    Looking good in Western New York. I like how they have everything spaced out to load the spreader properly with the TV145.Very cool line up of tractors.

    I just love the sound of the 4440. It is interesting to me how some of my favorite tractors from the farm seem to have distinct sounds. Thanks for the great video!

    One of my friends loves Rail locomotives and tractors. He has lots of pictures of locomotives especially. The tractors are really a relaxing therapy especially those GPS guided.

    Great drone shots. And what a fine serendipitous find as you were coming home. Loved the steam coming out of that manure pile. They do get hot.

    Those bi-directional tractors were a great tractor. To bad they no longer build them.

      Deutz has turning cabs so does Valtra and both are absolutely gorgeous tractors with outstanding reliability. Also Fendt Claas Xerion and I cant imagine JD not having it optional on at least one of there series but I might be wrong there.

    #BRINGBACKTHEBIDI...... by far the most useful tractor we have... we had a hydraulic quicktach using pins custom made for our 145... it'll go anywhere another tractor couldn't think about going..

    This is our operation Halo Farms, llc. In Perry, NY. I mowed a hell of a lot of hay with a 2300 series 16 ft sickle mower mounted where the loader frame comes off and pulling a matching hydro swing behind. This tractor is outfitted with the auxiliary hydraulic pump to run the front header (if the loader is on the front) lol.

    We have a bidirectional like this one. We have a grapple bucket for it which helps to handle a lot more material per lift. Right now we still have our snow blower on it and my back is much happier, than using our Case Maxxum 120 pro.

      I grew up on a farm with 25 milking cows, 10 other cattle, 500 chickens, a dozen hogs. All the manure was handled by hand, into a 90 bu New Idea spreader. During the 5 Winter months - a new load to the field every day. The chicken house was an all-day loading project, probably 8-10 loads, loaded by hand. .It was just part of farm life. I never recall a problem with the smell - just part of the scene. I guess familiarity with manure handling just caused all the odor offense to vanish. Oh yes, hauling was done with an open station tractor - spreading downwind was sometimes "dirty."

      It's called Olfactory Fatigue. If your around a smell long enough you will get where you don't smell it anymore. I work in management at a municipal wastewater plants. We deal with human wastes as opposed to the animal variety. My office is 300 feet from the facility. I don't smell it anymore. The UPS and FedEx drivers remind me every time they drop off packages though. They always ask how do I stand the smell I just say what smell.

    Mike came your tell me what is the difference between a seed drill and a planter.

    • @samkom33
      @samkom33 6 років тому

      a seed drill is a planter. hehe but the seed drill is more spesialised in say planting 1 and 1 seed at exakt distance between then, and at a set dept, and so on.
      a plain planter can be for example a maskine that say spread gras seeds randomly over the field,

    Like you passed by, so do I ! Interesting to see an Artic. type Versatile Loader - thought they were all built around a rigid CNH Chassis. .. and that Muck Spreader, WHY is the Drawbar soooooo long ? does it extend for weight / load distribution? If it is a Push discharge type, WHY didn't you take the time to show us? ) :-) we're being cruel! _ Thanks for posting!

      Lavern Mashburn I'm not going to answer for Mike beings he's "in the know" but my boss who has owned atleast 3 bidirectionals said they had maxed out the capacity of the platform and they couldn't meet emissions at the time they quit making them.... I really wish they'd bring them back they're awesome tractors

      Never ran one but like the bidirectional concept.
      Would like to see the hydrostatic drive replaced with cvt shuttle shift. Would increase hp output without engine increase. Would increase tasks that it could do.

    Very good video. I'd like to learn how to do some of that sort of thing. I'll tell you what though, that manure that they're spreading is not good. That stuff gets into the local creeks and streams and groundwater and that's where we get all these big algae blooms from that occur on the Great Lakes. They spread that stuff near my property once and it got into my pond which is part of a protected Wetland area. I called a New York Department of Environmental Conservation and they did absolutely nothing about it! That stuff is disgusting and the way they use it is not good for the environment, yuk! I have personally seen local streams and Creeks running brown with that stuff after a heavy rainfall.

    The Farming Life
    What?? Why bring your crap to this mans channel? Except maybe to drive traffic to your channel? If you don't like youtube? Quit it. It's not for the thin skinned. I was really trying to like you till this. Your comment was totally uncalled for and out of place.

      Mike Less he blocks everyone on his channel. Then he talks crap about certain channels and then deletes the video before the person running said channel can even see it. I come here to watch your vids and see people share stories and wisdom in the comments.Maybe that’s only me but regardless, it’s stupid to bring outside BS to this channel.

    Painful to watch the manure loading. Good Lord get the spreader closer!
    Not very fast loading with your magical bi di. They stopped making them for a reason,no sales.

    • @farmhandmike
      @farmhandmike  6 років тому +2

      Andy it amazes me how you're just an expert on everything. It's really hard for me to believe Cat would have fired you years ago with all your wisdom.
      He parked the box spreader where he did because he was mixing the load with the straw manure on the end of the pile and the spoiled silage in the rest of it.
      Also there is plenty of bi-directional tractors still in use everyday that work great for particular operations and plenty of guys say they would buy another if they were still being produced.
      But hey what does anyone else know because you know everything. I'm surprised you don't hire out as a consultant

    • @crazyhass84
      @crazyhass84 6 років тому

      It amazes me versatile is still in business. You get a Russian whore for your bonus every year? I work for FPT that puts the engines in Case IH and New Holland. bi di were made in fargo ND. according to the tractor guys I work with every day sales sucked and there was no money to be made. boom bi di gone. I appreciate your field knowledge but farmers talk crap all the time. rarely do they put their money where there mouth is.
      My dad was going to buy a new tractor every year. Then there was an excuse. Always next year, lol.

    • @farmhandmike
      @farmhandmike  6 років тому +1

      Exactly the kind of response I expected from you. FPT must be so proud to have an employee like you representing them on here. But then again you don't use your real last name so maybe they don't see the crap you post.

      Mike Less why r u so pissy? I didnt say anything about your video. Just that i didnt like how he was loading the spreader. U get upset because i criticize someone u just randomly took a video of? U r too old to be a snowflake. U get paid to drive around and take videos on company time. Does versatile know u take videos on your trips? Don't piss off the Russians!

    • @crazyhass84
      @crazyhass84 6 років тому

      Mike Less so funny that u asked why they stopped making the bi di. I tell u and u get all pissy. So I tell u how I know and u get even more pissy. Your inner 12yr old is showing.
