between the ascian theme, the Akadaemia Anyder , and the sneaky prelude that's been mashed up here too, it all just adds to it, Soken really went hard this patch \o/
The bass on this one is phenomenal. It starts sewing the percussion, then it flows free together with the guitar. When the first "thunderer" choir section hits its still behaving but when it goes crescendo it just enters solo mode... Masterclass.
Rare that the first phase has the classic headbanger, and the second phase gets the ???? out of me. This one is just such a fantastic amalgamation of so many poignant leitmotifs, with all this frenetic panicked energy weaving them all together.
It may follow the regular ascian theme melody (Without Shadow), but I associate this more to the song when you fight Lahabrea in the Praetorium, and the Aetheochemical Research Facility, which also follows the ascian theme melody.
Shadows Withal and Thunderer having the classic instruments like the horns/choir and piano respectively is just a beautiful choice. Embers is still unique, while using leitmotifs and even instruments from the original.
This was a fantastic mashup theme to finish off this part of Pandaemonium ^^ While I haven't been able to figure out what two themes comprise the first half (even though they sound familiar, I just can't place it), I definitely noticed Thunderer in there, as well as the theme for Akadaemia Anyder
I knew I heard Thunderer and Akadaemia Anyder in there but I was so distracted by everything I wasn’t sure if I was going insane 🤣 this track is sooo gooooood
SPOILER THEORY . That memory crystal would explain it But I have an awful theory Ericthonios will be our Laha, who will rise up to the seat after his father steps down. He keeps the crystal as a memento of his journey and... well. Would make it fucking tragic wouldnt it.
@@Krysta1Rose Spoiler Theory as well - Since Lahabrea Soul Bounded the Lahabrea we see is the mixed amalgamation of him and his wife in ARR. Not sure if they can separate properly in their death or if the corruption just overcomes him over the lifetimes.
@@Krysta1Rose Yeah I'm DEFINITELY of the opinion that our Lahabrea is Eric. Athena's research is clearly the basis of Primals and their tempering, Hephestius very clearly tempered Eric, and once he becomes the Paragon Lahabrea, he'll finish that work, driven by the voices in his head.
@@Krysta1Rose Ericthonios isn't ARR Lahabrea because Eric is Professor Claudien. Look at the hair styles and skin tone. He also suddenly goes missing after going for the Hephaestus stone that ARR Lahabrea likely had on him when Thordan VII killed him up in Azys Lla. It's likely Athena and Hephaestus are going to try to finish whatever research she was working on that needed Eric. It's also likely that Lahabrea used the second memory stone after the Sundering to backup his memories and unwittingly released Hephaestus back into himself which explains why a pretty rational stern guy suddenly turned into a Saturday morning cartoon of a person. I fully expect the living Eric/Claudien to reunite with dead Lahabrea in the The Aitiascope to finally finish off Hephaestus/Ghost Mommy Athena.

Not a DNC main myself, but I am a MNK main who is my static's DNC's partner 99% of the time. I was watching this MNK's buffs throughout the fight when I was suddenly like "Wait, isn't there a dancer here?" lol
Why does everyone have to upload extended versions? There's never anything sub 5 minutes. Amazing song or no, sometimes I just want to hear the song as is once.
"Ah, wonderful, someone does a 15 second countdown. Lovely for the Dancer to-- why are they not partnered."
When the Akadaemia Anyder theme kicks in 😩😩😩
FAAAACTS. I stopped moving mid fight
I was absolutely giddy when I heard Thunderer in the mix, really made this feel like one final showdown with Lahabrea.

"Mr. Soken, there are quite a few songs in FFXIV associated with Lahabrea, which do you want to use as a base for his raid fight?"
"Yes"
A guy during our first raid: good God there's at least 4 songs in there that I can hear
When the music is so good you don't get a dance partner and dance alone

"Lahabrea went to the Vayne Solidor school of gains."

Using all of the themes associated with Lahabrea works so well
I was so hyped to hear thunderer in this one! Lovely

The first section is the generic Ascian theme that plays during cutscenes throughout the MSQ.
That first part, as others have said, is the general Ascian theme remixed, Without Shadow if I recall correctly.
The first part is as far as I can hear it, the same song (can't remember the name) which also plays during the fight against the Prim-ascian.

Rest eternal in the dark depths of this prison!
The Akadaemia Anyder part slams so hard.
When the vocals come in, be feeling so heroic
Anyone else think there was some kind of switcharoo, and that the Lahabrea we fought in ARR was the evil twin from this questline?

2:39 I see you Akademia Anyder!
i love this music but the moment i saw the dancer didnt have a dance partner the whole time i lost my mind XD as a dancer main, that is painful...
Lol I didn’t even notice that

Lmao no dance partner the entire fight
Cool song, but really had me nervous and on edge the whole fight. And Wishing I as a summoner could do some of the stuff he does
Now someone please extend it to 10 hours !!!
Tbh best mashup
upon first hearing thunderer i lost my mind lmao

You can stop listening after the first loop?
you can just pause it when its done lol
Usually these songs are short, almost more like extended leitmotifs, and are written to be easily looped, so they're designed to be played this way.
