The fact that eddie's still stepping on the pedal while trying to lay low so the t-rexes don't get him makes him one of my favorite characters in the series. The man was still trying to save his friends till the last second. Mad respect.
The underrated hero of the movie. Very sad he died
I agree!
Agreed. What a mad lad. Fought to the end for his friends.
Out of all the deaths in Jurassic Park-World franchise, I think Eddie's death is the most heroic.
And gruesome.
And totally undeserved!
“Hammond ran everything on geothermal power”
First direct reference to the islands InGen owns being volcanic. This will pay off in three movies.
Seriously this is such an underrated film, the only downside being the raptor gymnastics. So happy for this reaction!
“Distribute your weight!!” Starts wildly flailing arms. 🤣. That had me laughing so hard
My favorite part of this movie is the entire T-Rex scene where the parents come for their kid. My second favorite part was when the T-rex is in the city, especially when he reunites with his kid at the end. Although, that's all I remember from this movie. So, that's probably why they are my favorite parts.
And the part when they sleeping in the tent ⛺️ scary this T Rex couple were so cute 😊
I agree there were some great bits. I loved the scenes with the two tyrannosaurs, I love teamwork haha
The camp rampage, the trex roar echo, the trex/ trailer scene, and the camp attack scene are my favorite parts in this movie.
35:05 This is a cameo by the screenwriter David Koepp! He listed in the credits as “Unlucky Bastard” 😂
In the first book it is mentioned that the compys are venomous. In the book, the venom puts you to sleep so they can eat you while you sleep. So, what I assume the compys are doing in the film are biting him once to inject the venom and then waiting for it to take effect. It is never mentioned in the film that they are venomous though.
Also, in the first book, Hammond is a bad guy and is killed by compys.
I read the books too as a kid. Don't spoil too much for those who want to read the book. It's an amazing book, btw. Read it in one sitting.
The weirdest thing about the compys venom is that is described as having sort of a narcotic effect that makes you, not only not feel the pain, but puts you in a kind of pleasurous state, so eventhough from the outside it looks like a horrible death it's kinda not that bad. Hammond deserved worse. At least in this movie stark seems to be feeling every bite.
The books and the films are not canon with each other. However, in the Netflix series, which is canon with the films, it's confirmed that Compys bites are venomous, causing a narcotic effect
lol in Camp Cretaceous on Netflix there was an inside joke in season 3 about Hammond and the compys from the book version.
Actually it's it relatives
Procompsognathus which is venomous
To sort of answer the question - How does the T-Rex adult smell the blood of its infant from far away but can't smell humans practically 2 feet away from it
I'm guessing.... (thinking logically) that the Rex probably can smell the humans aswell but is not able to determine whether its a threat or something it wants to hunt since the quote from the first movie from Dr Grant says "Two species seperated by 65 millions years of evolution have just been suddenly thrown back in the mix together...."
It's an extremely logical conclusion. Modern day animals are the same when they are unfamiliar with a new species. Cats are a great example. They will relentlessly hunt lizards, birds, rodents, crickets, and spiders... but set a cucumber behind one when they aren't looking and they jump in the air and run for it. They probably smelled it, but had no clue about what it was.
Not only are we not it's instinctual food supply but we're barely bite sized for a Rex. It probably expends as much energy bending down to pick us up and digesting us as it gets from us. On an island with so much of it's natural prey we don't really rate much attention unless we're actively messing with the Rex. Which of course being humans we do. Repeatedly. After recreating them from oblivion. Honestly they eat less of us than they're entitled to, maybe it really is true we just taste bad to most animals.
@@hiarhu746 our flesh to bone ratio makes us as appetizing as a two bone chicken wing 👍
To add onto that, they're in the middle of a campsite with men asleep all over the place, their scent is everywhere in that area. The Rex instead beelined for the one place it could smell something it could recognize, the scent of its child, and there it is trying to figure out what is going on, why does this pack of strange animals have the scent of its baby in their pack.
To fully answer this, the Tyrannosaurus Rex has the second strongest sense of smell in the entire fossil record dead or alive. Beaten only my the modern day Turkey Vulture. So yes, they can smell you VERY easily. Remember that this is a fictional franchise too, the “only see by movement” isn’t real the T-Rex actually has very good eyesight as well.
The poor Pachycephlosaurus getting caught made me so sad 😞 That's my favorite dino.
The Five Deaths were named before JP set up shop on the island chain. It had to do with a Native American myth about a warrior that faced 5 types of execution on the islands. Have a feeling this worked in favor of InGen because it meant the locals would be avoiding the islands already and wouldn't stumble upon their experiments.
Malcolm's girlfriend Dr. Sarah Harding is actually the daughter of Dr. Harding from the first movie. He was the guy assessing the Triceratops.
Fun Fact/Possible Theory: It’s assumed these days that not only did Tyranosaur parents worked together to raise the children, but that they hunted in pairs or small groups as well.
6:31 According to lore created for the game Jurassic Park: Trespasser, recorded by Richard Attenborough (Hammond) himself, the Cinco Muertes are named after 5 native ancient legends involving a different kind of death; it didn't have to do with there being dinosaurs created and living on them now.
Actually according to the lost world novel Los Cinco Muertes was actually Die Fünf Todesarten still meaming the five deaths but was decribed as a native who was sentenced to death and went from island to island experiencing each one almost like Hercules
@@blazinjedi2008 Yes, that's correct, but the film lore and the book lore are different universes from each other. It's kind of the same way with the games in fact. Some games may take after the films very closely but unless something from another medium is explicitly mentioned in another the two mediums are not necessarily taking place within the same Jurassic universe.
Honestly, the only thing missing from these movies was quetzalcoatlus. Look that crap up, it was basically a pteranodon with the wingspan of a biplane. Think of a carnivorous giraffe that can fly and you're on the right track. Utterly terrifying.
They included it in the Dominion prologue, hoping we get it in the full film!
That *is* fricken terrifying.
I have been on a pterosaur-marathon on UA-cam. Have you seen videos on Azarchids? Amazing stuff. Flying Giraffe Stork Reptiles....
I'd also love to see what they can do with an Ornithocheirus
If a blockbuster were to miraculously re open I bet it would be the most popular and successful of them all for people experiencing nostalgia.
The "extinct animals have no rights" idea pays off in later films, too!
So excited to see your reactions to the next movies!!
"How many Sarah's do you think are on this island?" For the Win
I just love the message of these films: In the end, the power of nature will always triumph over human greed.
Roland didn’t have a shotgun, that’s a .600 Nitro Express elephant gun. Look it up, two shots to the head will kill just about anything.
Bend legs on the downswing, not reaching full handstand after the glide-kip, good accelaration on the giant swing, bit of loss of form in the air, stuck landing. All in all, a solid bars routine by Malcolms' daughter but quite few deductions. 🤓
27:40 regarding your comment here, contrary to how the books set up the rexes, the t rex actually had one of the best sense of smell and some of the best vision on record for a predator, ever.
Yeah, please don’t take Jurassic Park as golden for why Dino’s were actually like. JP got many things wrong about a lot of the Dino’s. Even in the lore of the JP universe, it’s pretty silly lol
@@Psyciandra the idea of T-rex have poor eyes site in Jurassic Park is all because Jack Horner is the consultant for the JP franchise
John Williams's score is what makes this movie. The music cues are 100%.
Blockbuster was the best, best chill feeling going there 😭😻 when you reeeeeally took the time to choose ’the perfect one’ - sometimes ’ones’ 😹👌🏼 and snacks.. ahh 🥰
Literally just got done watching your reaction to the first one, great timing
Nice!
'Distribute your weight' hands have joined the 'just let go' hands from the first movie lol
My dad actually made the mistake of taking my youngest brother to see this movie when it was in theaters . . . . when he was 2! This freaked out my brother and my mom was POed when she found out lol. I honestly don't blame her. My brother, even at a young age, was very much into Dinosaurs and that is why my dad took him to see it. He had just seen the first Land Before Time sequel and enjoyed that (it was one of the ways we got him to take a nap, to watch a movie). My poor dad, wasn't one of his brightest decisions lol.
The Land Before Time was my little brothers favorite movie too & only way he would calm down when my other brother & I went to school w/out him lol, Jurassic Park on VHS was so great 😃
You need to see the third movie where they go to an island that first tried to re-create dinosaur see how horrible that went
It would hurt like a bitch to get headbutted by one of those. (understatement of the millennium)
I love this movie for just how suspenseful it is.
Enjoying the Jurassic Park/World reactions. So much fun. Your channel is my favorite for movie reactions, so I'm glad to be bingeing your Jurassic ones 👍🏼
Welcome aboard! Thanks for watching. I'm glad you enjoy my content. :)
The first movie I love the most, always have.
This one... this is the one that literally gave me nightmares after the first time I saw it. I still remember it and I still call it 'the raptor nightmare'.
Been binge-watching so many of your reactions lately. I am really enjoying them. Your reactions make even movies that I don't like good because of your reactions. I am thankful for that. You are doing an amazing job with your reactions. Thank you for them.
31:35 Velociraptor: what are you gonna do, kid? Swing on me?
Girl: (gymnastic kick)
Velociraptor: (Impaled)
Dude, I would be PISSING myself if a Tyrannosaurus rex (or any predatory animal) poked its head in my tent while I'm sleeping.
Also, the tail spikes of the Stegosaurus were estimated to have been the size of regulation baseball bats.
You and your reactions are adorable! Lots of fun watching this
I don't like the second part...but it was fun to watch you watch! 👍🏻
I find the third one more entertaining.
YESSSSS I LOVE Jurassic Park and watching you react to them makes my day!!!
Peter Stormare (Roland's 2nd in Command) has been in so many stuff including playing Dr. Hill from Until Dawn. Guy's so underrated as an actor. This is one of my favorite Jurassic movies in all of the series.
In my opinion JP1 and TLW:JP are the best in the franchise. 3 is C+ Sci fi channel tier junk, and the Jurassic World movies are entertaining but lack the original two movies’ depth.
JP1- 5/5
TLW:JP- 4.5/5
JP3- 1/5
JW- 4/5
JW:FK- 3.5/5
The reason why the T-rex sense of smell is better in this film is because between 1993 and 1997 paleontologists discovered that the T-rex had a very strong sense of smell. So that's why the T-rex has a better sense of smell in this movie, the writer's and director wanted to make a few more things "paleon accurate "
1:38
Newfie: Ooh!
Me: COMPY!
Little late to the party to be sure but not a shotgun, that was what most people call an "Elephant Gun" or big game double rifle usually chambered in either a large rounded projectile or a slightly smaller pointed projectile and features a long case length (usually 2in.) for extra propellant. Essentially it forces a solid round through something very big ( that has super thick/tough hide and/or flesh/bone) very fast (1.5k to 2.5k+ feet per second). The reason for two barrels instead of one is to make a faster follow-up shot in case either the first shot misses or isn't lethal, because if you're shooting at something that requires such a weapon in the first place odds are that you don't have time to work a bolt action if the first shot doesn't drop the target.
I just have a idea about the t-rex not smelling the humans. Maybe b.c. he isn't used to it? 20 years ago, ppl were thinking that sharks follow human blood but they in fact ignore it or even try to avoid it b.c. we are not natural pray for them and our blood is very differtn to fishblood. T-rex could have smelled them for sure, but he also smells a lot of other stuff that he is not going for like flowers. And something off topic: You can see the glas that Sarah falls on to , break lose at 19:11. So there would be no glass in this situation :D
I still enjoy the action and the tension in this movie. And underrated lines, like the ones you pointed out.
Yep.. I miss the excitement of going to Blockbuster on Friday nights to check out the new releases 😆
I had A LOT of Jurassic Park toys growing up because I was obsessed with dinosaurs and one of the toys I had was the Stegosaurus JP toy . If you squeezed 2 of it's spikes it's tail would swing .
That sounds awesome! Who need battery powered toys when you squeezing tail action! Haha.
I've loved this movie since Day 1. Great reaction! 👍🏿
“My gawd, missus!” Hahaha I died
Happy Tibb’s Eve, my buddy.
9:18 the camera didnt freak out she use the last of the flim and the camera started to roll the flim back in the container so it can be removed from the camera cant expose the blanks to light
she should have been keeping track of how many shes taken they can even have a counter on them to tell you how many are left
All these years, I never thought of that. I always thought the lens jammed or something. I consistently forget that this movie was made in 1997 and digital cameras weren't as common as they are now.
"Distribute your weight Sarah!" lol great reaction, this movie is epic! Your gonna enjoy these series, they're all very fun, funny and tense at the same time.
I have the comicbook adaption of this movie, and in the first scene the kid actually got eaten.
I've been waiting for this one!
27:17 imagine seeing and hearing that while camping haha
Fair warning - next film is generally regarded as the worst. Not only was its production a nightmare, it doesn't really advance the greater Jurassic Park story or mythos
The Lost World added a whole new island, darker elements from the novels, and memorable moments on par with the first film
Only now with the *Jurassic World* movies (or rather their expanded lore) has stuff from the third film been given more context that elevates it storywise
Story in third movie wasn't that complex but I liked design of dinosaurs and how colorful they were.
One of the few films i got to see in the theater as a kid, and man did i love it. The glass scene at the cliff was so intense!
The funny thing about this movie is the got chrichton to write a second Jurassic Park novel only to use like 20% of the material. The girl being attacked in the beginning is actually from the first novel.
“Distribute your weight!” 🤣😂
I used to love blockbuster lol I had an actual account with them and when I met the love of my life 18 years ago we would every Thursday go to blockbuster buy a load of chocolate and ice cream and pig out while watching good movies. It was alot of fun. Hope you have watched all these movies ready for jurassic World dominion
Also I’ve been waiting for someone to react to the movie “Orphan” 2009. It stars the girl who played Clove in Hunger Games. When she was younger. Also has Vera Farmiga. Who is absolutely amazing. But yea the movie is f-d and please do a react to it lol
The Nitro Express Double Barrel Rifle is a large-caliber rifle carried by Roland Tembo in The Lost World: Jurassic Park, It is a large caliber rifle popularized in the early 1900's by ivory hunters. These rifles are often referred to simply as a "double," referencing the two barrels per single rifle.
There is a deleted scene where Ludlow was drunk and falls on the babies leg breaking it. Also there is another one where Roland and Ahjay backstory is explained.
The last words you heard from your friends was about wanting food. I always feel bad for Eddie
The scene where the Tyrannosaurus eats the guy who doesn't make it into the building is the screen writer David Keop.(sp?) And I would recommend doing Jurassic World and JW: Fallen Kingdom while you have the first 3 fresh in your mind. And just an fyi there's a 10 minute live action short called Battle at Big Rock that I would recommend as well as, if you're interested, the Netflix show Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous.
Ah yes, the classics: calling Pteranodons "Pterodactyls", calling them dinosaurs while they aren't dinosaurs, and calling the T. rex a lizard while dinosaurs aren't lizards. X)
2:17 I thought they were looking at him like a insane person.
To answer the ‘T. Rex terrible senses’ question... it’s basically a bit of artistic liberty to add tension but “a way out” for the characters. Even in the first film the ‘movement based vision’ is for the same reason.
The in-lore reason is that the frog dna used to complete their cloning process caused certain amphibian traits to end up in the dinosaurs. More than a few amphibians have terrible eye-sight and not the best sense of smell except for very specific scents so there you go.
As a fun trivia sort of thing, according to palaeontologists who studied T. rex skulls, the actual, real Tyrannosaurus would’ve had great eyesight that might’ve surpassed humans’ in comparison and an even *better* sense of smell; its nasal cavity was similar to the ones on vultures and buzzards so it would’ve indeed smelt their offspring’s blood miles away and pmuch every single human even if they hid in a car or a tent or up in the trees... So yeah, basically the JP movies nerfed them to give humans a fighting chance lol.
By the way, Roland's double barreled rifle isnt a shotgun, Its and elephant rifles chambered in 600 Nitro express. Which is much stronger than your average rifle round.
Great reaction man, really enjoyed your video. I always felt like Eddie’s death was too mean spirited for such a helpful and heroic character
Jurassic Park is awesome 😎👍💯
Many say that it's their least favorite movie of all Jurassic Park ones. But I do actually like it a lot. Who am I kidding? I'm obsessed with all the films. :D
Jurassic Park III is kinda meh cause its literally just running from dinosaurs
Nick Van Owen is the real villain in this movie. He is the reason why everyone was killed. All the blood is on his hands.
I'm sorry, but if a Tyrannosaurus rex (or any predator) stuck its head in my tent while I'm asleep, I'd be pissing myself.
Omg glad you watched this. It's my favorite one and your reaction was spot on.
Enjoyed watching your reaction to one of my all-time favourite movies (next to the 1st one of course). Can't wait for you to react to the other sequels.
hey in the beginning that's the girl from the "When A Stranger Calls" remake. Which by the way, the original is good! Could be a good react video. Stars Carol Kane, who you'll prob recognize once you see her and hear her unique voice.
She's also in 'Practical Magic' playing the younger version of Sandra Bullock's character. Another fun movie
That snake was a harmless king snake. However even if it was a coral snake, I rather take my chances with it by sitting still then with a Trex!
The second team the won with all the fancy vehicles, are basically poaching the animals.
The third involves returning to the main island. On a rescue mission.
Another fun fact, the Compsognathus in Jurassic Park/World are venomous! So in that one scene, all those lil dino rats were all injecting venom into that dude
Just had to mention it was Hammonds nephew Peter Ludlow that was stumbling around drunk and fell on the baby's leg which is how it broke so it's kinda fitting that the baby was the one to finish him off at the end lol
The dinosaur in the city at the end is a direct homage to Sir Arthus Conan Doyle's 1925 "The Lost World"
Okay. Wow. Watching this just made me realize, I apparently never actually watched Lost World. I should probably do that. I now see why everyone was making comparisons to Lost World when Fallen Kingdom came out.
Poor Dr Glassman, he got a saving people thing ever since. He went back to save them.
Can't wait for you to meet Blue
This is fun so far.... If you looking for trilogy to watch try....The Expendables
A bunch of stars Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, jet li, Jason Statham, Bruce Willis, and more
Roland Tempos character is amazingly bad ass but none the less… bringing a shotgun which bare in king (no pun intended) bears can take these bullets, a T-Rex could probably take a RPG let alone shotgun.
Not a shotgun he is carrying a double rifle chambered in 600 Nitro Express 620. Caliber 900 grain bullet velocity 2,050 muzzle energize 8’400😎
There is a scene in the script that wasn’t used were he describes his rifle which belonged to his father and that he would have to get within 40 yards to make the shot
Also Ima deleted scene Ludlow was the one who actually broke the baby’s leg
11:42 Could you imagine if the dinosaur dropped a Justin Trudeau on that guy? LOL
35:00 I miss Block Buster too.
Had to google cause the guy on the boat who translates grey and tan clothing sounded like tom hanks. Says it isnt in the movie so idk. 6:23
Yes, I miss Blockbuster Video stores. I grew up in that generation.
About the Rex not smelling the two humans, it probably did. The humans are camping all over that area at that moment, so their scent would be everywhere, but only one spot had the baby's blood, so it goes there it investigate.
I know I knew you ! You are the sidekick of Brendan Fraser in The Mummy !
I haven't seen the Mummy but I think those are coming up very soon. :)
I'm still kinda mad Eddie died. He was my favorite character in the film lol.
The gun he's was going to use to kill the male T-rex with is an elephant gun if you guessed from the name it's meant to bring down elephants
Just a heads up Roland wasnt using a shotgun but a 700 nitro express (elephant gun)
The flying one in this movie is Pteranodon
The trex couldn’t smell them because of plot armor
Damn dude you can pull off some serious Petr Mrazek cosplay.
Everyone always laughs at the gymnastics scene so corny, but funny. Also every time you say hes not dead he made it out alive they end up getting eaten lol.
Also Eddie is the most heartbreaking death in the Jurassic park series to me.
Yes i miss Blockbuster Newfie! Btw you seem like a cool dude, great reaction!
Dying from compsognathus is probably worse than dying from a raptor or T-Rex!
It kind of makes me upset how people confuse that monster of a rifle with a shotgun, but as an American, I know it's hard to understand. That is what is called an elephant rifle... imagine a double-barreled rifle that fires bullets as big as your thumb, designed to take down charging elephants and rhinos in two shots(unfortunatly)...
It's sad that that rifle was made to do things like that but at the time of it's creation, it was a necessary item for biggest game hunters.😢
I didn't know that dingo's and wild pack dog's did that.
I cant wait to see you're reaction to 3😆💕💕
Tomorrow! :)
