People are giving Mo'Nique more credit than she deserves. There's no plan, no plot. She lost her temper and went after D.L. When she was exposed as wrong, she changed tact, it was about things D.L. said about her in the past - when we couldn't find anything that would warrant her rant, it was then about him not protecting his daughter - when the backlash came, it was about jokes he told in the past about black women🙄. Anyone who has ever busted a 5 year old in the wrong is going to be real familiar with this approach.

Ali is right with regard to DL's Deal Memo, and UTA. I worked for one of the big ones back in the day. Monique's "Daddy" wrote her contract. However, it has now come out that Monique wasn't mad at DL about the contract. She lied! She was mad at DL about something STUPID that happened YEARS ago that she's been stewing over. She's on UA-cam telling it.

A deal memo is not enforceable in a court of law. There are no signatures. A contract can be on a napkin with signatures and enforceable. So if Ali says he gets deal memos all the time, is he signing a contract? If the promoters jacked this deal up then both of them have the right to sue. I would have like to see a signed contract with his signature or initials.
Someone should gift Monique some humility, she clearly has lost her way and damn mind. Stop bringing how hype you were back in the days. If you want to achieve that level again, girl you have to work for it and grind your way back to that position. Nobody cares what you did 30 years ago. Well here’s the thing for me: regardless of what was produced - a contract or a summary memo, the promoters 1) advertised DL as the headliner, 2) sold tickets representing DL as the headliner, 3) published the lineup roster with DL as the headliner, and 4) presented DL as the headliner onstage. Why would the promoter honor DL’s summary memo over Mo’Nique’s contract if the memo is invalid? Why is this entire debacle an issue presented to the public? I was a fan of both artists, but I have many questions about maturity and integrity for Mo’Nique right now, as both appear to be lacking here. Petty does not always win!

1) While a "Deal Memo" may be a prelude to (or summary of) a contract, it is not proof of there being a valid/binding agreement in place.
A "Deal Memo" is just evidence that negotiations of terms were taking place. There would still need to be a signed, dated contract [or other equivalent demonstration] that the deal was finalized and legally binding. . . . . and all of this would have to pre-date Monique's signed dated contract.
2) Promotion and advertisement is very sneaky -- it's all about suggeston and enticement (not truthfulness): DL's name in the first position could just be the stars in alphabetical order, not necessarilly precedence. Also notice that DL's pictures are mostly headshots vs Monique's pictures are mostly full-body. While it may be "suggestive", it cannot be relied upon. Promoters often use this type of "fluff" to appease an unsatisfied celebrity, appeal to certain target demoraphics, or to maintain beneficial relationships. Apparently the radio station that airs DL's show also sponsored the comedy show. Perhaps the Promoter gave into DL's demands to preserve their relationship with him and the radio station?
If you look closely at all of the promotion materials (ads, posters, etc), they all state "Starring: DL AND Monique"-----when they could have very easily just billed the show as "Headlinging DL Hughley". Also, both DL and Monique have both provided copies of their line-up schedules showing them in the 'end-of-show' position. For any real proof of what actual terms and obligations existed, we have to defer to the contract(s).
Either way, looks like the Promoter is responsible for breach of [at least one of their] contracts and/or maybe even some fraud.
Exactly!! If there was ever ANY intention of honoring Monique's BS contract AT LEAST 1 part of it would have been done. It wasn't but EVERYTHING in DL's was. I don't know who signed her contract but it must have been the janitor not the boss or she would have sued.

I said the same thing. She and her daddy planned that. Why would her husband who is the promoter schedule a show with her and DL knowing she had beef with him. DL also said he knew he shouldn't have accepted to do the show because he and against his better judgment he accepted. She spent her 30 minutes degrading him in hopes to embarrass him. He still got paid the most and closed the show as his contract said. In her videos thereafter, she never addressed the error of the promoter instead she changed the subject to something that was said by DL years ago snd then added his dsughters traumatic experience. She playing games and despite what she says she does not love us 4Real.

Ali Siddiq is talking loud, but saying nothing. While I truly enjoy the comedic style of Ali Siddiq, it is pretty obvious that this platform was created specifically to support DL Hughley. Nearly everyone one here has made negative comments about Monique without actually SEEING the contract. If the purpose was to be fair, then why not show the contract in question. We can speculate all day long what happened and what it actually said, but without seeing the contract, it is all speculation. My concern with DL is that I question DL's motives because a few years ago I noticed that he began changing his platform to support certain political agendas that were harmful to the black community. The fact is, neither political parties have supported the black community. Therefore, we as blacks have to begin by knowing the issues and voting on the issues rather than voting for political parties.

This is also why I don't look to comedians for answers especially those who don't have a political anchoring or aren't willing to sacrifice something for the greater good (The Muhammad Ali Standard). His point about black love and not attacking black people is a mute point. As I stated in one of my other comments underneath d.l. Hughley have done a tremendous amount of damage to the black community by using his position and his microphone to heard black people towards a Democratic party that has verbalize that they have no plans to do anything for you. He weaponizes the fear of trump to do so. Not understanding that politics does not operate in a binary as in left or right blue or red Democrat or Republican. But when you are a comedian and you step out of that realm into politics and you don't know what you're talking about but you sound good you do damage. He deserves to be dragged by his locs out of our community. Everybody in the community does not deserve our love some people deserve accountability and that is what Monique is bringing. It is a Karma that is well deserved. But because Ali is biased regardless of him saying that he isn't and because he does not have the political education to understand why his friend is it danger to our community in his position as a disc jockey and commentator Ali now puts himself in the position as a protector of gatekeepers unknowingly. This is how genius and covert white supremacy is in its operation. To the point that it can use black bodies to do is work unknowingly. And when the voices in our community that need to be heard or damned by the people in our community it shows you that the conditioning of black people is as such that we are ripe to be turned back onto slaves.
Dude there’s always gonna be a very detailed and intelligent argument coming from both sides of the political fence if you’re actually into politics. Thank you canelover90 for being one of the few people on this channel to speak the truth about DL Hughley. DL has made various political statements just to appease a certain political party all while contributing to the demise of the black community. The problem with many black people is that they have been bamboozled into voting for a political party rather than voting on the issues that will help their community.
On the contract point, I have to disagree! Without the john Hancock from both parties on any agreement, that agreement is not legally binding anyone. In my business, I've seen contractors not get paid because there was no signature from the customer or whomever they were rendering service too.
He said the deal memo is the summary of the signed contract from the agency!
@@blackcar1 exactly! It's a summary but not the actual agreement, which again doesn't hold any weight in a court of law. Only a signed agreement does, in which Monique has shown and DL still has yet too.

And also what he didn't say was that DL was good friends with the promoter and more than likely the reason to why he felt he didn't need to sign an agreement. But again, only signed agreements hold weight in court. Deal memos, posters and ticket stubs mean absolutely nothing in a court of law.
