- 🇬🇧 WINCHESTER WALKING TOUR, OLD ENGLISH TOWN, WALKING TOUR, OLD ENGLISH CAPITAL CITY, 4k 60, HDR, Winchester is a historic city located in Hampshire, England. It is situated in the southern part of the country, approximately 64 miles (103 kilometers) southwest of London. Winchester has a rich history that dates back to ancient times and was once the capital of England during the Anglo-Saxon period.
The city is well-known for its stunning medieval cathedral, Winchester Cathedral, which is one of the largest cathedrals in Europe. It is a popular tourist attraction and an important religious site. The cathedral's architecture is a mix of various styles, including Norman, Gothic, and Renaissance.
Winchester is also famous for its connections to King Arthur's Round Table. The Round Table hanging in the Great Hall of Winchester is a medieval replica, though it holds great historical and legendary significance.

The city has a vibrant cultural scene, including art galleries, museums, theaters, and a variety of festivals and events throughout the year.
Furthermore, Winchester is home to the University of Winchester, which attracts students from all over the world. The city has a thriving student population, contributing to its lively atmosphere.
Overall, Winchester is a captivating destination for history enthusiasts, architecture lovers, and those seeking a peaceful and cultural experience in the heart of England.

I loved how cool you were when they got slightly irate at the college! Perhaps they were a little too instantly accusatory, I thought.

Hi there, What a wonderful in-depth look around Winchester, if you you do similar videos on other cities I will be very happy. It’s several years since I visited Winchester, but it all looks very much the same as I remember it. You captured perfectly the sleepy relaxed atmosphere of parts of the city, especially in the first half of the video.
You often talk of economising on goods, but I’m pretty certain you don’t economise on your camera equipment, as the quality of filming is top notch.
Salisbury is another cathedral city which has a similar vibe to Winchester, and would be worth a visit, as is Guildford which is closer to London, 35 minutes on the train. I was in Guildford on Wednesday, and it had that same sort of mid-week sleepy atmosphere, which is so relaxing.
If you feel like venturing north York and Chester also have similar vibes. Southampton and Portsmouth not the same at all, Bournemouth is popular for the beach mainly. I think you have filmed Bath, so I will check that one out.
Thank you for watching and a lovely feedback as always John ❤️ 👀 😊. Yes filming equipment etc is in the thousands... Being a youtuber is not a cheap hobby. Thank you for the suggestions - I'll write them down. I'd like to go back to Andover too - I've been there before. Xxx
The houses with a black wood structure are Tudor style from the time of Henry VIII, Elizabeth I, and Shakespeare time.
Hiya, thank you for watching ❤️ 👀 😊. Yes yes I know about Tudor houses - they look amazing!
🏃♀🏃♀💖💖👏👏
❤️
Can you show on a map the location of your walk? Is it Keats Walk by any chance? Or did I miss that in your commentary? This was fascinating, btw. Your commentary is the best! I felt like I was there.
Thank you for watching ❤️ 👀 🙏 ♥️. I went to Winchester without any "homework" - I just walked wherever without a map. I completely forgot about Winchester by now haha - just came back from Japan and China a few days ago and flying to Morocco for a month tomorrow. No idea where I walked in Winchester, sorry haha xx
@@GIRLINPARADISE thanks for responding. Winchester was recommended to me as a day trip from London, and I totally love that you included what appeared like every aspect of that town! That looked like a great way to see Winchester. I may try tourist information. Thanks and happy travels!
Thank you so much 😊 💓 xx
I almost got hate crimed in Abby gardens 🥶
Thanks for watching ❤️ 👀 🙂
U should try out Chichester and surrounding areas in Hampshire.....
Thank you xx
