Air bus and Boeing to me are both great aircraft manufacturers I Love em all :)
