I had a collapsed lung and almost died, shifted my heart to the side and then felt like I was suffocating and having a heart attack at the same time. Worst pain i've ever experienced but also made me quit smoking I realized how important the lungs are I thought the worst what would happen is I'd get a bad cough or a chest infection but that's nothing compared to being in hospital with a tube sticking out of your lung and being stuck in a hospital bed eating terrible hospital food. Took me 2 years to fully recover I couldn't even workout for the full 2 years my lung wasn't strong enough i'd get bad pains

@Clips Buzz cold weather doesn't actually make you sick...however the reason you get lung infections in cold weather is due to the higher water content in the air. If you're breathing in water particles into your lungs that's just asking for a lung infection and it happens that airborne viruses love cold weather that's when they reproduce because it's not too hot or dry. When you're cold your immune system is also weakened, your body's natural way of fighting off infections is by over heating and getting warm so if you're cold you have higher chance of getting sick. As for protecting your lungs against that you could use air purifiers, air filters, dust masks, wear warmer clothes, avoid anyone that's sick, use negative ionizers or even use an air cleaning spray that kills airborne germs, etc...

The lungs are a very important organ that humans need to breathe. The lungs are in the upper body of our bodies and have two on both sides. I am a student of earth science, so I do not learn life science, but the human body is one of the most mysterious things. It is very interesting to be able to think and to have various physical organs in our bodies connected organically so that we can maintain our lives. When you think of these things, life scientists often look cool.

    "But despite their vulnerability,
their anatomical design allows them to stay strong
and play a vital role in fueling the body. ". The structure of the lungs convinces me of the existence of the Creator. Lungs are complex engineering.

A pure miracle. We can clearly see that the lungs have been created exactly right for our survival. If the membrane was too thick oxygen would not pass into the blood stream. The left lung being smaller is not chance. Almighty Allah created it in such a way so that the heart would fit in properly.
