This video is by far the best on UA-cam so far for farming/item tips. Thank you. Farming needs a serious overhaul. Placing only one plant per go is long, slow, and quite painful when we need so much of each. I do hope for a grid placement for planting crops like in Valheim mass farming mod. Also collecting water is painful as well. Need more than we get when at the wells. (I have 5 wells so far) Most of the time spent in game is gathering enough resources to advance and for later use. It becomes mind numbing.
thank you for your tips, this was the second video I saw of yours so I hit the sub button! It's always cool to see all the different bases people build as well :)
Once you can build your own water well, you can actually farm water by using the well, picking it up and placing it down again. This allows you to get a small amount again from the well, like 3 units from regular well and 5 from the upgraded one. Also, at the alchemist's laboratory you can make spice for even more endgame cooking recipes, like glow soup for intelligence.
One thing I would like to mention, which you didnt mention in the video about the Water Well is that you also need the Masonry tools which you can not get until you upgrade your flame to level 4, because in order to get to the tools you need to go through the Pillars of Creation which is Flame Level 4 shroud area.
The furthest north and east towers drop iron, tin, and copper bars from the big vases. Also fabric of all colors and many useful later game items. It's a good fast travel farm for newer/mid game players
Probably an obvious question but do you need sunlight for crops to grow? I want to make my next base inside a mountain and would be cool if I can farm inside it.
Honestly the starting recommended spot is pretty good but there are plenty of different decently flat locations all around the world, just pick a biome you like and fly around a bit!
Hahaha it will make more sense when you progress in the game, save the video and come back to it if that's more helpful! Hahaha I do love a cup of tea!

The second you see a flax plant start farming it like you are a 1st world country. You need about 2.5k of it
Good man yourself, this is a really comprehensive guide to all things farming, thank you for taking the time to post.
Really appreciate the kind words thanks! Hope it helps!

Perfect timing I just got my farmer last night next is carpenter. This helps a lot. Keep it up
Just a tip that made my game better max out ur crafting potential with each NPC before getting another one so you don’t miss something in progression
Glad it could help! Thanks!
The crafts that will progress you will have orange diamonds next to the item!

Yeah great tip, thanks for sharing!
Subscribed based on how you said "laboratory" 🙆♂️
Hahahaha appreciate it, gotta love the Northern England accent!

Thats my place to farm too, theres a big bridge there with tons of vases like that
Yes great tip, planning to make a video on this shortly actually so watch this space!
Probably an obvious question but do you need sunlight for crops to grow? I want to make my next base inside a mountain and would be cool if I can farm inside it.
Not 100% sure tbh since I have always placed my crops outside!
I grow crops underground, works perfectly
Good info tyvm
No problem, glad it helped!
Anyway to have a sheep enclosure?
I planted aloe and its fully grown, but, it wants me to dismantle it instead of harvest. Dismantled one and got no aloe. Any suggestions?
You need to harvest it with your axe
Probably should've mentioned that Aloe grows BIG, so don't plant them so close to one another like I did lol
Where is a GOOD place to build a Village type base? Large, Flat, green? Because I would like to have a Sprawling village for ALL my NPCs needs.
Honestly the starting recommended spot is pretty good but there are plenty of different decently flat locations all around the world, just pick a biome you like and fly around a bit!
There are really huge flat areas in the desert biome near the bottom right of the map is where mine is
Have you seen the area for the harvest house?
As a still new-ish player, can i just tell you my head just exploded
And you Sir, need to stop taking caffeine

Best tip: if you think you have enough flax
-no you don’t
Yeah absolutely hahaha!
You can hoe the dirt and mine it with the pickaxes to get unlimited farming soil or fertilized soil if you want.
Yes you can indeed, at least for now!
SOOOOO much flax
Absolutely! Flax to the max
